Doctor training lacking
Dr. Brian Goldman talks to guest host Frank Rackow about a recent study by the American Hospital Association which identifies some serious gaps in the training of doctors. The report implies doctors need to learn to manage time better, spend fewer health care dollars and spend them more wisely, and they need to respect and communicate better with other health care providers such as nurses, social workers and paramedics. They also need to understand and appreciate that we live in a world that is culturally and economically diverse and patients may have values that differ from theirs.
