Infanticide Ruling

The Ontario Court of Appeal has upheld the infanticide law as a valid defence. The case involved a woman, referred to as L.B., who killed two of her infants, one when she was 17, then another four years later. The maximum sentence for infanticide is five years compared to life for a murder conviction. We discussed today's ruling with Emma Cunliffe, an expert in infanticide law and a professor at the University of British Columbia.
