Although I was born in rural Ontario when we moved to Nova Scotia over 40 years ago, I knew it was my true home. I graduated with an honors certificate in Graphic Design from Sheridan College near Toronto and followed that with a BFA from NSCAD University. I have been a sometime painter all my life and a professional one for just over 10 years. Solo exhibitions have taken my work to many galleries across the province and next year I will show a large body of work in St. John, New Brunswick. At this point in my career my paintings tend to be large abstracts. They are, for the most part, energetic and expressive with an emphasis line overlaying illusionary depths and modulated values.
As well as painting full time, I also teach courses and workshops across NS. My teaching includes courses on abstraction and on painting abstract landscapes for Extended Studies, NSCAD.
