Images Festival opens

The Images Festival opens tonight with "Rivers and My Father", a film by Hamilton director Luo Li.

When Luo Li started studying film at York University, his family back in China was supportive...but a little mystified. Things took a turn when Luo went back to China a few years ago, and his father gave him a draft of his memoirs. Luo was inspired and decided to go back to China to make a film based on his father's stories. When it was finished, Luo submitted the film for his Master's thesis and then sent it to his father... And then things got interesting...
