Boy do we have a lot going on. I for one am glad that 100 episodes come around only once every few years. [click through for info and more photos from this Sunday's landmark episode of Heartland]
True story -- I was sitting in my office when a journalist called asking if I knew how rare it was for Canadian one-hour dramas to hit the century mark. He had done his research and told me that when Heartland broadcasts its 100th episode this Sunday (at 7:00pm across the country, 7:30pm NT) it'll become only the second English language one-hour drama to achieve this milestone. The first, and current record holder for longevity, was "Street Legal," which ran 124 episodes over 8 seasons on CBC Television from 1987 to 1994.
So nineteen years later, Heartland is going to hit the 100 episode plateau with the 15th installment of its 6th season, with an episode entitled "After All We've Been Through," written by Mark Haroun and directed by Stephen Reynolds.
I'm going to go into some detail about this episode, but before I do I want to explain that for a series to last as long as Heartland has it needs two things going for it; good storytelling and a fanbase who want to watch it. The writers, producers, directors, cast and crew have worked very hard to deliver the former, but it's you -- the fans of this series -- who have faithfully assembled during the family hour 18 Sundays every year, that have kept Heartland going. So on behalf of everyone involved in the making of this series, from the crew in Calgary to the post production team in Toronto to the CBC who proudly broadcasts it, I want to extend a huge THANK YOU to the fans of Heartland, for it is all of you who keep the series galloping along.
There are 4 more new episodes in Season 6, starting in three days time with episode 615. After two weeks of pre-emptions on March 10 and 17 the last three episodes of the season will air on March 24 (616), March 31 (617) and April 7 (618). This information is on the calendar on the home page of this website, but it never hurts to repeat the dates so everyone knows when they are on.
And now, some insight on what you can expect this Sunday.
To clear his own name, Ty searches for damning evidence to prove Jeremy was behind Buckingham's death. Meanwhile, Amy brings Spartan home where she tries to find a way to get him to face his extreme fear of the jumping pen, because his life depends on it. And Lou and Peter's attempt at a romantic weekend at the Dude Ranch is interrupted by a surprise visitor -- Peter's ex-wife, Eden, played by guest star Reagan Pasternak, who some of you will recognize from "Being Erica."
Also. against Tim's fairly wise advice, helpful Mallory turns to the internet to find romance for Jack, with very interesting results!
As usual, there's a LOT going on. And just when you think you have certain things figured out, expect to be thrown a curve ball. The writers of this series have a way of doing that!
Now then, if you have downloaded the Vine app you will have seen (in 6-second clips) the first few minutes of this episode (Look for us as "Heartland on CBC"). This is the first time something like this has been tried and it has made for some interesting clips for fans to watch. You don't need Vine to see these, just head over to our Twitter page and take a look through the tweets marked #100thEpisode.
This Sunday you will see those 6-second clips in their proper order, along with the rest of Heartland's 100th episode.
I'm sure most of you are aware that we have a little contest going on in celebration of this Sunday's 100th episode. Some lucky Canadian fan is going to get to travel to Calgary with their family later this year and meet the Heartland cast. Now you have to be 18-years of age to enter and some of you younger than that are concerned that you can't take part. Well I'm sure you have a father or mother or guardian who would be accompanying you if you won, so have them enter! Simple, huh?
You can enter the contest a maximum of three times. The first opportunity has passed, but your second just went up and can be found here. Good luck to all. For some lucky Heartlander it is going to be the trip of a lifetime.
So that's pretty well all I have to post in this week's blog. Every Thursday I've been your faithful servant, answering questions and supplying photos and information on the current longest running one-hour Canadian drama on television.
I'm sure you will echo my new alternate mantra (besides "Trust the Writers") which is...
Long may it run!
I want you all to have a safe and happy weekend and enjoy Sunday's new episode.
Here are some more photos from this Sunday's 100th episode. I will be posting additional ones over the weekend on the Heartland on CBC Facebook Page.

Until next Thursday I remain, your faithful and obedient Blog Whisperer.

hating on peter right now..... after seeing the facebook photo of him kissing woman, and now knowing that he's kissing the woman in a CURRENT episode, NOT a flashback.... well, let's just say i'm not a fan of peter anymore.
hope lou finds someone better who will be an awesome father (who is AROUND more) for katie + georgie. hoping it's not caleb. really don't like lou and caleb.
BUT so so excited for this week's episode!!!! horse issues w/ spartan, ty trying to clear his name, lou and peter and wife number one, and jack and mallory stuff in the background.... only character who doesn't seem to have anything going on in this episode is georgie!!!

