Rick Cluff

You know Rick Cluff as the host of the Early Edition, CBC Vancouver's weekday morning show. Rick's also a long time jazz lover and this Saturday he'll be by with music by some of his favourite singers.

Hot Air is celebrating the launch of the new CBC bureau in Kamloops on October 16th at the Parkside Lounge. The show will feature hometown favourites, the Anita Eccleston Quintet and The HiFi, a brand new jazz band from Victoria. The show starts at 7:30 pm. Email rsvp.radio@cbc.ca to get your tickets - it's free! Just put "Hot Air in Kamloops" in the subject line and let us know how many tickets you'd like. See you at the Parkside!

The latest installment of "Jazz Giants" is on line now at cbcmusic.ca This is another audio treasure from the Hot Air Archive. It's a 1970 conversation with pianist Oscar Peterson and Hot Air's founding host Bob Smith.

Tyson Naylor

Pianist and composer Tyson Naylor is an artist who plays with everyone from Dan Mangan to Francoise Houle. He'll drop by the Hot Air studio to tell us about his musical influences and about living in Berlin. He'll also share some tracks from his soon to be released album "Kosmonauten".

Hot Air's 65th Anniversary Concert!

Hot Air first hit the airwaves way back  in 1947, making us CBC's longest running show.
This coming Saturday, host Margaret Gallagher celebrates 65 years on-air with a special concert recorded in front of a live audience at CBC's Vancouver Broadcast Centre.
For this event, jazz great Ross Taggart lead an all-star ensemble of some of Canada's best musicians, including Joani Taylor, Oliver Gannon, Campbell Ryga, Brad Turner, Sharon Minemoto, Darren Radtke, Craig Scott and Evan Arntzen.
It's a an hour of music and you won't want to miss!
