Milestone for Calgary's 31st Scout Hall

scouts.jpgThe building from 1912 is getting a little help from Calgary 2012, the organization celebrating Calgary's year as cultural capital. The group has given the scouts $1200. It's part of an online competition called GiG YYC. Communities pitch ideas, and the public votes on them. Each month, the ideas with the most votes, get $1200 each. Guest host Frank Rackow talks to Jeff Hetherington with the 31st Scouts Group, he is behind the winning pitch to celebrate the 100th anniversary of scout hall.

Saturday September 15th, the Scouts will hold an Open House and Family Day at the hall.

If you have an idea to celebrate culture in the city this year, or you'd like to vote on your favourite idea, go to GiG YYC.
