Patrick Gingras - Technician

pag photo.JPGPatrick was born and raised in Ahuntsic.
He grew up listening to the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Hendrix, and Janis Joplin.
When he was 13 years old he read an article about a sound engineer in " L'HISTOIRE DU ROCK " .
He was fascinated by the pictures of the sound board.
That's when he decided to become a sound man.
After graduating from high school, he studied cabinet making.

Patrick then worked at a HI-FI boutique for 8 years.

He also volunteered at CIBL in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve as a radio technician.

At the CEGEP in Drummondville he studied "Technique d'enregistrement et de sonorisation musical"
In 1991 he got his diploma and started work at Radio Canada in 1993.
Since 1999 he's worked at CBC.

He's the proud father of 2 daughters, and when is he's not working, Patrick enjoys cooking, reading and spending time in his chalet in Batiscan.

Pierre Landry - Arts reporter

P.landry.JPG

Maybe it was because he watched WKRP in Cincinnati religiously as a young boy in the late 1970's, but Pierre Landry has always been fascinated with radio.  He would call his local Top 40 AM station in Northern New Brunswick and request songs by Michael Jackson, The Police, Men at Work, and Platinum Blonde.  By the late 80's and early 90's, he was a regular listener of Brave New Waves on CBC Radio and became a fan of Sarah McLachlan, The Grapes of Wrath, and R.E.M.

It was in 1992 that Pierre finally found the courage to host his first show on college radio in Moncton.  That led him to pursue a career in broadcasting.  In 1996, he was the first host of Bande à part on Radio-Canada.  He moved to Montreal in 1997 to become a host on MusiquePlus.

When he is not listening to music, he enjoys going to the movies and spending time with his 2 daughters.

Pierre has worked at CBC Montreal since 2005.

Sabrina Marandola - Writer-Broadcaster

sabrina.JPG

Sabrina knew she wanted to work in Journalism ever since she was 9 years old. She took part in public speaking competitions at her elementary school, and that's where she discovered her passion for storytelling.
After attending elementary and high school in Montreal North, Sabrina went on to graduate, with distinction, from Concordia University with a joint specialization in Communications and Journalism.
Her professional career began in print, before she entered broadcast journalism - working in radio and television.
Sabrina was thrilled to join the CBC team in 2008, honing her skills as a writer/broadcaster, news reporter, traffic reporter, producer and researcher.
When she is not working, Sabrina cannot get away from her Italian roots. She loves to travel to Italy every few years to visit her friends and relatives...and she has an addictive passion for pizza, high-heeled shoes, and dancing.

Sara Germanotta - Writer-Broadcaster

Sara photo.jpgSara Germanotta has been with CBC Radio Montreal in various capacities since 2000. She's done everything from early morning research and traffic to reporting in the CBC Montreal newsroom. Sara has been a Writer-Broadcaster on Homerun since 2006.

Sara is a proud Italian-Montrealer. She was born in Montreal and raised in St-Leonard, Montreal-North and Laval. Sara is a graduate of both McGill and Concordia Universities.

Nathalie Walther - Producer

NAT.NEW PHOTOZ 003.jpgNathalie Walther is a full blooded Montrealer. She was born at the Montreal General hospital, and her parents still live in the home she was brought up in. Though it's on the West Island, Nathalie knows the city very well.

As a teenager Nathalie spent many a Friday and Saturday night in the city. She was the only one of her West Island friends with a car so she was always the designated driver. Instead of knocking back beers and shooters Nathalie was burning up the dance floor.

Later on Nathalie developed a passion for gourmet food.
She dined at the city's finest restaurants... sampling the best they have to offer (do steamies and poutine count???)

Then came university life. Nathalie is both a proud graduate of Concordia and McGill. She started her career at Daybreak in Montreal. Then she moved to Quebec City, and the Gaspe. All the while working for CBC Radio. She is now Producer of Homerun--a show that drives to the heart of Montreal.
