As I reported here last week - thus again confirming this blog as THE place to get new Heartland news - the season 4 premiere episode is entitled "Reunion," and it will indeed be a reunion of sorts across Canada when fans of Heartland sit down with their families to watch the first of 18 new episodes airing over the following months. Click though to the blog post for TONS of new news!
Today is August 26, which means we have exactly one month (31 days and 4 Thursdays) until the new episode arrives (at 7:00pm on Sunday, September 26) and I see from your comments last week some of you have seen the season preview on CBC. It's now on the main page of the redesigned Heartland site too, so check it out!
Speaking of which, welcome to the new site! What do you think? As it states on the main page, this is "Phase 1" - it may not seem like there's much new stuff here right now, but just you wait... look for a ton of exclusive content, new features, mind-blowing contests, and more to roll out over the next few weeks and months. And join the community to connect with other heartland fans! We're also going to be branching out more with Facebook and Twitter to spread Heartland as far across the web as we can - and you can join in!
Meanwhile, back on the ranch...
On set, everyone is at home, filming at the Heartland ranch until the end of the week, when cast and crew get a well-deserved break of 9 days until the 6th of September. This gives everyone time to take a vacation or just get back home and relax with friends and family before returning to continue filming.
And remember Millie, the tractor at the Millarville Fair (If you don't, check out the Thursday blog of 2 weeks ago)? Well, the turnout for the draw was huge and a local woman by the name of Myrna McKay won the tractor and promptly gave it to team Heartland, so Millie will be appearing as a background player in an upcoming episode of Heartland. Yay!
So, to those who wanted to see Millie set on fire or bombed, it ain't gonna happen. Heartland has donated the tractor back to the good folks at the Priddis Millarville Fair, with the instructions that if they ever raffle her off again the winner has to agree not to let anything harmful happen to the tractor, so she can continue to lead a nice quiet retirement!
Last week horselvr98 asked, hey! i was just wondering, do you know if heartland will be doing a meet and greet thing in Calgary anytime soon? to which I replied, "Yes indeed, Calgary area Heartland fans! Put Saturday, September 11 on your calendar and check back here nextThursday for some exciting details!"
Well, true to my word, here are the exciting details - Amber Marshall (Amy), Shaun Johnston (Jack), Michelle Morgan (Lou), Graham Wardle (Ty) and Jessica Amlee (Mallory) will be attending the Spruce Meadows Masters on Saturday, September 11. As most horse lovers know, the Spruce Meadows Masters is considered the flagship event of the Spruce Meadows Season. On Saturday the Heartland cast will be introduced to the crowd at the International Ring as part of the annual Parade of Nations, and then they will take part in a 2-hour meet and greet, when fans will get to meet them and get autographs. It should be totally fun. If you're in the Calgary area, come down and spend the day! This is one of the best equine events in Canada, and the presence of Heartland cast members will make it even better!
In news from down under, ABC Television in Australia has brought out a 3 DVD set of Season 1. The street date is September 2, so if you are in Australia, here is your chance to own your own Heartland series. For additional information go to http://shop.abc.net.au/browse/product.asp?productid=790016
Now that we have all that behind us, time again for some questions!
1) Ashley asks, Just wondering if you know what channel heartland will be coming on in Dallas Texas??
Because you are the first to specifically ask about a city in the U.S. I will tell you, Ashley, because now the stations, dates and times are falling into place! In Dallas you will be able to watch Heartland on the CBS Station KXTA Saturday evenings beginning September 18 at 9:00pm.
Dallas is confirmed, as are a lot of others (Heartland will be playing in close to 200 markets in the U.S., reaching over 97% of the American audience!) but I am holding off listing the rest of them until all the dates and times are set, at which time I will let you know all the stations and when they are playing Season 1 of Heartland. Watch for it here!
1a) Anonymous asks, I was wondering what channel in the US that heartland will be airing on and when it will start to air... I hope you can help me.
Hi Anonymous! (Is that your real name?) I answered this above, but I want to make sure everyone is clear about this. Heartland is being shown in syndication, which means it is on a variety of stations across the U.S., not just on one network. As you can see, the series will be playing on CBS in Dallas, but it will also be playing on some NBC, FOX and ABC stations in other cities. And it will be playing on the entire CW network, along with other independent stations across America. Watch for the full list here when I post it over the next few weeks.
2) Emma asks, is the Christmas movie gonna be one of the books like the winter special winter memories, or is it a completely new story?
Good question, Emma. "A Heartland Christmas," the 2-hour movie to first be broadcast in Canada this December, is a completely new story, written by Heartland's Showrunner Heather Conkie.
3) Annie asks, Did Ashley and Caleb get engaged at the end of Series 3? I got a bit confused XD
A little confusion is a good thing. Who wants to know everything anyway? On September 26 "Reunion" will clear up a lot for you. So will reading canadiangurl's answer...
4) Jesse91 asks, I LOVE Ty&Amy together!!! BUT: Does Amy fall in love with that friend of Ty????
I don't want you to go too crazy (but a little bit is sometimes fun, no?) so I'll tell you that the person from Ty's past does not in any way get romantically involved with Amy. You can breathe easier now, Jesse.
5) Mary Ann asks, I was just wondering if there are any pictures of the dude ranch guest house & area. Have never ever seen any & it is part of the Heartland Ranch.

