Doug Dirks
Doug Dirks has appeared as the sports reporter on The Homestretch. During his two decades working for CBC Radio and TV, Doug has covered everything from the Stanley Cup final to the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He also spent four years hosting the local TV news in Calgary, and anchoring CBC News Network, where he provided live coverage of the Dawson College shootings in Montreal. Doug has also guest-hosted a number of CBC Radio programs in Calgary, including the Calgary Eyeopener, Alberta at Noon and The Homestretch. Doug is married to a mental health professional, which comes in handy because he is also the father of two wonderful teenagers.
