Homerun's Earthquake Coverage

Today's 8.9 magnitude earthquake set off a massive tsunami that battered north-east Japan. Hundreds are reported dead.

Japan's capital Tokyo also felt the earth shake and disruptions are widespread.

On the show we spoke to Tim Hornyak. He's a Montreal-based journalist who worked in Japan. He also sent us some photos by his friend Brian Chapman in Tokyo.
This photo shows people stranded in Tokyo Station after bullet train services were suspended.

She came by the studio.
