Less is More

The above kind of sounds like a title for one of my Tuesday Time Killers, but it's not! (Hmm - that being written, maybe a future Time Killer will be called that!)

No, the title of this blog is there to tip you off to the fact that I'm not going to be writing a lot today, but I do have some significant stuff which will be of interest to anyone looking forward to Season 8, and I also have some nice photos from production to share with you.

First - yesterday I tweeted the news that Heartland’s Tim Fleming - Chris Potter - will be directing the fourth block of Heartland’s eighth season. That’s great news because Potter’s episodes have always become fan favourites.

Today I'm going to reveal the names of the two episodes he will be directing. Here we go:

Episode 807: Walk a Mile, written by Mark Haroun

Episode 808: The Family Tree, written by David Preston

I tried to get a little information about each, and that is what I got - a little information. Still, a little is better than nothing, isn’t it?

In Walk a Mile, Ty makes great strides in his veterinary skills, justifying Scott Cardinal's opinion of him.

And in The Family Tree, Georgie gets visited by a long-lost relative (not her brother Jeff) and some very interesting things develop.

So that’s not bad, huh, for a Blog Whisperer who a week ago called the producers and asked, “What can you tell me?” and was told “Nothing!” followed by the abrupt sound of a telephone handset being slammed down.

But that’s what I have to do, right? For I need to get as much information as possible so I can keep the hard core Heartland fans up to speed.

Anyhow, that’s the main news from today. The other thing I have for you is this week’s selection of photographs, which include Shaun Johnston about to film his green screen promotional footage, and some cool production shots showing three kinds of birds - a great horned owl, an American bald eagle and a golden eagle - that were filmed in Block two under the artful direction of Bruce McDonald (That’s him in the hat with Alisha and the owl).

So enjoy these and know that I will be back next Tuesday with a new Time Killer and of course more info and news next Thursday as we power through summer and this ongoing Wait for Eight.

By the way, there were a series of Vines - 6 second short videos - shot during the green screen on Monday as well as during the gallery shoot last week. Check them out here!

I’ll be signing off now. Let’s all enjoy the summer; if you're going to be missing Heartland, there is no better season to do it in!

As always, I remain, obediently yours.