6) Mikey asks, will heartland series 4 air in Australia????? cause i luv it and i just saw the series final.
Heartland has caught on in Australia and I think if you call the good people at ABC you will find that in addition to rebroadcasting season 3 beginning this weekend they're going to be making plans to air season 4 across Australia.
7) Stephanie asks, When will the rest of Season 3 be uploaded online? The last episode is 312 - The Reckoning. I want to catch up so I can start watching it on TV in the fall!!
You can catch up by watching Sundays at 7:00pm on CBC - the regular time for Heartland. Check out the calendar on our home page to see which episode is airing for a second time and enjoy it. After it airs CBC will put it back up in their player so you can watch it online again.
8) shygirl asks, hey blogwhisperer my uncle was looking on amazon and he found season three of heartland for pre order but you said it wont be available until next year i ws just wondering whts going on.
E1 Entertainment Canada says they are looking at releasing Season 3's DVDs at the end of February or in early March, 2011.
Also, a few weeks back someone reported they were having trouble finding the Heartland Season 2 DVD sets in the province of Quebec. E1 tells me that you can purchase the series at FS, BB, Wal-Mart, Archambault, Renault Bray, Metro Video and HMV.
9) Sam asks, I was just wondering about a clip that was mentioned on the blog not to long ago. It is the one that was showed in the theatre. What theatres are showing it? Will you be posting it on the blog any time soon?
The Cineplex movie theatre chain in Canada played it during the month of July, and I'll have it up here soon for you to see. Sugarfoot is insisting on it! and I am not one to argue with Sugarfoot.
10) horse hugger asks, Hi!!!!!! I was just wondering........ are all the Heartland episodes shot in Alberta on set, or are some shot in other parts of Canada???
Heartland is 100% shot in and around Calgary, Alberta.
11) Timothy asks, I saw tonight's episode again where the horses get strangles and have to be quarantined. I remember someone mentioned when this episode was first on that strangles is caused by a bacteria and not a virus as mentioned in this episode. I had checked on the internet and it is indeed caused by a form of bacteria. I am curious as to why they said it was a virus and if a cast member or someone in the production end or one of the writers knew this. I would think certainly Amber Marshall would know. Any idea why they said it's a virus? Also still waiting to find out about my pictures from the Orangeville rodeo. I'm hoping for something soon.
Yes strangles is a bacteria. It is mentioned 3 times in the Quarantine episode and has been corrected for future viewings and for the DVD release. Unfortunately last Sunday the original episode aired by mistake.
Sometimes you do research and you get wrong information. You will hear some people say after they cough, "I think I may be coming down with a virus," when they don't know what they have. Some experts mistakenly told our writers that strangles is a virus and it was caught too late, but like I said, it is being corrected for future screenings.
As to the rodeo pictures, I've made a phone call and something should be done shortly about it.
12) Rather.Be.Riding asks, I noticed Lou with a green purse in a few episodes. I love the purse and wondered what make it is and where I can get one. (GOT TO GET THAT PURSE!!!!!! :)
I totally agree! I'll ask... if it can be got I will let you know where.
13) Julie the french girl asks, I was wondering if we'll see Badger ? Him and Mallory remind me of Ty and Amy at the beginning; and by seeing him again I mean really seeing him, not just phone calls to Mallory...
Badger will be appearing in person during Season 4. There, now you know! (But this is NOT the guy with ties to Ty, so that mystery is still out there).
We are getting much closer to the premiere now - aren't we?