I hope Peter doesn't cheat on Lou, they WERE so cute together... But on the other side I kinda hope that they will have a divorce, because Peter is never there for his family...
And I hope that Ty will get his job back at Scott's clinic, but not so soon... I will love it if Ty will work again on the ranch, he and Amy are so (!!!!!!) cute together!

Heartland has to beat "street legal"!!!!!!!!! We need it to keep going FOREVER!!!
I can't believe it!!!!!!!!! Peters ex-wife is coming and, from the picture from facebook, something will go terribly wrong!!!!!!!!! Will Lou find out???? What will happen to their family??? I am DYING to know what happens on sunday!!!
On another note, one thing I wonder about, is the security in the clinic. Surely there has to be security cameras in there.
I hope nothing bad will happen with Jeremy pulling a gun to Ty!!!!

What will happen with Peter's ex-wife?? Will Lou tell about Caleb????? How does Spartan's life comes to play with jumping again? Will Ty be able to save his dream? Will Jack and Lisa get back together? Who will Mallory find for Jack? Will Amy be able to get Spartan to jump? Oh my, This episode has so many things to be answered... But it's Heartland, we can always count on it for a good laugh (or a good cry for that matter). It's Heartland sooner or later (hopefully sooner) they will all come together and make it work. They'll vent and Tim will say something and make them all crazy but make us laugh!!! Oh I love Heartland!!!!!!!!!!
Huge Fan From The USA,

Congratulations to the entire Heartland crew on achieving this significant milestone.100 episodes is an amazing achievement in the age of reality TV.
I've always been curious what happened to Jack's wife, Lindy. I know she passed away but this storyline was never explored. I would think this part of Jack's past would make an interesting story arc and perhaps further explain some of his reluctance to commit.
If Heartland was a soap opera, Grandma Lindy would rise from the dead and wreck havoc and perhaps haunt them from the attic. :)

This episode sounds so exciting! I'm so excited that Heartland has reached the 100th episode, it's such a big milestone! I don't get why some fans want Peter and Lou to get a divorce, they're so good together. I agree that they have to work out some issues, but which couple doesn't have disagreements? I would be so sad if they divorced, it wouldn't make anything better. I have a feeling that the Lou-Caleb business will come up in this episode, so hopefully everything gets resolved by the end of the season. Oh and I bought the 1st season on DVD (finally!!) and there was a scene in one of the first episodes that made me smile. Ashley was flirting with Ty and she said "Do you really think you have a future at the poverty barn?" And that made me smile so much because we all know that coming to Heartland is the best thing that's ever happened to Ty,with Amy and vet school and everything! Thanks Heartland cast and crew for making the best show ever!

Boy there really is a lot going on right now! i am so proud of the Heartland cast and crew for being able to be of the few to last for 100 episodes. I've said it before and I'll say it Again YOU GUYS ROCK!! I hop Mallory doesn't do too much damage i really wish Jack a Lisa would get back together. As for Peter I think there is still the great, romantic, crazy-about-Lou in him. I hope that he knows that he has a great wife and a lovely family and he shouldn't mess thus up. As for Ty I hope that he doesn't put himself in danger because Jeremy is a jerk and as we all know will do anything to get what he wants (like getting Amy drunk). In plain and simple work he is a jerk. That's all i have for now. And I will be waiting for Sunday

