Canada - A NEW Episode 702 this Sunday for you!

Well Canada, you came out in droves for the season premiere of Heartland, and on behalf of everyone involved in the production and broadcast of Heartland I want to thank you. The viewership for last Sunday's season premiere was as high as the most watched episode from Season 6! It's safe to say then, that the seventh season of the Heartland saga is off to a fantastic (I can't always use the word awesome!) start.

But we're not going to rest on our laurels (or our Kimberleys or our Helens) because we have the 2nd of 18 new episodes - #702 - premiering this Sunday right across Canada on CBC Television at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland).

On this site you can view the teaser trailer, and if you've downloaded the Heartland Companion app (which is getting great reviews; more on that later) you can actually watch the first 4 minutes and 45 seconds of this episode ("Living the Moment") in the App.

Written by Heather Conkie and directed by David Frazee, this upcoming episode tells a lot of stories (When have you ever known Heartland just to tell one?). Previously, when the season premiere left off, Jack (YES! I get to mention Jack again!) noticed that his old rusting trucks -- each of which holds memories for him -- have disappeared, all thanks to Tim. So, with the help of Ty, Jack roams the countryside looking for his beaters. The pair have mixed results, but they do come across something else that really piques Ty's interest. I think it'll interest fans of Heartland as well.

Meanwhile, Georgie has been practicing hard with Amy to get ready to ride Phoenix in an upcoming competition where she will be pitted against Olivia. Yes, Helen Colliander is back as Olivia to torment Georgie into doing something she is going to regret. But as often is the case on Heartland, there are lessons to be learned.

Also, a new character finds her way to Heartland. Dr. Tricia Virani, played by guest star Laara Sadiq, will visit the Heartland ranch in search of a horse but will find much, much more. That's all I'm saying about that!

So there you go Heartlanders, it's another new episode of Canada's favourite family series, and as the photos below will show you, it looks to be very entertaining...

Now I've received many questions from fans outside of Canada wondering both why they cannot download the new companion app, as well as how they can watch Season 7. The answers to both are connected and simple... the app is a companion app for Season 7, which is only being broadcast in Canada, therefore it's only available on the iTunes store in Canada. It's that simple.

In the United States, the UPtv network is doing a great job of catching up on Wednesday evenings, but they're a full season behind. They're not going to be able to broadcast Season 7 until they have broadcast Season 6. And because they are the only network allowed to show Heartland in the US, American fans of this series are just going to have to be patient.

Getting back to Season 7, the only channel playing it is the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (the CBC). Some people in the US do get the CBC signal, either by being close geographically to Canada or by having a provider that carries the CBC. Lucky you. I hope you enjoy Season 7 along with Canada.

For everyone else outside of Canada, I ask for your patience. There are illegal methods of watching the series which I cannot endorse, and anyone posting those sites in here or on our official Facebook page will find their comments deleted.

As for streaming the series, only this site has the right to do so, and because the CBC does not have rights outside of Canada, the streaming of all episodes is available only for those within Canada.

Netflix will be allowed to show Season 7 in Canada only after the CBC has aired all 18 episodes, and that will not be before the spring of 2014.

Now then, as for the new Companion App...

Allow me to explain a little about how it works getting it to sync... in order for the App to know which episode you are watching and when, it "listens" to your TV (or whatever you're watching Heartland on) and uses the iPad or iPhone microphone when doing that. So, when you're watching Heartland, make sure the app is allowed to access your microphone, and also make sure the volume on your TV is at a loud enough volume and if possible, very little noise or talking while the show is on.

If you're using the web version of the app, you'll need to make sure you have the latest version of your browser for the best results... personally, I've found that Chrome works the best, but if you find that isn't working for you, try a different browser like Safari or Firefox.

I've also had some questions about scoring points... there is a maximum number of points you can score per episode, and you can earn points all sorts of ways, from interacting with everything thing that appears on the map, answering trivia, polls, watching videos, hitting the "I Love Heartland" button, and sharing things on Facebook.

So that's it for this week, friends and fans. There are still many more stories ready to be told on Heartland, and CBC will be bringing you a new episode not only this Sunday, but next Sunday and the Sunday after that and the Sunday after that...etc! How cool is that?

In the meantime I wish you all a great Thanksgiving weekend. Have fun with your family and friends, don't eat too much (I'm going to ignore that one!) and I hope you'll join me on Sunday in watching the second new episode of this seventh season.

Please come back here after you have seen "Living the Moment," and let us all know what you thought of it. I always look forward to your comments, good or bad.

Until then I remain, as always, obediently yours,

Your Humble Blog Whisperer.