In response to your comment about Heartland 'down under' good luck getting a reply from the ABC here regarding season 4 and the Christmas movie.
There is a message board on the ABC website where I have been asking questions but I am still waiting for answers, my last post on 15 August still has not been answered, I have just added another.
I had a quick look on the ABC website as BW mentioned that season 3 was going to be repeated from this weekend but could not see it. I believe what will happen is that season 2 is currently being repeated at midnight Tuesday nights, with only two episodes to go, and they will start showing season 3 at this time from then. This is one of my questions I have asked but am still waiting for an answer. I am also trying to find out when we will start seeing season 4 and also the Christmas movie.

I just noticed in our local paper that Amber Marshall will be making a guest appearance at the Horse Wish Gala at the Wilson H2 Ranch in Woodville, Ontario on August 29 from 1 pm- 8 pm for autographs, pictures and a riding demo. Well, another summer has gone by and now Season 4 is starting. I'm not gonna judge the promo too hard since I haven't even seen the episode, but the only thing I grasped out of there was bad acting. I've watched several promos this week since all the fall dramas are starting, and a lot of them I can't wait for...Heartland wasn't one of them. It just dawned upon me that nothing ever really happens, I mean sure Lou gets married and moves away etc. but nothing really happens that would change the show. It was fun at first but not so much anymore.

Pour les personnes Françaises qui recherches les DVD intégrale de la 1 et 2 elle sont disponible en dvd sur site Amazon.ca ATTENTION si vous commander sur site vous riquerer d'avoir grosse suprise pour les personnes qui achète en France, car quand on commande on pense que le prix des dvd ne sont pas trop chère, même a la fin en payant votre commande car vous ne payer pas de TVA. Dès que aller recevoir les dvd vous aller payer une TVA très chèr car le colis n'est pas envoyer par le service postal mais par la transporteur DHL j'en fait l'expérience a plusieurs reprises car je commande souvant sur Amazon.ca. Les langues disponibles sont en Anglais et en Francais, les sous titre seulement en Anglais. Les Bonus en anglais seulement.

Im hearing that there is going to be a lot of tention in season 4! Will Amy and Ty break up? I don't mind them arguing and maybe splitting up for an episode but they belong together. I reallly hope that they will stay together!

Regarding someone mentioning having trouble locating the song "Unbreakable" on iTunes, I too have been looking for it but haven't been able to find it yet either. I have also looked on iTunes and Amazon for the couple George Canyon songs and several others but can't locate them. I would think at some point they would be available. Most of the other songs I was able to find and I really enjoy the music, especially the ones by Matthew Barber. The music really adds a lot to the show.

I think that the new site is pretty nice but... Could they not have found a better picture of Amy? Like the one BW put on this weeks blog? I find Amber looks a bit stunned at the top of the website! I wouldn't have been surprised to see a bit of drool seeping from the corner of her mouth, which would have been very un-Amy-like!

Yay, today is the first day of Spring down under, finally it might start to get a bit warmer, bring on Summer. Where I live it has been the coldest Winter in 13 years, I hate the cold!!!, don't think I could survive in Canada.
Anyway am about to watch last night’s repeat Heartland episode, season 2 ep17, next week will be the last of season 2 and it does not appear that the ABC is going to continue and repeat season 3 in the same timeslot. Hopefully they will repeat season 3 as a lead up to season 4 probably next year when we will have to wait to see it.
I will be waiting patiently after the 26th September and looking for season 4 to start appearing on U-Toob or possibly as a T so we can see the new episodes. Hopefully one of you other fans will help us non Canadians out so we don't have to wait, you are so lucky to be seeing new episodes.

I don't really like the new music section because I am unable to get itunes on my computer and am now unable to find out which songs are which at the ends of each episode. The music section was my favorite until it was changed and it makes me sad. :(
