When we last saw Amy she was heartbroken, but life goes on and troubles abound for more than Amy and Ty in this new installment of the Heartland saga. Click on through for more on the episode, photos, and contest winners!
First up, a couple of houskeeping announcements:
1) We just reached 40,000 fans on the Official Heartland Facebook page (at facebook.com/cbcHeartland) ! Woohoo! My not-so-secret goal was 40,000 by Christmas and we only missed it by a few days. Next goal: 60,000 fans by the end of the season. Think we can do it? I do! But I need help. First of all, I know that there are FAR more visitors to this site and blog than we have fans on Facebook, so if you aren't already a fan, head on over there and "like" Heartland. You do like Heartland, don't you? ;) Here's the thing - I want us to eventually beat another popular show that shall (for now) remain nameless...
2) In December we had a Heartland Christmas Contest, with the prizes being Seasons 1&2 on DVD, a large Heartland poster signed by Amber Marshall, and a shooting script of the Christmas movie, signed by many of the cast as well as the writer and director. And we chose TWO winners. Today I'm pleased to announce, out of the thousands and thousands of enties sent in, the winners are: Baylea T. from Grimsby, ON, and Ruby C. from Toronto, ON (Ruby, if you are reading this you owe me a signed form! Hurry!) So congrats to you both. Post a comment below and take a bow! And for everyone else, there'll be another contest coming along soon, along with more international giveaways on Facebook and Twitter!
Okay, back to episode 411 - "Family Business".
Still not in the best frame of mind after her recent break up with Ty, Amy fights to keep Lightning Dexter in the family when she learns Tim is putting his horse up for sale in a claiming race, something Janice believes is the right thing to do.
Ty is also struggling with the break-up as well, neglecting his schoolwork to help Caleb hustle money at a pool hall (always with the clever plans, those boys!) And of course, Chase Powers gets involved in the Dexter claiming race ordeal and makes things even more awkward between Amy and Ty in the process.
Meanwhile, a newly pregnant Lou has a great idea for the baby's nursery that doesn't sit well with Jack (I'm betting it's bunnies, hundred and hundreds of live bunnies. Everywhere. Just kidding.) And Peter has problems of his own as he tries to conduct his company's business from Heartland. What about Mallory? Well, Mallory is growing up and reaches a decision that she may come to regret later.
A lesson in doing the right thing, even if it doesn't seem right to others at the time, "Family Business," written by Ken Craw and directed by Francis Damberger is sure to have you commenting here when you've seen it. I'm counting on it!
Enjoy the new Heartland episode this Sunday at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland) and do tell us - myself and all the rest of the Heartland fans - your thoughts.
