CBC Short Story Contest: Mine

Some of the country's best new writers are vying to win the CBC's Short Story contest. The winner will receive a $6000 cash prize, and publication in Air Canada's enRoute Magazine. We've been airing excerpts of the finalists from the GTA. Daniel Karasik is a local actor, playwright and fiction author. His story "Mine", is told from the perspective of an elderly woman who's reflecting on her long marriage. This is Daniel Karasik reading from "Mine". Listen audio (runs 1:30)

To encourage thoughtful and respectful conversations, first and last names will appear with each submission to CBC/Radio-Canada's online communities (except in children and youth-oriented communities). Pseudonyms will no longer be permitted.
