G8 Spending and the Auditor General
An internet-based social activist group launched a lawsuit earlier today against Auditor General Sheila Fraser. The group, AVAAZ, wants Fraser's report on G8 spending released before election day on Monday, so voters can see what AVAAZ believes is improper spending by the Conservatives during the G-8 Summit. But Sheila Fraser has said her report cannot be released now because it has to go to Parliament first - and Parliament won't resume until after the election. So Avaaz is asking a federal court to order Fraser to release her report now. We spoke with the group's campaign director, Emma Ruby-Sachs.
