Sunday, January 18 on an all-new Heartland; remember Mackenzie, one of the "corporate cowgirls," the trio of friends of Lou from New York who visited in episode 205? Well, Mackenzie - played by guest star Cara Pifko - has decided to have her wedding at Heartland. Read on for more...
There is something bad about the timing, as Lisa has just arrived with a "cursed" horse for Amy to treat - a beautiful Andalusian named Diva Girl who has been returned to Lisa by multiple owners, claiming the horse caused their divorce!
Lou already has her hands full, with the pressure of wanting to make sure Cara's wedding goes well, but when Lisa decides to help there is friction that no one could have seen coming.
Here are some photos from this Sunday's episode, entitled appropriately "Divorce Horse."

We hope you enjoy it. Please come back and send us your comments on what you thought of the show!

(Of course, you do mean Lou wants *Mackenzie's* wedding to run smoothly, as opposed to *Cara's* wedding...)
Ooh, I like the continuity here. Usually characters like Mackenzie and the other 'corporate cowgirls' would have been simple one-shots, never to be seen or heard from again. Great to see the MIA Lisa making a return, too! Wonder what on earth could cause the 'friction' mentioned. Guess I'll have to wait and see.
Until Sunday, hope y'all have a great weekend!

Woha! This looks SOOOOOOO good!
Can't wait until Sunday!!
I also think that the Canadian Cowgirls should appear on Heartland. I've seen them before and they're absolutly amazing!!! I think it'd be cool!
Great Job everybody!!!!!!!

Ohhh a cursed horse that breaks up relationships.
MAYBE Kit & Ty will break up because of it, & so will Amy & Caleb
Hmm...that would make an interesting plot

Fantastic!
I loved it, I was hoping that the curse would work on Ty and Kit along with Amy and Caleb so then Ty and Amy could get back together.
I was like so ready to smack the t.v. Kit and Caleb should just get together, everyone could see that Amy and Ty still like each other.
And the end with Ashley at Caleb's was fabulous! I hope that Amy wont forgive him for being an idiot again!

You should have like a heartland Chat thing on here.
it would be SO cool. and alot of people could get together and chat it up!!!!

this episode was good.... it wasn't the best but it was still good. I liked how they blamed the horse for everything bad that happened. You could totally tell that Amy was jealous of Kit being with Ty, and i felt really bad for her at the end when she pulled into where Caleb lived and Ashley's car was there.... but then i don't feel bad cause Amy deserves someone waaaaay better than Caleb. Good to see Lisa back in the show, we haven't seen her since episode 6... I'm pretty sure lol! sucks how there's no episode next week, cause i wanna see what happens with Amy and Ty's relationship and Lou's with that guy.

