The Last Spike
This piece of history is on display at the Fairmont Palliser today until 4pm. In 1885 the Governor General commissioned a silver 'last spike', it was made to mark the completion of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The Canadian Museum of Civilization recently acquired it and is showing it off to Calgarians today. David Morrison is the curator of the museum.
