A lot of you had fun last week coming up with 5, 6 and one 7-letter words that could be formed using only the letters from the word HEARTLAND.
"There's more of that where that came from," I said to myself! And so I went back to the alphabet well and found these 4-letter words - all of them common words heard every day (except 1, where I went back to the title of a Shakespeare play), and I've put together another puzzle for everyone to solve...
So here you go! Using only the letters H, E, R, T, L, N, D and the letter A (you can use A once or twice), fill in the one word answers to the clues given. (Hint - only one of these 4-letter words has 2 letter 'A's in it!)
What sits on top of your neck.
The first word that starts off most letters.
You have a left one and a right one and each probably has 4 fingers and a thumb.
Opposite of early.
It's sharp on one end, has feathers on the other and is thrown at a board.
You pay this every month to a landlord who owns the place where you live.
Will someone turn up the _______? It's cold in here!
Heartland director nominated last week for a Gemini Award
What you are doing at this very moment - eyes taking in words and understanding.
What you don't want in the bumper of your dad's car when you bring it back.
A road the backs of houses face, or Superman's Lois.
Another way of saying 'darn'. A mild expression of anger or frustration starting with 'D'.
You work at your job in order to ______ a living.
To bring to an abrupt stop.
To speak or write in an angry or violent manner
Opposite of soft or of easy.
Used in expressions to introduce a contrast. Jack was older ______ Tim.
Over hill and over ______. Also, Chip's chipmunk partner.
Title character from a Shakespeare play. Has daughters Cordelia, Regan and Goneril.
When you challenge someone you sometimes "double ______" them!
I'll turn up the volume. There. Can you _______ it now?
The element having atomic number 82 and symbol Pb. A heavy metal.
Grasped, carried, or supported with one's arms or hands
This is a bunch of cattle or horses. Not lions - that would be a pride!
What a plane does when its wheels touch down.
Another way of saying 'drat'. A mild expression of anger or frustration starting with 'D'.
A kind of fat, used for cooking.
September 18, for example, the ________ of Heartland's 5th Season premiere.
Related to borrow.
The opposite of far.
This is the plural of the word 'datum'.
To rip, also a wet drop from your eye when you are sad.
What you might call someone who knows all of Saturn's moons by name.
What you do when you pass out the playing cards one by one.
What Scott Cardinal is trained to do and what Ty is learning to do.
An opposite word to false. Also means genuine.
A sea bird. Also, a medium blue green colour.
To incline or bend from a vertical position. Also, a piece of meat with no fat.
Often mistakenly called a rabbit.
Next in order of time: We ate dinner, ________ we watched Heartland...
Have fun!

Hey BW!
First of all I want to say thank you for the amount of dedication and effort that you put into this blog. It makes the wait between season so much easier for all of us. I also have a question. Do you know if any of the cast of Heartland will be making any appearances in Ontario anytime soon? I would realllly like to know. :) Thanks again!
[Blog Whisperer: Nothing is scheduled at the moment, but I'm SURE it'll happen, so stay tuned! ]

Some are really hard. But the second I read that you used a Shakespeare title, I knew exactly what it was. We read that during my English class! Loved it. Regan, Goneril and Cordelia! Sigh, such a good play. Good job BW!
