Student Protests

Student leaders are far from satisfied with an offer made by Premier Charest today to try and bring an end to the 11 week student strike.The premier is offering to spread its planned increase out over 7 years instead of five. And he's insisting students return to school.Student groups say they will bring the matter to their various assemblies...but they are not optimistic the offer will be accepted. The Quebec Government is taking Air Canada to court. They're fighting to keep aircraft maintenance jobs in Montreal. Tonight CBC - TV's  Doc Zone marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic with a new documentary."Titanic:The Canadian Story" explores the Canadian connections to the disaster: Of the 2200 passengers and crew onboard Titanic, there were 130 men, women and children bound for Canada. Alan Hustak is the author of the book that was the basis for the documentary.He also acted as a historical consultant on the film.

He founded "Radio Haiti-Inter". It's the first Haitian radio station to broadcast in Creole. He was assassinated on the lawn of the station in April 2000.
