Pan-Am Games Internships for Athletes
Organizers of the Toronto 2015 PanAm and ParaPan Am Games have launched an internship program aimed at elite athletes. Game organizers have hired 10 recent university grads, all with strong backgrounds in competitive sports. The interns gain knowledge in a professional area of interest, while Games staff get a better understanding of what athletes need in order to compete at their best. It is called the Gateway Grad program. We spoke with two participants, Chelsey Gotell and Aaron GlynWilliams. Chelsey is an accomplished Paralympic swimmer, working as a communications associate. And Aaron is an avid runner, hired as a community relations associate.