Wow, what a terrific episode! Yet another super script from Heather Conkie. Get this lady a Gemini nomination, already! She always does a super job on Heartland, anyway, and I've noticed she seems to be the one to land most of the Lisa Stillman episodes. (So thanks, Heather, for delving deeper into Jack's significant other's character this time around.)
It was very entertaining to have the allergy-prone, gluten-free, organic food-eating, de-caffeinated Mackenzie back again after meeting her in 'Corporate Cowgirls'. She's actually a very likable person once she has her various neuroses under control.
Now, while the 'conflict' in this episode was certainly hinted at in the previews, I never expected such a big blow-up. It's something that can have potentially long-lasting, negative effects. Lou, in her inimitable foot shoved way down her throat form, *really* mouthed off at Lisa big-time. She went beyond rude, and I was just as appalled as Jack. If I thought Mallory was the one who needed to learn self-editing, Lou has just taken the lead in that department.
Yes, if I were Lou, I would feel as if Lisa was poking her nose in where it didn't belong on several fronts, but I'm more in Lisa's corner on this one. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but with the way Lisa's relationship is going with Jack, perhaps Lisa is feeling almost maternal towards Lou and Amy. She's clearly taken an interest in their well-being, and Lou is clearly miserable. What mother wouldn't want to alleviate her child's misery?
I'm not sure what to make of Lou's stubbornness over this whole wedding debacle, though. Things eventually worked out in the end, didn't they? I never figured Lou to be the kind to hold a grudge. Holding the position that *Lisa* ought to apologize for what happened is pretty harsh, as she was only doing what she thought was best for Mackenzie, given her knowledge of 'high society' expectations. I'm holding out for a kiss-and-make-up reconciliation, because I don't want to have to deal with poor Jack having to choose between his granddaughter and his girlfriend. And poor Jack, indeed. I don't think he has a clue how to resolve this one. He looked particularly helpless this episode.
Ouch! Did anyone else absolutely cringe when Diva Girl bit Amy?? Hope she's had her tetanus booster! That bite looked nasty. I shudder just thinking about it. It was good to see that a part of this episode did deal with Amy attempting to 'heal' a horse, as a lot of fans have been complaining about the lack of focus on that aspect. Lisa was at it again with her 'inappropriate' and expensive gifts, hee-hee... but at least she was willing to recognize that Diva Girl is not suited for the prize-winning show horse circuit. She could have thrown a real hissy fit at Amy, but instead let the horse go to an appreciative Mackenzie.
It wouldn't be a complete Heartland episode if we didn't have some levity to lighten up the moodier parts, and we got that from Mallory's obsession with Diva Girl's 'curse'. What on earth was she doing to that poor horse?! And when Ian showed up in that suit of armour...outrageously funny! (Now, is it my imagination, or did Shaun flub his line and call Ian's character "Matt" at the parting scene at the end of the ceremony? I'll have to re-watch to confirm...)
Can't conclude my little 'review' without mentioning Amy's disappointment at seeing Ashley's BMW parked in front of Caleb's trailer. Caleb makes friends with girls entirely too easily... but I think the interest is one-sided. Amy has to know that Ashley's obviously the one initiating the contact; placing desperate phone calls to Caleb and visiting him when she needs to get away from Val... I won't make any statements about whether I feel Amy is better suited for Caleb or Ty; I just hope she learns how to trust again. She needs to give Caleb the benefit of the doubt.
So, super performances by guest stars Jessica Steen and Cara Pifko, and as I said earlier, super script. Six more episodes to go, *sigh*. Oh! I almost forgot: will we get to meet this mysterious 'Peter' sometime soon, or will Scott finally come to his senses and fight for Lou? Carpe diem, Scotty-boy, or you may lose Lou forever!
Til next week...

I love Heartland. It is my fav show, and I am catch it every sunday, and if I miss it, I watch it on the internet. Keep the supense coming, b/c I can never predict what will come next. This is a a good clean show, and so much better than any of those other dirty shows that they show now. Best thing of all? This show is totally Cdn. and that is one of the main reasons why I love it.
I still think Scott and Lou should get back together, but now that she is inquisitive about this "Peter" I don't know if that will happen. Scott and Lou are so good together!!! Amy and Ty *sigh* Will they ever be together? I thought Caleb was the one for her, but he obviously falls for girls way too easily. What happened to "When I want a girl, I fight for them"? Tye and Amy so like each other, but they are too embarassed to say so.
I was also really shocked when Lou wouldn't apologize to Lisa. I understand why, but I've never seen her this upset before. It really shocked me. Wonder if we'll see Amy and Lou's father next week?

very funny episode, really great acting by all of the cast, my favorite character is Caleb (so hot, confident and humorous)and I really hope he doesn't get too hurt when Amy returns to Ty (inevitable).

This extremly stupid episode consisted of a few things... Ty and Amy flirting as usual... Hysterical idiots... and a white mare that couldn't be sold. I find it very annoying when it's so obvious this is a TV show, the horse biting people, is so fake. And whatever "brilliant" person decided to add blood to Amy's "bite" knows nothing about horses. Horse bites bruise really really bad, but they do NOT bleed. It didn't look painful, I was actually laughing it looked so fake. Awwwe, and then leaning onto Ty's shoulder for support, alot of it. God Lou, what did your mother teach you when she was alive? I can't believe how rude she acted to Lisa, the bag. "She needs to apologize to me". What the...? And what's with Kit driving Ty around now? What, did his old truck from th 50's finally conk out? I really thought it was funny watching Ty and Amy cast glances at each other during the reception. Oooh. I was hoping someone would break a heal and fall in the water, no luck. When Ty was just standing there watching Mackenzie and Lou just flipping out after she took out her wedding dress... Run dude! Overall, a typical Heartland episode. I`m glad the Ty and Amy drama is over, oh wait, it isn`t!

The song playing at the end of the episode is called Love, Where is Your Fire and it's by Brooke Fraser. Hope this helps :)

I loved the end where Amy saw Ashley's car at Caleb's. I agree with everyone, Ty and Amyy should soooooooo get together. They make such a good couple.
P.S. Why aren't they showing the preview for next week's episode?

