EUB Can't Justify NB Power's Latest Increase

The Energy and Utilities Board says it can't conclude that NB Power really needed that three per cent increase from you last month. Energy Minister Jack Keir asked the EUB to review the increase after the utility said it was needed despite better-than-expected profits.

City Plans To Change Building-Height Bylaw

The city is looking at a plan to amend the bylaw limiting how tall buildings can be. This would allow for a new 126-room, 11-storey hotel to be next to the new convention centre. Last night city council heard objections from some people living downtown who aren't happy about the idea of changing the height bylaw.

Rosella Melanson lives in the Regency Park condominiums facing what could be a new 36 metre high hotel.
