Surfing into the weekend
a film wave with the Canadian Surf Film Festival, on all weekend at Park Lane.
The Playwrights' Atlantic Resource Centre presents its annual cabaret at the 1313 Hollis on Saturday. Hear readings of works by Don Hannah, Catherine Banks, Evan Brown, Kim Parkhill, Hannah Rittner and more at 8pm.
The annual hip-hop festival Hopscotch is on all weekend too. Check out the opening party tonight inside Citadel Hill with Sultan and Ned Shepherd. On Saturday there's Roast the Coast, a breakdancing competition, from 3 to 7 on the waterfront and in the night there are shows across the street from each other: Hello Click, Cam Smith, JBru, Something Good and Ghettosocks at The Company House and Weirdo Click, DJ IV, IV League, J Mayne and Quake at The Bus Stop Theatre.
