About Marcy Markusa

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Marcy Markusa has strong roots in the local community and strives to make every story relevant to the people who call our province home.

She has been working as a journalist since 1996.

She got her start in Steinbach, Manitoba where she worked for a small radio station as a news reporter and reader. There she covered the 1997 flood from an airplane.

Marcy was pulled out of the newsroom to co-host the morning show when a new station opened up. She enjoyed hosting the show, but missed interviewing and meeting people at the music-driven station.

"I grew up wanting to be Barbara Walters or Oprah."

She moved back to Winnipeg and took a TV job hosting CityScape on Videon Cable 11.

"It was a community show that took me all over the city to cover lifestyle stories at the grassroots. It was also live which I loved because you get a big rush when you have to perform."

When Shaw bought out Videon, Marcy came over to CBC Manitoba. She's been here ever since.

Marcy loves hosting Information Radio live each morning and hopes to connect to listeners with her energetic warmth and sense of humour.