I think this was a good episode overall. The part with Amy getting bit by the horse was a great touch. Sometimes everyone looks at Amy and just sees her as this "miracle worker" and that she can do anything with horses. What we don't always see is the hard work that goes behind her miracle working and the fact that she does fail sometimes just like everyone else.
I thought the dynamic between Lou and Lisa was interesting. Sure Lisa was just trying to help but she totally went over the line when she gave out Lou's personal information without asking her. Lou's freak out later was a little much but truthfully I don't blame her, and I don't agree with Jack getting so mad at her for going over the edge after everything Lisa had done. Hmm but with the fight between the two Jack really finds himself in a pickle, but with Lisa not being on the show for long I wonder just how serious their relationship is?
Ok now time to talk about the relationships. While I will admit that I have been cheering for Ty and Amy to get together, I saw that Ty was being a bit of a jerk leading Amy on (though Amy wasn't innocent either), and though I didn't like him at first Caleb was starting to grow on me. The problem that I had with Caleb before and was raised again in this episode is that he seems like he is just in it with Amy for the chase. He can be sweet one minute but as soon as Amy starts paying him attention he's off again. Like when Amy asks him to go to the wedding he's all I'll get back to you, which totally goes against how he was in the last episode seeming like he adored Amy. Then when Caleb sees Amy and Ty together he then wants to go with her to the wedding plus he wants to take her out because he likes the competition with Ty and he likes feeling like he's won something that seems untouchable. Now that he's won Amy I don't know if Caleb's interest in her will stay much longer. And I know that what's happening between him and Ashley could very well be innocent but looking at his track record this seems highly unlikely...
I think the way that Amy and Ty looked at each other in the end of the episode during the wedding says it all, wonder how long it will take them to get together...

Welcome to my latest feature: 'The Cliched Phone Interruption Count on Heartland'! (Or simply 'Telephone Cliches', if you prefer).
Yes, I'm being ridiculous. It's one of my flaws. But I'm going to start a running tally of the number of times a phone call interrupts a line of dialogue, or some important discussion between characters, or some nerve-wracking event - in each episode of Heartland. Why? Because it happens A LOT! Lazy excuse, I say (in my opinionated opinion), for getting characters out of talking about or dealing with the issue at hand.
Cliched phone interruption count for "Divorce Horse" - a low score of 2. This is actually a pretty decent score. Anything 2 or lower is not bad. 1 is good; 0 is ideal. 3 or higher; you're mucking out stalls for 2 weeks! And TC will ignore you if you try to call. I have Caller I.D., so don't think I won't screen my calls! You've been warned.
Okay.
Breaking down the phone calls:
#1 - OK, this one wasn't too bad. Under the circumstances, this phone call is actually not-so-cliched an interruption, because it launches Mallory into her weekly worry-fest. (Wait, maybe it is a cliched interruption if such phone calls continue launching Mallory into her weekly worry-fest in future episodes...It might become a trend...We'll put that thought on the back burner...) This phone call came when Mallory was discussing her mom with Jack, along with the subject of Diva Girl the Divorce Horse's "curse". Phone rang, interrupting Jack's attempt to debunk Mallory's belief in curses. Mallory learns that only her mother will be coming home, prompting her to fret that the curse is somehow working 'long-distance', and that her folks are Splits-ville. Oh, Mallory...what are we gonna do with you... We should ban you from watching Dr. Phil and reading self-help and how-to books. You'd be getting nothing but a diet of frozen pizzas for a month, too, if I had anything to say about it!
#2 came at Maggie's when Ashley phoned Caleb. In spite of the teasing going on, there was also some tension there between Ty, Kit, Caleb and Amy. (Did you see how they were all looking at each other? Definitely some undercurrents of... something-or-other...) Then Caleb sees Ashley's called, and he takes off to deal with her latest crisis. (Maybe she couldn't figure out which golf club to use to smash Val's car for her next temper tantrum and needed a man's opinion). Potential for emotions to run high and jealousies to rear their ugly heads in the middle of Maggie's place averted. Who knows what might have happened if Caleb had stuck around? We might have had a brawl! And poor Soraya would have been left to clean up the mess. Alone. Again!!
This has been a Totally Crazy, Truly Corny, Telephone Cliches on Heartland discussion. The above comments are intended for entertainment purposes, only.
And I'll continue to spell 'cliche', 'cliches' and 'cliched' just so, until I figure out how to put in that little accent aigu over the 'e'. (I'm thinking I'll have that learnéd by next week.)
Until next episode, keep those phones on silent mode!

