As promised, the CBC is proudly premiering a new episode of Heartland this Sunday. Click through for more photos and lots of information on this episode, as well as fun photos from last night's Halloween festivities and an important message for our American fans.
+++++++
So last night it was Halloween.
Trick or treat, the haunting scene.
I said that I would take a look
At photos posted on Facebook
Of fans dressed up in some disguise,
And that I would (for I am wise)
Select the best among the best
And post them here so all the rest
of you could see what made me smile.
Check these out now for a while -
I was really impressed with Jessica Katelyn and her horse Dixie, who went full throttle Egyptian as Cleopatra and her royal chariot. A nice costume for both owner and horse. Bravo!!!

The thinking outside the box (Heartland) award went to Josie Dinsmore, who passed on the idea of dressing up as Amy and decided to go Heartland Patriarch as Jack Bartlett. She has the folded arms thing going, don't you think?

And although there were indeed a lot of clever and well-thought-out costumes and disguises from all of you who posted photos, I decided to select this one from Kacie Lynn Farris, who with her horse Annie were clowns, while her best friend Bethany Lyon and her horse Cisco dressed up as hippies. Even though the photo is a bit out of focus, what really was clear was the fun Kacie and Bethany had doing this, and this was all about fun.

So thanks again to everyone who posted a photo. We will have to do that again, maybe around Christmas time. I'll give you more notice, and then we can award some prizes! Oh yeah!!!
But let's shelve that for the moment and get back to the word "FUN," for that is usually what a new episode of Heartland brings, and this Sunday (November 3) is no exception.
Writer Mark Haroun has scripted a clever episode called "Helping Hands," and Grant Harvey, who directed last week's episode, was the man directing this clever episode that introduces us to Jeremy Hughes -- this season's guest character, played by Rhys Ward, who plays a very good jumper who has a very good jumping horse (another series guest horse -- Buckingham). Amy decides to investigate when Jeremy refuses Scott and Ty's suggested treatment for Buckingham. Two words: Drama Ensues!
But there's more going on in this episode (isn't there always?) as Lisa wants Jack to buy a property with her in France and he's forced to admit what he really thought of their time there. Is honesty the best policy? Well... yes, but sometimes it takes courage to tell the truth and face the consequences.
And the Georgie/Mallory dynamic is still very active, for when Georgie makes a big mistake that could land her in very hot water with Jack, Mallory has to decide if she'll bail her out.
As I wrote, there is lots going on in this fun hour of Heartland. You can watch it across Canada at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland) on CBC Television.
And since we are mentioning 'time', let's all remember that this weekend is the one where we "fall back" and gain an hour of sleep. That extra hour will give you 60 additional minutes to look forward to seeing this Sunday's brand new episode of Heartland. (Ain't I a glass-half-full kind of Blog Whisperer?)
Now I will be answering questions during off-weeks, when there is no new episode of Heartland to tell you about, but I am going to answer one question that gets asked a lot by our American fans, all wondering how they can watch Heartland. In three short paragraphs, here goes -
The ONLY network playing the current Season 6 is in Canada - the CBC. And some Americans can indeed get it. If so, lucky you. Check with your provider - you might be able to get the CBC which besides Heartland plays a lot of great original Canadian programming.
The CBC has the rights to broadcast Heartland in Canada ONLY, so although each episode gets streamed online the following day, if you are not in Canada you cannot watch it on the CBC website.
The exclusive American broadcaster -- currently playing Season 4 -- is GMCtv. Search them out and you can find their website, and they are also on Facebook right here. If you have any questions about Heartland playing in the US, go ask the good folks at GMCtv. They will be the ones with the answers.
And it's that time of year again. Amber Marshall, who we all know and love as Amy, will be appearing at Toronto's Royal Winter Fair Rodeo this Sunday, November 4. If you are in the Toronto area, head on down to the grounds and catch Amber before you head back home to catch her on this week's all new Heartland episode. For more details on the RWF, go here - http://www.royalfair.org/
Now for one more bit of exciting news, the Heartland iPhone game has been released! You can search for Heartland in the app store, or simply visit HERE to pick it up. Don't forget to rate!
So that's all for this week, Heartland Nation! In three short days "Helping Hands," the 91st overall episode of Heartland will premiere for all of Canada to see. As I always write, come back here and let us know what you thought of it. And don't forget to post your opinion on Facebook as well.
That's it for me; there is a large piece of pumpkin pie with my name on it. Yumma yumma yumma!
Until next week -- so long!!!

This episode looks good. Going to assume Lisa doesn't take the truth too well considering Jack has to face the consequences. Glad we'll finally find out what happened in Paris. Wonder what trouble Georgie finds herself in now.
Can't wait.

