Landmark legal victory for Kenyan rape victims

A Montreal human rights lawyer is celebrating a victory today. A court in Kenya has ruled the government failed to protect young women and girls from rape and that there constitutional rights were violated. Pearl Eliadis is involved in a unique Canadian-African partnership, 160 girls.

Charbonneau Commission

Today at the Charbonneau Commission, retired construction entrepreneur Gilles Théberge suggested a system of corruption and collusion in Laval was controlled by former mayor Gilles Vaillancourt. Steve Rukavina is following the commission today and he joined Sue Smith in studio.

The Leonard Report

A report looking into how to prevent abuse in the awarding of municipal contracts has been released at Montreal City Hall. Former PQ Minister Jacques Leonard headed an advisory committee that made 60 recomendations. Jean Fortier was president of the Montreal executive committee under Mayor Pierre Bourque.
