In November of 2012 Professor Franklin was invited to give an inaugural lecture on issues of peace and global health at the University of Toronto. The endowed lecture is named after Zofia Pakula, a holocaust survivor and a physician, who after the Second World War, made her home in Canada, and in Toronto.