I love Heartland it’s my favorite show even compared the ones here in the US it’s just different, a good decent show that I am wrapped up in, but I am starting to see a pattern...Ty and Blaire, Amy and Chase!!! Now it's Ty and Cassandra and watching the preview for next week I heard Amy (Amber) say to Ty (Graham) "you don’t think there is anything going on between us do you?"(meaning Amy and Jeremy) Oh boy I don’t think I can handle that again there better be nothing going on between anybody except Amy and Ty!!!

No pic of Ty this week? Oh man!
This does look like another good episode, but it does sound like we're going to see a lot of drama. It'll be interesting to see what happens between Jack and Lisa. We'll this be the end of their relationship?
I don't like this jealousy block for Ty and Amy, but I guess couples do go through it. I just thought they were past that since they were being open and honest with each other last season, which was supposed to make them trust each other. I think they trust each other, so why all the jealousy? I hope Amy handles diffusing of Ty's jealousy as well as he handle diffusing of hers last episode, although I still saw a little from her when she was about to leave the clinic near the end. Hopefully they'll have a talk that will solidify once and for all that they belong to each other and only have eyes for each other.
Can't wait to see more rivalry between Mallory and Georgie! It keeps me laughing!

But I think the writers make this episode type to maintain the suspense ... The only thing I really want is the wedding of Amy & Ty, and happens in several episodes with preparations, etc. ...
I think we all look forward to this moment ...
The episode will be very good as always! Thank you All the CBC & Actors! and thx for the sum up!

Heartlands season 6 is not as good or dramatic as the other seasons used to be like Mallory is way to mean and careless in this season Amy and Ty aren't really romantic Anymore and Lou and Peter there love life has gone wayyyyyyyyyy down and Tim he's a two timer how could he kiss Miranda one week and Janice the next Miranda and Tim are meant to be all the new people in season 6 are messing heartland up I used to be happy to turn on the tv to CBC every Sunday at 7 o'clock pm but now I just think that there is now point there's probably someone new just messing the episode up not to be mean or anything but the mystery kid books nancy drew are getting more romantic then heartland.

Heartland is so far ahead of all the other programs that their producers won't live long enough to catch up. The who series has several stories going on all at the same time. The programs are clean and no more passion then we would see in our home in the middle of the day. nothing wrong with a little hug or a kiss. But as for raw sex NO not there. it is the absolute best family show on the TV. i will say this to the writers. pay attention to the comments. for your next episodes. it will be a hit.

Otherwise please everyone involved in the show please keep up the good, hard, quality work and the fans please keep watching and let all your friends know. Makes me feel proud to be a Canadian, everyones heart is in the right place.

It sounds like it might be good but one thing I will say to many of the other fans out there expecting a wedding at some point, you are going to hate me sorry XD :
I doubt the writera will let them get married while Ty lives in a trailler and is paying for vet school (even if it's with Mrs. Bell's help). It's just not the right time with Ty not being financially stable to afford anything like a wedding, and I can't see the pair living in the trailler.I mean even lou and peter moved into their own place (in another country) after their wedding. To those who would say they could live at Heartland, it might be a little awkward as newlyweds with Jack there all the time...
Just some food for thought?

Kacie and Bethany - Your Halloween picture is hilarious. Looks like your horses were dressed-up by Chase Powers in one of his "de-spooking" clinics! Boo-tiful job! We do the same thing at our barn every year with all the students. It's amazing what some horses will put-up with being dressed-up for the occasion :>)! I often wonder what our equine friends are thinking to themselves about humans on this day!

In response to Shadowecho02, I'm thinking the sad thing that happens has to do with Mrs. Bell. As Ty's "honorary" Grandma, she would naturally leave him a portion of her estate, (remember the large sum of money she came into?) Ty would have all the money he needed at that point. Just more food for thought. We shall see...

Can't say I'm really looking forward to this episode...but maybe it'll surprise me. I already think the show is being stretched to thin this season with too much going on, so I can't see the addition of another new character changing that for the better. With so many new faces and many of the faces we've come to love getting very little(if any) screen time, the show just feels very different than the show I came to love. Also, just my opinion, but I'm not too thrilled seeing the season focus so much on show jumping. Season 1 focused on that, so I kind of have a 'been there/done that' feeling to that. I'd rather see more episodes with single-episode guests and problem horses like in earlier seasons. It just seems like those simple stories with Amy helping a problem horse one week and the next week another new horse and guest show up are slowly going by the wayside for the much bigger stories with recurring characters that last a whole season to play itself out. IMO that's more along the lines of becoming a soap opera than a simple family drama about this family's life on a ranch.
Twyla wrote:

That second picture does NOT look good. PLEASE PLEASE let there be no Amy/Ty/New Guy thing where Amy and Ty will go one step forward and two steps back!
Hally wrote:

I agree with Frisco, at least to the extent that I think the show would feel much better to viewers/fans if there could be a season (Season 7 maybe ?) where the focus returns more in depth to the main characters lives and stories. No need to go beyond the characters - individually and in their relationships - of Ty and Amy, Peter and Lou, Jack and Lisa, Tim and Miranda, Mallory, Scott, Caleb, Shane and Georgie. And Val, Soraya, Jake, Mrs. Bell, etc. if they're still around. Let's get deeper into those characters and also back into horses, horses, horses. Let's see these wonderful characters grow and become more real again so that there's enough there for the audience to hold on to and believe in them as authentic characters. Way too much going on now. Just feels awfully frenetic this season, and because of that, often superficial and soap-oper-ish. Pull-up, stop the galloping, and return to a slow canter or even a walk for Season 7.

