New Episode Sunday - Measuring Up

Posted on Oct 19, 2017

As always, Heartland is off to a rocking start, and this Sunday the saga continues with the fifth consecutive instalment from the 11th season of television's favourite family drama.

Titled "Measuring Up," this Sunday's episode (October 22 at 7:00pm/7:30NT across Canada on CBC) was written by Bonnie Fairweather and directed by Ken Filewych. The episode features the return of Michelle Morgan as Lou, who finds a Heartland which has not stood still since she departed for New York.

When Lou arrives by taxi at the ranch, she finds that things are not running as smoothly as she had imagined they would. Meanwhile, Tim is forced to do damage control when Caleb makes a small (emphasis on 'small') mistake at the rodeo school. Georgie is faced with a difficult decision that may affect her future in show jumping. And as Jack and Lisa adjust to their new living situation, Amy struggles to take care of the baby by herself while Ty is away.

If it sounds frenetic it is, but presented in a fun way as only Heartland can. In fact, there are a lot of funny moments and moments of confusion, which can also be fun - and/or embarrassing. You'll understand when you watch it.

Now every episode invariably airs and has fans asking about the song playing at the end of the episode. "Measuring Up" has a special song, so I thought I'd tell you about it in today's blog - a first.

The song you'll hear when you watch this Sunday's episode will be "This Town," by Niall Horan, who is best known as a member of One Direction. This song is off of Niall's debut album as a solo artist. Titled "Flicker," the album is set to be released tomorrow by Capitol Records.

So I have preempted one post-broadcast question with the above but I suspect after five new episodes fans in Canada may have some questions, so next week's blog will be another ABWA or Ask Blog Whisperer Anything.

That will be next Thursday, because there will not be a new episode on October 29 - you know, Halloween weekend.

So if you have a question you would like to ask (1 only please) then do so as a comment below and if I can answer it I will in one week's time.

That's it for me today, other than to remind you to watch the new Heartland episode - Measuring Up - this Sunday at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland). I hope you can catch it; it's another good one.

And I will be back in answering mode one week from today. Until then I remain, as always, obediently yours.
