Here we are with the first long weekend of the summer upon us. Yes, with fireworks about to go off from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast on Sunday, celebrating Canada's 145th year of Confederation, summer is now in full swing. Read on!
Also in full swing is the countdown to Heartland's Season 6 premiere - a scant 87 days away until Sunday, September 23. That's 12 weeks and 3 days away. I for one am SO looking forward to seeing what the new season of Heartland will bring!
Including today there have been 4 episodes completely filmed, along with 3 days of capturing scenes from episodes 505 and 506. Filming continues through tomorrow and then the cast and crew are taking a well deserved break from production for 10 days. As I've explained before, most of the key cast and some crew are not Albertans and so the production schedule has been set up to let these people return to their homes from time to time to spend time with their family and friends.
For one Heartland cast member --Michelle Morgan-- everyone's favourite Lou Fleming, it is going to be a weekend she never forgets as she and her fiancé Derek are tying the knot this Saturday. I'm sure you'll join me in wishing the two of them a fabulous wedding!
Production filming --and along with it daily Tweets from set-- will resume Monday, July 9! Not that we're going silent on Twitter - there are always fun things to leak share!
Plus, this Sunday, July 1, you can enjoy a repeat broadcast of Episode 511 --Fool's Gold-- which is the episode when Megan Follows returns as Ty's mother Lily, with the sad news that Ty's father has passed away. I've included some photographs from the episode in this week's blog.
Hopefully you can enjoy the repeat broadcast and then find someplace to celebrate Canada Day wherever you live. Even if it's not in Canada! ;)
Last Monday's time killer tricked a few of you and had you wearing out your scroll button as most of you finally came to the correct conclusion that the two identical photos were #1 and #5. Photo #2 has a rock missing on the left side of the horse, Photo #3 had different tree branches in the background between Amy and Ty, and Photo # 4 had Amy holding onto a longer loop of rope than in the other photos. Good one, dontcha think?
This Monday may be Canada Day, but it is also Time Killer Monday, and I'll have another mental exercise to keep Heartland fans around the world alert and engaged.
Watch for it. Until then, and until next Thursday when we lop another 7 days from our ongoing countdown...

B.W does the first photo above come from season 6 of heartland???? (I haven't watched all of season five that's why I'm asking.) It looks interesting and if it does I can't wait to see what will happen. It looks like Ty and Amy are have dinner together. Ty looks a little tense so I think he's going to pop to question. I enjoy reading the blog about the show and the production behind the scenes -not just with the show itself, but learning about the personal lives of the cast. I feel I get to "know" everyone on such a personal level, that it's like inviting old friends into my living room every week when the show airs. As a fan, I already enjoy the show of course and I get wrapped up in the story lines and want the show to continue. But as a "friend" its even more important to me to see the success of the show grow to incredible heights, and it's even more important for me to see the growth, happiness and success of each of the crew that makes the show so special!

I must admit I was holding out hope that Amber and Graham would get together but I'm not surprised it's Shawn, ever since he and Amber showed up together in Sean Hogan's videos. They looked like a couple in them and I'm sure they'll be happy. I hope the wedding will be in Amber's home town. We're all pretty proud of her around here. There's just happy times all around for the entire Heartland family. Everyone's getting a few weeks off to reacquaint themselves with their friends and family. Michelle is getting married this weekend(congrats Michelle and Derek). Amber has gotten engaged to her awesome cowboy(not to mention a few of her animals have gotten roles on the show). I gotta think the atmosphere has been pretty good on set this week.:)) Now all we need is to have the fictional characters of Ty/Amy to parallel the happiness that is surrounding Michelle and Amber, and I'd say this is going to be one of the best years for all things Heartland as you could hope for.:))

Just want to point out once again BW that I'm pretty much finding the 'new' community forum unusable. Before there was a formatting problem that I posted about a week or so ago when you clicked on any certain topic. Now when I go to any particular forum(like 'General Discussion', or 'Episodes' or 'Cast & Characters') and click on any specific topic, instead of taking me to the topic itself, it just takes me back to the main community page. In other words, I can't see any posts for any topics unless I click on the topic in the 'Latest Post' column on the main community page. So the community as a whole is pretty unusable for me at this time. Hope someone is still working on the pages to correct these issues or the activity on the community forum is simply going to dry up.:))

At sat down a few weeks ago with my daughter going through are movie site she came across heartland she tells me that she read some of the books so I sit down and we watch the first episode of the very first season and from there we where hooked we have been getting very excited about each and every episodes from there on it has been something that her and I have able to talk about we have been able to catch some of season 5 we both would like see AMY and TY GET MARRIED!!!!!!
We have notice that there is a connection between Amy ,Ty and ghost to we both feel that there is another bond between them to this is another way we feel they also belong together
