Dr. PJ Devereaux

Go big or stay home might be an expression close to the heart of Dr. PJ Devereaux. He's been involved and continues to conduct some of the largest clinical trials in the world. While other trials might use hundreds of patients, he recruits, thousands, tens of thousands. He's currently recruiting 40,000 patients from all over the world for research on perioperative cardiac care.
Dr. Devereaux is an associate professor in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University. He's received a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario Career Investigator Award. And when he's not conducting huge clinical trials involving patients all over the globe, or teaching, or seeing patients, he's writing, Dr. Devereaux has published over 120 peer reviewed papers and 30 editorials, book chapters and commentaries.
