Enough of the word quizzes, trivia challenges, spot the difference puzzles and otherwise Thursday off-season ramblings... IT'S TIME FOR THE SEASON 6 PREMIERE of HEARTLAND. [Click through for more information and photos]
To those of you who've been with me the entire time since the end of March when season 5 ended, I hope you've enjoyed the ride and you've been amused, enlightened and otherwise entertained by this blog and by the posts on Heartland on CBC's Facebook page and the hundreds of tweets from production.
To those of you who have just joined me, welcome! Season 6 is shaping up very nicely and everyone is champing (yes, champing - look it up!) at the bit to get this season on the road, which debuts on Sunday night at 7pm (7:30 NT) across Canada on CBC Television.
As you can see, I've been offering a visual countdown to the premiere from the crew, which I've hoped has been a chance for you to see some of the hard working craftspeople and artists who help make Heartland the show that it is. Today there are 3 days left until Sunday's premiere, meaning you will get 3 more visual countdowns (that would be 2... 1... and 0).
But I know what you really want to know... What's going to be happening this Sunday? Let me give you a few clues, both in the images here and in what you are about to read.
The episode, entitled "Running Against the Wind," is written by Heather Conkie and directed by Stefan Scaini, and it sets up the season quite nicely.
Weeks have passed since Ty didn't propose and Amy found the ring in his jacket pocket. Neither has forgotten about it, but they haven't spoken about it either. Not to each other at least -- so there's a bit of a "comedy of errors" going on which we're all going to enjoy.
The episode starts with the introduction of this season's guest horse, Phoenix Rising, a horse that has run away from somewhere and wound up at Heartland. This is one runaway that loves to jump, as you are going to see.
There is a second runaway as well, of the human variety, and this one is going to make quite the impact even before being seen. I won't go into detail, but let's just say a major "Oh no!!!" moment is going to take place.
Of course Tim has a plan to get rich, Lou and Peter are discovering the Hanley Barn is not as simple a renovation project as they thought, and Jack is there to hold the fort down (so to speak) as he usually does.
It's a brand new episode of Heartland, and that's the first time in nearly 6 months I have been able to make that pronouncement.
So enjoy the last two days of waiting and come back here and let us all know what you thought of the episode after it airs across Canada this Sunday, September 16 on CBC Television at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland).

Amy looks amazing with Phoenix Rising! I have seen a couple pictures of Amy falling off of him so I hope it is nothing serious... Like the hospital!

I think georgie has run away from the group home because her brother can now go his own way and she ends up at heartland while she is on her way to him. georgie stays at heartland and I think she is kind of getting the same story as malory.
and as for amy and ty I read that in the second episode he is getting second thoughts but if you look at the preview thet cant be better.

I hope Georgia isn't a replacement for Mallory because the actress is in her late teens (18 same age as me, a bit younger by several months). Her characters seems somewhat similar to Mallory. All I know is I can't wait for Heartland season 6! :)

well BW thx for the info ... and thx for a nice off season. Also like to extend some gratitude to heartland and its hard working Cast & Crew for keeping us entertaint in this awfull long wait.
As we all know we had to keep our fingers crost for sometime to find out if this season was happening, lucky for us fans cast & crew our excitement and our anxiousness soon went over in to overjoyed as we found out a 18 episode counting new season was press released.
Now that we are finaly ariving to the first episode beeing aird our wait is over, were cast & crew are still bussy filming the seccond half of this seasons total count of episodes. Our ( fans ) relaxing time has started.
nodoubt that all of us fans cast & crew will be tuning in however to see this premiere. At the same time a new exciting periode starts ... how will the numbers of this season hold up. and is it enough for CBC to go out of the box and save place for season 7 early!! ( i do hope so )
seccond to least BW its not only you i want to thank, but also all those people that tweet,reply on facebook and wright trough the BW name. As we all know by now that BW isnt just one person ( yes who ever is responsible for the majority of the posts and calls them his spies, i know you consider your self the only true BW ). It became obvious for me trough the off season, the difrent kinds of writing styles and the likes. I have to say i am somewhat touched by the devotion of the heartland team to keep the fans in the loop. So thank you!!!
Last but not least i want to thank the core fans who keep us entertaint with daily stuff in life, articles photo's pictures, movies and the likes about heartland. specialy naming people like Frisco, enrique, Dennis, Leanne, Caroline, Cara, and not to forget ofcoarse our 2 detectives Val & Irina ( sorry in advance if i forgot a few )
So by now i should end this thing i guess ... you know someting ... lets just wait kick back relax and whatch "our show"

I'm so excited for the Season 6 Opener on Sunday. I have been watching all of the other 4 Seasons all summer and waiting for season 5 to arrive any day now. I recently got my daughter hooked, what a wonderful show and I'm so proud of all these Canadian actors and actresses. The crew that puts together the show does an excellent job :)
I'm an Alberta Girl as well and love to see the Rockies and beautiful Canadian backgrounds in this show. Thank You all so much.