So I hope he stay at Heartland till at least episode17. I love them together but I think Jermey is a jerk especially now that he holds a gun at Ty but I wonder how they are gonna end that scene maybe someone will walk in and thats how they now its Jermey but if the curve ball has something to do with Ty and Jermeys case I wonder what it is. Hello Blog Whisperer,
I have ALWAYS enjoyed reading your blogs and this one is truly BEYOND FANTASTIC. What do I mean by that? It is great to read that Heartland as of now has been the second longest running English 1 hour Canadian Drama series and the first being "Street Legal". I would be ever so truly happy and as long as all of the writers, producers, directors, the cast, the crew, those at the CBC, you BW and all that have a hand in the making of this gem of a show that we all call Heartland would be happy to continue on and to achieve beyond the 124 episodes that "Street Legal" had achieved. So, yes if YOU ALL agree I MOST definitely would like to see this achieved by ALL OF YOU together those that have molded this show Heartland into something of true meaning. And yes that is ALL OF YOU with all of the talents that each of you possess and we are as the friends and fans of Heartland lucky to have such impressive talent shared with us indeed. Thank you Blog Whisperer for mentioning also when each show will be aired and I HONESTLY look forward to watching every episode. SERIOUSLY.
I look forward to Ty being able to clear his name and Spartan trusting all of his surroundings again. The fact that Mallory is searching for a match for Jack on the internet does indeed sound interesting. I am curious what that will be like to watch. I hope all works out well for Lou. What do I mean? One can't help but care about the characters that are portrayed in this show. It is PROOF that the writing is truly impressive as one can't help but care about the characters in this gem of a show.
As I don't have the Vine app I did go to the Twitter page as you had suggested via the site here under: Twitter. I had watched the clips which I had found interesting and yes I had tried to watch some of them in order. I did find it interesting and a fantasic job in how they are looped together. Yes, that is a compliment MOST definitely. Seriously. Blog Whisperer THANK YOU for that is AWESOME to see. REALLY. (:
In regards to the contest and THANK YOU ALL for doing this. REALLY. To EVERYONE that has a hand in this. To experience the land that is Alberta and to be around the horses and other animals involved in this show. All things included in this prize for this contest is TRULY INCREDIBLE and BEYOND so indeed. Again, Good Luck to ALL who enter. I love the show and I am really happy for it lasting for as long as it has. I have only started watching the series no more than two months ago when I started watching it on Netflix. In less than two weeks I had myself caught up in the series. I watched the current season episodes on this site(CBC)to the point where the series had aired.....it was episode 612 that was the last episode aired at that point. I am currently re-watching the series as I love it so much but not as quickly. One thing I noticed was that "Amy" drinks a lot of orange juice. The show must go through a lot of orange juice in the filming unless I am mistaken.
I used to live in Calgary and watching the show makes me feel right at home.....especially seeing those majestic mountains. Also I can relate to a lot of the family situations that the family has to go through. With that being said I feel like I am right there in the series.....even though I am not.
I want to thank everyone who is involved in the show to make the show a success as without you all there would be no show and there would be no century mark episode. And without the century mark episode, there may not be a really cool contest that Canadians like myself can try our luck in winning. So thank you

I can't wait for Sunday! I just KNOW this is going to be an awesome episode!!!! Oh I hope Peter is kicked out by Lou, I never have and never will be a fan of him! And I really hope Ty finds a way to prove he didn't kill Buckingham, because we all know it wasn't him!
Thanks for the best blog posts!

I can't wait for the 100th episode. It's the first Canadian show I got hooked on and after watching the previous seasons on Netflix I can't wait for the new episodes. I met Ty on the ferry Christmas time and I thought I knew him for ever, such a nice young man and handsome too :) Keep up the good work actors and writers and everybody because your are sooooo good

I was wondering..
In the previous episode Amy had a flashback while she was watching the picture of her and Spartan who's rearing. But who made the picture actually? I thought she was alone in the field??

Thank you so much for the blog posts every week!(: Absolutely in love with this show!(: I've. never been a big fan of Peter and I'm for sure not going to be! I think Lou should just leave Peter..But I like that Caleb has been stepping up to help Lou out around Heartland, it shows that Caleb is grown into a man & is more mature (also that he needs a girlfriend but not Lou though.) Can't wait for Sunday's episode!(:

First a question:
Why on the credits it used to say Shaun as jack? It does not say this for anybody else...
Also whatever goes on with Peter and his ex-wife can I point out Lou is standing right behind them???
Ideally she needs to get back together with Scott - they were really cute together.

At the beginning of this series, I thought this would be like the book series. That's why I started to watch it... Now I'm obsessed. I'm glad it isn't like the books though. Otherwise, Amy wouldn't end up with Ty.

Heartland is a make believe show about ranching, horses ect with a devout following who live in this fantasy made for TV show. While real horses are being slaughtered some are using ALL their energies to attack the horse advocates who are asking Questions about horses that have been used on the show. Being rude will not stop me from asking questions & actually trying to save some real horses…. What has happened to some of the horses? Inquiring minds need to know.

BW - I have a question for you, I am not sure if you are able to answer. I was wondering if you are also in charge of the Heartland Facebook Page, Twitter Account, Mallory's Twitter, and Lou's Blog? I completely understand if you are not able to answer the question but I thank you for taking the time to read it anyways!
The 100th episode looks... AHHHHHH! I am so excited for the premiere and I will be watching at the edge of my seat the entire time!
Thanks again BW and keep on whispering :)
