Chief Terry Paul

Chief Terry Paul185.jpgFew political leaders can claim a record like Terry Paul. He has been serving as Chief of Membertou First Nation for 27 years, winning his 14th consecutive election in July 2010.
In that time, Membertou has become an economic force to be reckoned with. The community has generated millions of dollars in development with the Trade and Convention Centre, a retail mall, an entertainment center and it's adding a hotel, a heritage center and a new sports facility.

Chief Terry Paul was instrumental in setting up a corporate office in Halifax and getting 1SO 9000 certification for Membertou, the first aboriginal community in the world to receive the designation. He has received an honourary degree from Cape Breton University, and sits on the Board of the Shannon School of Business.  (runs 16:33)
