Okay, "ages" may be an exaggeration, but given the chance any Blog Whisperer will always employ alliteration, which is the repetition of usually initial consonant sounds in two or more neighbouring words or syllables, as in Time for Tim, Super Spartan, Jovial Jack... well, you get it. WELL!!! There sure were a lot of great comments following last week's chuckwagon episode, both in here and on Facebook.
This week's all new episode is a good companion piece to last week's, as Amy has to deal with Sandra --played by guest star Kate Ross-- a former trick rider who loves her horse (Chaplin) but something just isn't right between them, and so she brings Chaplin to Heartland to ask Amy to re-home him. Oct 6, 2011

So here we are, taking our first break this Sunday (October 9) from broadcasting a new episode of Heartland.
As I explained on the Facebook Page yesterday, "Hockey Night in Canada" is going to broadcast the first home game of the new Winnipeg Jets - a clash with the Montreal Canadiens - on Sunday, October 9 across the entire CBC Network, and although in the Pacific and Mountain Time zones the game may be over by 7:00pm, new episodes of Heartland are never broadcast unless all of Canada can watch them at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland!) on a Sunday evening.
In a way the producers and everyone involved with Heartland are not that concerned with there being no new episode in three days, because that is also the Sunday before Thanksgiving in Canada, and a new episode has aired every Thanksgiving Sunday for the first 4 seasons, and the viewing audience was WAY down from the numbers the regular episodes received. So in some ways it's a good thing!
Now, instead of a new episode, viewers in BC (and possibly in Alberta) will get to watch a rerun of episode 305 - Glory Days. Those great photos of Amy and Jack in this post are from that episode.
Why Glory Days you ask? A good question. Is there something in that episode that is a foreshadowing of something still ahead in Season 5? Another good question, to which my answer is... maybe... ! (Heh heh) Read on...

Well, for many of you a burning question is about to be answered in this Sunday's new episode of Heartland, which is appropriately titled, "What's in a Name." 'Cause this is the episode where we all learn the name of Peter and Lou's baby girl!!!
If you'll recall, we held a contest to name the baby, and in May - from tens of thousands of entries - Catherine R. from Lacombe, Alberta was the first to suggest the name selected. And that was no easy chore, let me tell you, as even removing the inevitable duplicates there were thousands of different names suggested from all those entries.
So for over four months poor Catherine has had to keep the name secret, as have we all, with me referring to the baby as "Baby X" or "Mystery Baby".
Well, Baby X no more, as of Sunday! But of course that's not all that is going to be revealed in three days on CBC Television, when Heartland's third episode of the new season is broadcast at 7:00pm across Canada (7:30pm in Newfoundland). Read on...

If you've been following Heartland on Twitter, you'll be aware of a horse in Season 5 named Alcatraz. He's a special horse, with a special problem, and Amy decides that he's worth saving.
Alcatraz's story lasts for a few episodes, and because of some of the things he has to do, 4 different horses have been used to play his role.
Two weeks ago on set Heartland's Production Manager, Lorenz Augustin, happened to catch one of the horses - Razz - with his trainer Dewey, in the pen getting ready for an upcoming scene. Watch this clip to see one very well trained horse:

A few months ago Heartland ran a "Name Peter & Lou's Baby" contest that had tens of thousands of entries from fans across Canada.
The prize was Heartland DVDs, an autographed poster from the series, and of course bragging rights because the winner would forever be a part of the Heartland saga, for that person would be the one who first suggested the first name for a new (and newborn) character on Heartland.

Well, the last day of production before the Heartland cast and crew take a 10 day hiatus (break) from filming is the day before Canada's 144th Birthday. That's right - I'm sure most Canadian fans know that July 1 is Canada Day - a national holiday in the country that brings you Heartland! If you're reading this from another country (and we do have a LOT of international fans!) then now you know a little something about Canada that you maybe didn't know before reading this!
The photo at the top of this blog is from the "Ring of Fire" episode from Season 3. How Canadian is that photo, huh? (Or should I write "eh?").
Anyway, filming of the last 2 days of Block 3, covering Episodes 505 and 506, will take place Monday, July 11 and Tuesday, July 12, and then on Wednesday, July 13, filming begins on the next two episodes of this season's Heartland saga, and keep reading, for boy do I have some juicy information on that for you...

Yesterday the CBC proudly announced that Season 5 of Heartland - with 18 brand new episodes - would be coming your way, with the Premiere Episode airing across Canada at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland) on September 18, 2011.
And yesterday I also started the official countdown, as I've done on the blog here in past seasons, and although Sugarfoot was reluctant to go into detail yesterday, one day has now passed and so there officially are one hundred and one (101) days until September 18! Woohoo!
