Well, the last day of production before the Heartland cast and crew take a 10 day hiatus (break) from filming is the day before Canada's 144th Birthday. That's right - I'm sure most Canadian fans know that July 1 is Canada Day - a national holiday in the country that brings you Heartland! If you're reading this from another country (and we do have a LOT of international fans!) then now you know a little something about Canada that you maybe didn't know before reading this!
The photo at the top of this blog is from the "Ring of Fire" episode from Season 3. How Canadian is that photo, huh? (Or should I write "eh?").
Anyway, filming of the last 2 days of Block 3, covering Episodes 505 and 506, will take place Monday, July 11 and Tuesday, July 12, and then on Wednesday, July 13, filming begins on the next two episodes of this season's Heartland saga, and keep reading, for boy do I have some juicy information on that for you...
So, what can I tell you about the next two episodes? Well, Episode 507 is titled, "Over the Rise," and it was written by Ken Craw. In it, an interesting new character that Caleb befriends is in need of a mechanic to fix his vehicle, so Caleb suggests Ty, who knows his way around an engine. However, the vehicle is not exactly what anyone would have expected... Also in this episode, Tim takes his children on a bonding trip that results in one of them getting locked in a jail cell. However, the jail cell is not exactly what anyone would have expected. And once again Heartland introduces a species of animal that has never been on the series before. I won't say it is an animal that you might not have expected, because when we did this last year fans were suggesting everything from a sloth to a koala, so I'm going to once again leave it to your imagination. Except I will tell you that it is NOT a sloth or a koala!
And Episode 508 is titled, "Nothing for Granted." Written by Mark Haroun, this episode deals with job offers, future plans and honorary grandmothers, which some of you know will mean we're going to have Mrs. Bell and Sugarfoot doing what they do best on the series. I will not reveal anything else, except to add that this episode's going to end on a "What the... ?" revelation that will really have you counting the hours until Episode 509! Heh heh heh...
And I'm pleased to inform you that Heartland's Producer for all 5 seasons - Tina Grewal - is going to be stepping into the director's chair as she is going to direct both episodes 508 and 509. She tells me she is very excited to be doing this!
That's a lot of juicy stuff about upcoming stuff of Heartland, and because tomorrow is a holiday I'm going to cut this short and take my horse Bloggy for a ride over the weekend. I am poring over some of your questions and I'll have a comprehensive list of answers for you next Thursday. Promise!

Hey BW, the calendar on the home page that says what re-run episodes are playing next? Well Sunday June 26 and Sunday July 3 both say that the same episode will be airing...is today's re-run episode just going to be the one that played last week? Just like Tirza, I started watching based on a Netflix suggestion and I got totally addicted. I've watched the episodes multiple times now and can't wait for season 5. Wish they came out faster here in the US. Luckily I have connections in Canada, where some of my relatives live in Ontario. I really like the music in the show and have been downloading from Itunes my favorites. It got me thinking about Ty's guitar... Will we see that again?

I know that you guys like to feature Canadian music artists in the episodes, so I REALLY want to recommend Calum Graham - who is FROM High River, AB. He is an acoustic fingerstylist who won last year's Canadian Guitar Festival (he's only 19), and has been touring the Calgary area. I just thought it could be a neat idea... his instrumentals are phenomenal, and he has fans all across Canada. Apologies for posting this here, wasn't really sure where to go :)

I would really like to get an autograph of some of the crew. But actually I don't know how to do so. I mean I know the address where I have to send my letter to but do I have to put in kind of a "back-letter", you know with my address (I'm not from Canada) on it and stamped or how are you doing such things?? Because I was told that the stamps of my country wouldn't help you in Canada to send me the letter back as I would have to use Canadien ones. That's why I'm quite confused. I love the photo of Shelby above. It's too bad that Heartland couldn't feature her talent a little more in the Ring of Fire episode. Shelby and her partner Cassie have put in hours upon hours of training with their horses, and it was great you were able to offer Shelby a space on your show.
Would love to see her or Cass, featured again, for more than a split second!!!
