Sarah Blake, author of THE POSTMISTRESS
One of the novels making its way through book clubs around town these days is the novel, THE POSTMISTRESS. It's about the world during the early days of World War II, told through the stories of three women. Two of them, including the postmistress, live in a small town where many are oblivious to the conflict overseas. But the third woman, Frankie Bard, is in the thick of it. She is a correspondent in Europe, one of the first female journalists to cover the war.
Frankie Bard is the character many readers connect to most strongly and it may be because of what was in the author's mind when she was writing the story. We spoke with author Sarah Blake.
