This week, the summer weather has been most co-operative! This is a good thing because the scenes we have been shooting are pretty heavy and emotionally demanding on the actors. The last thing we need is to rearrange the schedule or delay our filming because of inclement weather. Click though for more...
What we have been capturing for Episodes 307 and 308 is some pretty amazing stuff and we know you're going to like it!
And... for those of you in countdown mode, with the imminent passing of July we now have a total of 66 days until the premiere of Season 3. On set, we are getting just as excited as you are!
In the meantime, CBC is replaying Season 2 every Sunday at 7:00pm leading up to our Season 3 launch, and this week is a particularly fine episode - "Divorce Horse" - written by Heather Conkie and directed by Dean Bennett.
In it Lou has her hands full when Mackenzie Hutton (Cara Pifko), one of the "corporate cowgirls" from Episode 205, decides to have her wedding at Heartland, which coincides with Lisa (Jessica Steen) delivering a "cursed" horse for Amy to treat. Multiple owners claiming the beautiful Andalusian named Diva Girl have caused the horse to return to Lisa. Will Diva Girl have an effect on Mackenzie's nuptials? And just wait for the fireworks when Lisa meddles into Lou's business and personal life - with disastrous results.
We hope you'll watch and enjoy it!

I'm sooo excited!!!! And all that stuff that the scenes are pretty heavy and emotionally demanding does not sound good... but what's a TV series without all the drama? jajaja Only 66 days guys and counting!!

Oh. My. Gosh.
It is now the 3rd of August. So that means that there is 62 more days until Season 3!
62. It sounds like a little time when you think of it as 2 months, but 62 more days of not living without the show Heartland! And plus, it may take longer if it does not air where I am and people on YouTube have to post it!
Ahh!!! I cant wait!!

I certainly hope all those 'emotionally draining' scenes are in the bag, because I can't help but notice that this week, the weather has been most un - cooperative. Silly rain.
But a big congrats must go out to the following:
Ron Murphy (Director), Lorenz Augustin (Production Manager), Hudson Cooley (Production Coordinator), Joe D'Addetta (Assistant Production Coordinator), Pierre Tremblay (1st Assistant Director), Brad Moerke (2nd Assistant Director), Christopher Cinnamon (3rd Assistant Director), Brian Dunne (Locations Manager), Jason Nolan (Assistant Locations Manager), Ken Filewych (Picture Editor), Warren Langford (1st Assistant Picture Editor), Todd Buttenham (1st Assistant Picture Editor), Kevin Howard (Sound Effects Editor), Rob Hegedus (Dialogue Editor), Richard Calistan (ADR Editor), P. Jason MacNeill (1st Assistant Sound Editor).
They are 2009 DGC Awards Nominees (Director's Guild of Canada) for the Heartland episode 'Dancing in the Dark'! (Episode 204) in the category of TEAM TELEVISION SERIES - FAMILY. They're up against some pretty stiff competition, so here's hoping they get the eventual win.
If this nom is any indication, perhaps Geminis aren't far behind, too?

I "discovered" Heartland only a month or two ago - it's on ABC2 (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) and I find myself completely drawn in! Just love the show, the scenery, the characters, and the horses! I guess we have a few of those here in Australia too.
In fact I am not even sure where we are in the series here (Jack has just walked with a battered Ty and Amy is off on a date with Caleb) but let's hope things will work out for those two. See, I am INVOLVED.