Does anyone think that, given Calebs behaviour especially about the wedding, that he might have been seriously involved with some girl and she broke his heart and now all he is up for is chasing girls? I don't think he is all that interested in any girl except when they are cool towards him.
I would not wish him on Kit (she has known him for a long time and so would probably not date him and anyway, she and Ty seem fine.
I think Ty has a sense of Caleb's character and does not want Amy hurt .
Maybe Amy needs to date someone we have not met yet and with no baggage like we have with the charachters we know?
Wonder what Ashley thought of the disaster zone in Calebs trailer? Bet she didn't offer to wawawash the dishes!!
Heres to the next episode..hope Lou and lisa sort themselves out

TV FAN - every week you come on this blog, whining about how bad each episode is, from the acting to the storyline to the effects, yet you can't seem not to watch. If I hated each episode as much as you appear to I would not watch Heartland.
This blog is for fans of the this great show. There is an old saying - "If you can't say something nice don't say anything." I would suggest you follow the sidom and refrain from your misreable comments in the future.
Or better yet - try becoming hooked on to a show that you ENJOY watching, instead of avidly following one that only makes you miserable.

Whenever there's no preview after a Heartland episode, it'll either be a repeat next week or none. Which does suck though...

there was no preview because heartland isnt on for 2 weeks because of some football game on another ch or something. but i wish they would realize; we tune in for heartland - us horse lovers dont care about football or nhl or anything!
Posted by: natalie on January 20, 2009 at 11:30 AM
Well, TC (there we go again! ;-D) has stolen most of my main rant points, but here goes...
There were moments in this episode where I cringed (good gravy??? Where'd Jack get that one?? Then again, he does have a cute knack for expressions nobody knows...), but despite that I must say that I thought it was EXCELLENT. Well, duh, I guess; afterall, this is HEARTLAND. Anyway, Twe's top ten for this episode were.... *dadadadumdadum*
At #10 we have Mallory decursifying the horse. The whole idea of Mallory becoming obsessed with the curse was so... Malloryish. That little actress knows her character but good, and shows it. Way ta go, Jessica!
Ranking #9 was the scene at Maggy's. It was almost like an old western showdown; Amy vs. Kit, Ty vs. Caleb. Sure, on the surface they're all joking around, but if you look closer you can see some serious tension going on. When Caleb said he liked Ashley and left Amy to take her call, some of it came to surface. What I liked most about the scene was that it looked just so normal. I mean, that could have been me and my buddies. And that makes the show all the more enjoyable.
#8: The Bite. OUCH! Better yet--how Amy leaned on Ty's shoulder. Oh ho ho--did you bribe the horse to bite you, Amy? ;)
#7: Ty and Caleb discussing Kit. Just get a load of the look on Amy's face!!
#6:... Lisa and Amy discussing Diva, after Amy let her out with the other horses. For a moment, we don't know if Lisa's going to blow up or what, but she takes it in character.
Resting at #5: The whole wedding. Not the cute "we're getting married" stuff, but the GLANCES. Ty looks at Amy--Kit notices, and Ty and Amy quickly look away. Perfect wordless hints at what's going on between the four of them. On a side note, I must say how the relationships, despite the glances, seem to be warming up. This episode seemed very lighthearted (most of the time) and it was refreshing.
At #4... Lou replying to Peter's e-mail. The whole way through I was hoping she would! I can't wait to say what this "Peter" is like.
#3: Well, duh, the Knight in Shining Armor! That was beautifully done. Everyone watching was roaring with laughter, especially when his visor kept falling down.... DUDE! that was priceless.
#2: Caleb crying at the wedding! It gave me the same feeling as seeing Puss and Boots' enourmously huge eyes from SHREK. Caleb has definitely grown on me, for all his flirtations.
And at #1: after the Lou vs. Lisa blow-up, Jack's line. "I don't know if I've ever been more disapointed with you..." that just drove to the heart. I would NOT have wanted to be Lou at that moment. Jack doesn't say much, but when he does, it means a heck of a lot. Points for him standing up for his girlfriend!
Anyway, that's all for me!
Posted by: Twe on January 20, 2009 at 11:36 AM
Yo, Gail-- nicely put, nicely put!! Sorry TV Fan-- I gotta agree with her here. Though I would honestly miss your party-pooper comments. I mean, you're one of the few regulars, and even if you're Heartlands #1 critic, no one could say you're not faithful. You... might want to get a day job, though. Oh, wait, let me guess, you already got one; movie critic, right? ;)

I really like Heartland and look forward to the show...even re-runs are good....But the thing with Amy and her men is starting to make me channel surf. Hey writers, let's introduce another guy IN SEASON THREE!!! :-) -- a guy who breaks down near the farm and needs a job and becomes Lou's cabin cleaner at the Guest Ranch...then Amy and him can get caught out in a rain/snow storm, have to spend the night together keeping warm, and have a healthy relationship after with movies, barbeques, rodeos and stuff. Are the writers on this show all divorced? or single? because nobody is having a good relationship but cute Mallory and her nice cowboy and handsome Jack and his rancher/horse breeder hottie.
Heartland films in my back yard and I look forward to SEASON THREE!! Welcome back. I can hardly wait for the 7 a.m. roll call.