I just started watching Heartland over the summer, I watched all 5 seasons in two months. I love the show, I think it's the best family show on television right now and I hope it stays on for a long time. I'm surprised that I have not seen any comments about Tim's character. Maybe it's because I watched at least one show a day consecutively but he drives me crazy! I am really hoping that the writers make his character grow up in the coming seasons. All the other characters seem to grow, learn and mature except Tim, he hasn't changed a bit and it makes me crazy! Every time he enters a scene, I sigh and brace myself to be annoyed. I understand needing characters to stir things up but please let him grow up at least a little bit! Aside from that, fantastic job on everyone's part!

To Frisco:
I don't know if you know this but all drama shows are like that. Look at any in the past. They start out with single or small stories and as more seasons go by, they build into a bigger stories that span whole seasons. The same tool is used in sci-fi shows, and comedy/romance shows. In the show Supernatural, they started the series with a different story every episode, now it's a different story every season. Friends also somewhat used it. While each episode had it's own story, they also contained a continuation of a growing "whole" story too. Basically what i'm saying is there's no point getting annoyed with it because it's how television series work no matter how some fans would rather it happen.

Was impressed with the way Mallory handled Georgie losing the horses. Was funny how Remi would only come to Georgie. Couldn’t believe Amy sort of lead Jeremy on. This episode was Ty’s turn to be jealous. Loved how he told Jeremy to stay away from Amy. Mallory was sure happy to get him as her coach which was brilliant of Amy to plan so that he’ll have the money for treatment for his horse. Jeremy seems like a great addition to the show.
What’s with no Caleb again? It’s been 6 episodes and we’ve only seen him once for 10 minutes.

I don't mind having someone else, aka: Jeremy, in the show teaching Mallory show jumping. Though I'm not at all keen for any more drama between Ty and Amy. Not even because they are "meant to be" cause I don't necessarily even think that. They certainly haven't dated anyone else too seriously other than each other. I wouldn't mind if they dated other people as long as the other person wasn't constantly moping or pining. But we all know that fans wouldn't want to see any couple but Amy and Ty. But in this day in age having only one boyfriend is rare. Happens, but definitely not the norm. But anyways off on a tangent. I just think love triangles and jealousy with Amy and Ty..we've seen enough, it has been done way more than enough now!
I like that Mallory is settling in with the new situation. But it's fair, where her feelings are coming from. I can understand that.
I love Lisa, she has been so understanding with Jack since season 1. I will be sad to see her go to France.
I do NOT enjoy the Georgie character. I don't think she adds much to the storyline of Heartland at all. Enough with the "are you going to tell Jack? Are you gonna call Clint?" I find her annoying, and has wayyyy to much attitude. And for a girl that doesn't want to go back into another foster home, she sure not behaving all that great in the place that she "wants to stay." It's suppose to be a temporary thing.. I hope it comes sooner rather than later that they find new foster home for her!
I would much have her gone and focus on the other characters of the show. More is not always better. Love the Bartlett-Flemings, and the main non-family characters (ie Ty, Caleb, Peter, etc).

Gee, I hope Jack wasn't reaching for a glycerin pill in his shirt pocket! That was quite a little discussion he and Lisa had there on the fence line. I'm afraid this is a foretelling of a family crisis up ahead. Maybe the resolution will be Jack and Diane retiring to their house in France after Jack recuperates at Clinique Mozart-Linstitut Cardio Vasculaire.

Does anyone know the song that was playing that had lyrics saying something about "go hard or go home"? I can't find it anywhere and I fell in love with it!

The scenes with Jack and Lisa in this episode are some of the most touching and beautifully/perfectly acted ever in the show. Such pros. "And the 2013 Gemini Award goes to Shaun Johnston and Jessica Steen." Doesn't get any better than that Canada.

I really like the episode probably because it wasn't so focused on Georgie. I do have to say I was not impressed with how Amy handled Malorie. I mean Malorie is feeling like she is invisible, that nobody likes her, and that Georgie has replaced her at Heartland. Amy's response to Mallorie is to grown up which is a very immature response.

