The Royal Wedding described in detail
As the pomp and ceremony takes over the airwaves early tomorrow morning for the Royal Wedding - a couple of people here in Toronto will be in a tv studio, describing the nuptials down to every royal detail. They're part of a ground-breaking broadcast to help people who are blind or otherwise visually impaired enjoy the ceremony. The described video broadcast is being produced by the Accessible Channel. It will also be added on to the CBC broadcast, for those who need it.
But putting on a live simulcast of this magnitude has many challenges - especially when you've never done it before. Joining us to talk about what's involved were one of the two describers who will be part of the broadcast, Ruth Barrett, as well as researcher Diana Golts.