WHEN IS TY AND AMY GETTING TOGETHER THEY SO CLEARLY LOVE EACH OTHER.
And TV FAN get a life you have nothing better to do then criticize o show if you don't like it and find it cheesy please watch something else and stay of this website it is for fans not people to bitch. The show is amazing and the actors put a lot of hard work into what they do. I would like to see you work half as hard as one of them you probably think you know what you are talking about who cares if horse bites don't bleed honestly dragons and warlocks don't exist either but look at lord of the rings and hero's so take your criticism else where stop wasting your time and everyone else's.

This episode was pretty good. But come on, find Amy a boyfriend already! She was supposed to be with Ty, but noooo!!!!! Now he is with Kit.!!! Then you think she's going to end up with Caleb. But noooo!!!! He likes Ashley!!! And Same with Lou! She's supposed to be with Scott but noooo!!! He's being a jerk!!!! Then you think that she'll end up with Constable Rodriguez!!! But noooo!!! She catches him with someone else!!!!! Please put her with this Peter guy, whoever he is!!!!!

I didn't want to weigh in on this because it has nothing to do with Heartland, and I try to keep my digressions to a minimum (heh)...
But please let's not turn these comment areas into war zones. If a particular commenter makes negative comments, ignore them. Do not add fuel to the fire. As is the popular phrase on other message boards, "Don't feed the trolls".
Not mentioning any names, the troll we presently have here obviously enjoys the attention, and will only continue to come unless the rest of us cease giving them the attention they do not deserve.
This is my personal opinion, but I do hope others will take the appropriate action. I do so love a peaceful, fun, engaging comments page. If that's what you all want, too, let's make it so.
And now let's get back to talking about the show we love, instead of complaining about the troll!

Exactly TC! This is a comment page. Comment. Not replying to each others posts. I can post whatever I think of the show on here, and that is what a blog is for. Which is exactly what I'm doing, and that I will continue to do. I never said the show Heartland makes me miserable, incase you haven't noticed, it's a TV show. Not a great one, but its still written and filmed.
Thanks Twe. No, but it is a habit to critizise movies and TV shows. And I am going to watch Heartland returning on Febuary 8th.

I believe that Lou was well within her rights to tell Lisa how she felt. I love Lisa's chacter but she steped over a line by giving out Lou's email. I believe they both owe each other apologies for what happened. And my feeling on Lou's blow up is that she sees Lisa as trying to take her mother's place in her life. Obviously Lou still has some grieving to do over her mother in that regard. I think it could be a good thing if done right. I really hope this rift doesn't last long between her and Jack. Lou and Jack are my favorites. I also think that all of this could bring about a good, strong relationship between Lou and Lisa in the end. At least I hope it will.
As for Amy/Ty/Caleb... could we please get back to the heart of this show and make it a family drama again and not a daytime drama. Focus on the family and the horse stories, because the love stories are not working for you at the moment.
Thanks for such a great show. I'm glad we get this channel on our US cable network here!

I thought this episode was slightly lame; i work with horses and a lot of the stuff is unrealistic. Over all, i think its a good show. This episode definitely wasn't my favorite though. They should take more episode ideas from the books.

Twe: You have to be old to know the expression- ``Good Gravy``. It comes from a kinder, gentler time, but it is so Jack. I enjoy your comments -you do have a way with words. You might want to add `` Good Gravy`` to your repetoire even if it is from the olden days.

@Paige;
I don't have the e-mail adress on me, but APPARTENTLY you can get it if you go to facebook, HEARTLAND, and then the Official Graham Wardle Fan Club...hold on... okay, it's graham.wardle@hotmail.com. Apparently. Might be fake, of course. I haven't gotten the courage up to try it yet. Let me know if it works!! ;)

ty and amy are meant for one another and both are being such masochists. but i do believe their paths are meant to collide and be one some day. their friendship is deep and more than just that. you can tell in each episode the struggle they both put themselves through.