I loved the episode this week! Watch out people who haven't watched it.
I think Lisa should understand and not break up with Jack but she did anyway (so mad at her!)!! I love Amy and Ty and I just might break my TV if they break up again!!! I hate Chase Powers and was hoping he'd never show back up!!!!! Oh, well, it's Heartland theres gotta be some drama! I LOVE HEARTLAND!!!
Annie
P.S. Did anybody else but me like it when Mallory said, "Trust me, their celebrating," to Georgie a couple of episodes ago?

"I'm a coach, that's what we do, we motivate... loudly." Love it! Funny partly because it's so true, although Amy's approach to training/instructing is definitely quite mild compared to what most of us have experienced from time-to-time in our own training and attempts to learn to see and solve issues of others among our equine and humankind pals. Amy is the type of trainer/instructor kids (and adults) dream of. And on the subject of coaching/mediating/counseling, even though I have zero qualifications regarding giving marriage type advice, I have some suggestions for Jack and Lisa to consider to fix their issues, which seem mostly geographical, and to a lesser extent, about relatively superficial cultural stuff (cowboy hats, plane rides, food, and jet-setters.) They both love horses and beautiful country, right? OK, here's my advice: #1. You two take a trip to Australia or New Zealand and look for some gorgeous horse property to buy together there as a place to spend a warm and romantic 2-3 months of their summer every year when it's frigid winter-time in Hudson. #2. Come on Jack, how tough would it be to spend 4-6 weeks/year with Lisa in France? You love her right? France/European adventures will grow on you, I promise. Are you willing to be the only man on the planet to give-up someone like Lisa because you don't like "roughing-it" in France for a month or two every year? The snobs there aren't any worse than the ones at Val's or Jeremy's stables. And their wine is better. Really, if nothing else, just gut-it-out for the sake of compromising a little with your soul-mate. How tortuous would life be spending April-May during Heartland mud-season in the French countryside, November-January in AU or NZ, and the rest of the time (the 7-8 months of Alberta's best weather) at Heartland?! #3. For Pete's sake, stop the high-school stuff and get married. You're not going to live forever Jack. Lisa, you won't find a better man. You guys were meant for eachother, and it's time to move forward. The sand in the hourglass isn't standing still for you. Time to muck-out the round-pen of your inhibitions, open the gate, and run for it on your inner-Mustangs! (OK Jack, it's fine if you'd prefer to run on Old Paint.)

I really hope Jack doesnt let Lisa go that fast. If he really loved her like he told Amy he wouldn't let her leave. As for
Amy and Ty through this whole Chase Powers thing again, they'll get through it, Ty knows that Amy loves him and he trusts her. Can't wait for next weeks episode.... Almost half way there!!

I injured my leg 2 months ago, so I had many a day sitting in my over stuffed chair. One day I started to flip through the Direct TV line up one day. I found 338 GMC. It has all my old shows I love Judging Amy, Touched by an angel, 7th Heaven plus a show I never heard of Heartland. I immediately fell in love with it. Unfortunately we are only in season 3. However, I have a roku box on my tv. Im sure you all know what it is. Well,I can open up youtube on my large screen TV. I searched season 1, season 2, season 4, season 5. Go on youtube you get all shows except season 6. There are a some from season 6 on there (episodes 1-6) however you cannot open em up and there is a disclaimer they can not be uploaded because of youtube copyright stuff. I do want to thank what appears to be canadian viewers uploading all the shows. Now, Im waiting for season 6 to open up on youtube

This is the first time in a long time where I've been excited about Amy's story line. She doesn't have many scenes where she acts like a twenty-something year old (no other friends or parties?) and even though I love her and Ty together, I think the Smokin' Hot Pony Boy made her a little flustered! Make him a regular so Ty has to fight for her and their romance makes a comeback!

It will be interesting to see the reasoning behind Ammy's decision to work with Chase. He is a selfish liar and manipulator.Ty warned her the last time not to get involved but as usual she paid no attention to his advice. Chase almost broke up she and Ty,almost ruined the relationship with Saraya and Amy's business working with horses. If ty has warned her again and she doesn't listen which looks like she doesn't Ty should really look at how much respect she has for their relationship. He sure doesn't look too happy.

This season is critical for Heartland and its characters to get hard and real.
Amy is starting to look like a serious Alberta horse woman....not a country gal who likes to play with horses.
Jack Bartlett needs to find a real woman who is his equal, one with true western grit and soul. Lisa is not the right match for Jack. He should wake-up. If a man like Jack Bartlett has to pretend to like something...or can't be open and honest with Lisa about 'France'...then she not the right woman for him. Period.
Jack et al. have to 'get real' about what they are living for and believing in. The Alberta soil beneath their feet is where their true soul resides and is honestly reflected in a tenacious hold to family and community. Let's get down to the tough business of finding yourself in the land you love.
