Dear Heartland fans,
As you know, every Thursday - come rain or sleet or snow or wind or dust storm - I faithfully post news and information about your favourite TV series for all to read and enjoy.
Today is a special post for several reasons, but mostly because it's the last Thursday before a new episode of Heartland airs for quite a while... This Sunday - March 27 - as I've repeated a lot both here and on Facebook, is the Season 4 Finale of Heartland!!!!!! Click through to the blog post for news, a NEW CONTEST hint (!) and photos from the Season Finale.
Before I get around to letting you know a little about Episode 418 - "Passages," written by Heather Conkie and directed by Dean Bennett, I want to fill you in on a few other things.
1) First and foremost, we're going to repeat what we did last year by keeping this site very active in the time between this Sunday and the premiere of Season 5's first episode in the fall. Just because there are no new episodes doesn't mean that Heartland fans don't want or need information on the series, so I will be posting secrets from the 5th Season production, games, contests, photos, updates and all sorts of things to keep you all informed, for that's what a Blog Whisperer does! So don't go away!
2) Secondly, Season 3's DVD set was released on Tuesday, and from all reports they have been flying off the shelves. Thank you for that, and if you have yet to buy the third season (or if you are looking for Seasons 1 and/or 2), please make sure your DVD retailer has them in stock before you go out to buy them. Some stores may not have ordered enough or else they may not have received their shipments yet, and I wouldn't want anyone to be disappointed. As always, if you want to purchase the set online, the CBC Gift Shop has it. To do so, go here - http://www.cbcshop.ca - and type "Heartland" in the search field at the top of the page. You can also get it from Amazon.ca.
3) Thirdly, we're down to the last couple of DVD giveaways in our two week contest. Congratulations to those who have won, and good luck to everyone else as our final two draws take place tomorrow and Saturday. Now, speaking of contests...
4) We're ending Season 4 with a very unique contest that is going to let one lucky Heartland fan be a part of Heartland history. I can't go into great detail, except to tell you that the contest will be announced on CBC Television and here on the site immediately following the Season Finale, which of course airs this Sunday. It's open only to Canadians (I promise we'll have an international contest or two in the spring and summer though!), and although I will not give you the full details, I will suggest you try this puzzle over at the quiz/puzzle/trivia website Sporcle.
You certainly don't have to do this puzzle, but you may find it fun, and also you can look at it as practice for the upcoming contest. Hint. Hint.
Full contest details will be posted here on the site (where else?) on Sunday evening right after the Season Finale. I'm counting on your creative powers to have fun and help the production with something that they desperately need. And that's all I am going to write about that!
And now, the reason most of you are here - we have some concluding to do in episode 418, "Passages."
In the 4th Season Finale, Amy and Ty work through their trust issues as they train a pair of Clydesdales, but it's an emergency at Heartland that reveals their true strength as a team when it matters most.
Tim is still reeling from the knowledge that Shane is in fact his son but he finds himself bonding with the boy despite himself. Bad feelings resurface between Caleb and Val when he accuses her of manipulating Ashley and her decision to go away to university.
Meanwhile, Lou's due date is still three weeks away. She's moody, uncomfortable and sick of being pregnant. She wants the baby now, but as the saying goes: "Be careful of what you wish for."
Mallory is in fine form in this episode as well, and Mrs. Bell and Sugarfoot make what can only be described as a helpful appearance.
Again the show welcomes guest stars Maxim Roy and Sam Duke as Miranda and her son Shane, who continue the drama from the last episode. I also promised two new characters as well as a new breed of horse and the two Clydesdales (Bonnie and Clyde) deliver on both promises... heh heh heh...
I totally enjoyed watching this and I know you will too. Thank you all for being the greatest fans a series could have, and on behalf of the cast, crew, producers and the CBC, I invite you to once again enjoy a brand new episode of Heartland, the Season 4 Finale, in three days time - on Sunday, March 27 at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland) on CBC Television.
When it's over (or the next day) I want you to flood this post with your comments, telling us all what you thought of it. Everyone is looking forward to your thoughts!
Your loyal Blog Whisperer.