I am also GRATEFUL TO YOU BW for the countdown it "IS" a REALLY SWEET THOUGHT. SERIOUSLY THANK YOU. :)
This episode does indeed look to be a truly good one and I know that I will enjoy watching it. (I am trying to tone down on the capitals. It has become an addiction for me. Yes, it is an odd addiction. - Yes, my words in regards to myself - to myself only. I had to stop myself from putting the word "only" in all capitals.)
I am certain that both the writer Heather Conkie and the director Stefan Scaini both did a truly incredible job at creating this episode. Why do I say that? Because there is true dedication of those that work on this show. I can also see as I have seen that each person puts their heart and soul into this show and that does make a difference in the final product as well as doing a fantastic job at pulling at the heart strings of the viewers. For some reason I just had wanted to add that here.
A storyline about a runaway horse and a runaway human does indeed sound like a good show. I am also certain that there will be more interesting things to see with what is going on between and with all of the other characters on the show as mentioned above. Yes, I am most definitely looking forward to watching the Season Premiere of Heartland and also the rest of the season.
Again, it "IS" because of ALL of you that help to create this show that have a hand in the making of this show and the CBC why I am PROUD to be Canadian. It is NOT a bad thing to be encouraged to like your country more because of being impressed by the talent that you see here. Yes, Blog Whisperer you are apart of that equation also. THANK YOU ALL OF YOU for affecting this viewer's heart and her soul. SERIOUSLY THANK YOU.

Ok so, i have this fairytale theory that the person running through the tree's is Mallory, coming back to heartland to stay with everybody, that jack has had an amazing time with lisa and is now back giving his advice, that clint has returned only to check up on how everyone is and amy is continuing what she loves, now being engaged to Ty!!
That when i came back to reality resizing that no i doubt that Amy is engaged to Ty :( (well the promotion vid gives that away!). That sadly Mallory is not the on running away but the new character Georgie who's clint's case at the moment and being brought to heartland with her horse Phenix.
Sadly i feel the character Georgie is trying to replace Mallory which can not be done as Mallory is an individual and can't be replaced by anyone. No matter if Mallory returns (fingers crossed) or doesn't she will always be apart of heartland forever.

BW, when season 5 ended and we all anxiously waited the fate of a season 6, you were there to help us along. Then we were granted season 6 and you filled the unbearable gap between seasons. How can we thank you enough. Now that the wait is almost over it seems like the time flew by.
Since I am in the US I won't get to see the season premier as quickly as the Canadian residents but I will see it soon. I have my ways. :-)

The ring on her finger in the first pic is the promise ring Ty gave Amy. I soooo wish that was an engagement ring! SO EXCITED, 1 MORE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, last year, I kinda stopped having to be home on Sunday nights because I felt the show wasn't a must see - it was getting too boring/repetative. Amy and Ty were solid, Lou was frantically trying to run businesses, Tim with some hairbrained money making idea, and a house and Jack was puttering around fixing everyone's problems. I really like Mallory's character and the way that the actress portrayed it. She was fresh and funny and she played scatterbrained chatterbox to a perfection. I really missed the development of Mallory's character where she only popped in and out of last season and was disappointed when she left - for what seems to be forever. I was on the end of my seat when she and Jake were saying goodbye - thought it was young and sweet and could have been a great story line, especially had Badger popped up this season. I actually bawled when she and Jack were saying goodbye and have watched it approximately a hundred times online since then with much of the same results.
So, tonight, I turned into the season premiere and while it was great to have Canadian TV that's current and well made (great job by the cast, crew, producers, make up and hair, everyone!) it disappointed me there was no big event - no real suprise (we all knew that kid was around and it just got almost sad at the end and just cheesy when she escaped on Phoenix), and everything was ho hum the same - Jack saved another kid by letting them stay, Lou crazy atr work and still not happy in her house, Ty and Amy still fumbling around, Tim with some stupid money making idea, and worst of all, no Mallory. There's getting to be no reason to watch any more. Now - the previews for next week is the new kid discovers a new set of abused horses. That makes one of the predictable three episodes on that this season. Exactly how many farms is there within driving distance of this barn that are abusing horses.
Those being my gripes, don't get me wrong - I love this show. I just think that if they don't bring Mallory back (a character that all just loved for her crazy ways and unpredictable ways that can just make you laugh outloud) and if there's no big changes/shakeups/events - they may start losing more viewers, as another poster said before.

I turned on to the channel here in USA that Heartland was always on and no Heartland. Than I start reading comments and the show dont sound interesting at all dont feel like I missed anything. Have everyone forgot where last season left off with Ashley's boyfriend riding in the rodeo and gets seriously hurt. I thought this season it would show what actually happened and continue that. And mallory not in it. Well I dont feel bad now that's its not here in the states. Sound like a big let down. real bummer. I waited all this time for this episode thinking that was going to be the action of this new season NOT. All other show series continue from last episode...Just glad Im not missing anything.

ended on a cliffhanger with Amy showing Ty the ring!!!
It made it look like she was the one who took the ring.
I hope Mallory will come back soon because I know everyone misses her!!!
I love the new horse Phoenix, he's a beautiful horse!!! I can't wait to see what happens more with this horse!!!

I am waiting to get season 5 on dvd because where I live we mostly don't get it on TV. I have all 4 seasons plus heartland christmas on Dvd's and have really enjoyed them all. Keep the coming .

Loved the episode. Was disappointed that Amy found the ring in the season 5 finale. Now she's found it again. Wish Georgie would have put it back herself or gave it back to Ty. Felt bad for Ty. He was so upset after the second attempt to propose. He has tried 5 times. Glad to see him back in the loft. Hope he moves back. Ty's hair seems more Graham then Ty. I hope Amy and Ty both explain everything about the ring. We don't need a repeat of the Blair situation. Ty was shocked that Amy had the ring in her hand. Hope they work everything out.

I discovered this show by chance in New Zealand, got hooked and bought all 5 series from Amazon on my return to the UK. Watch them all with great interest. I love the characters, the horses are magnificent and the scenery is breathtaking. All characters are played beautifully. Please ty, ask Amy to marry you, you really belong together.
Can someone tell me when it is going to be shown in the UK and o n which channel? I can't wait, I am really addicted yo the show.
