"Maybe we should talk..." Wow! Four words spoken by Amy to Ty that certainly had a lot of fans going "Alright!", only to realize that it was the last line of last Sunday's season premiere.

[Click through for more info on this Sunday's brand new episode of Heartland.]
So then, the good news is that this Sunday's brand new episode of Heartland, "Crossed Signals" (Written by Heather Conkie and directed by Stefan Scaini, like the premiere), picks up right where last Sunday's episode ended, with Ty and Amy in the loft right after Ty realizes that Amy knows about THE RING!
Ty struggles to deal with the fact that Amy has found the engagement ring and has to decide how... or if... he is going to propose to her. The episode then turns into a comedy of errors as Lou and Jack are both aware of Ty's intentions but Amy doesn't have a clue that they are. And Tim is... well, clueless about the whole matter, which you can imagine is not going to go over well with him.
Meanwhile, the mystery of who Phoenix really is, and where he has run from is revealed. When Phoenix's real owner (guest star Lisa Ryder) shows up at Heartland to reclaim him, Georgie pursues him back to his home stables and discovers why the horse ran away in the first place. Meanwhile, Lou blames Amy's dog Lobo for giving Katie fleas... until she realizes that the dog isn't the problem.
It's a fun exercise in secret keeping, helping friends, horses, squabbling sisters, bad smelling shampoo and emergency diapers. You know -- a brand new episode of Heartland. "Crossed Signals" is the second of 18 new episodes that will be broadcast between now and the first week in April.
Catch it only on CBC Television at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland) and make sure you eloquently -- both in comments below and on the Heartland on CBC Facebook Page -- tell us all what you thought of it.
So, in addition to this awesome new season of Heartland, we've also introduced some changes and additions to the Heartland Ranch game. Like last year, we'll be releasing fresh content each week that corresponds with the most recent episode and we JUST kicked off the weekly schedule with an all new quest!
Also, there's a new interface for the quest log that displays regular ranch tasks, and highlights episodic quests for seasons 5 and 6. Be sure to dive in and check out the new stuff! it's right here: http://apps.facebook.com/heartlandranch
I have to say... the countdown was fun, friends and fans, but I really do enjoy and would much rather be setting up these new episodes for everyone!
So enjoy the end of summer (Fall starts on Saturday) and enjoy Heartland this Sunday. I know I will!

BW, this sounds exciting, but kind of worrisome as far as Ty and Amy are concerned. I do have some questions for you. You said above that Tim was clueless about the whole matter with Ty and Amy. It makes it sound like he has no clue about the ring or Ty wanting to propose. Didn't you make a comment after last season's finale, after so many people questioned, that we could assume that Ty has already asked Tim for permission to ask Amy (it was just off screen)? Now I'm wondering if you meant that or what you meant from above. Does your above statement mean that Ty never actually asked Tim? I have told people on the blog that you had already addressed that back in March and told us that we are supposed to assume that he already asked Tim. Now I feel kinda stupid. HELP!
[Blog Whisperer: Hey Susan! That was pure speculation on my part - the answer to that certainly hadn't been written yet, but I should have known better than to guess! ]

Jack is still loveable and Lou is still Lou.
Keep up the great work.

This season looks like it will be the best ever. I will miss Mallory if she doesn't make any appearances but I really enjoy the character of Georgie, Alysa is a good liitle actress and she seems to be a good fit on the show. Michelle Morgan's comic timing keeps getting better and better as well as the scenes with Jack and Tim. Sounds like this episode will be the same. HL has great writers to be able to come up with a good explanation of how Ty will continue not proposing knowing that Amy has seen the ring.

Emily, Amy's portrayer is engaged IRL, so that is why you see her wearing a ring (more than likely).
I wish I had more spoilers to know whether or not I would like the next episode or not (I don't like surprises). I hope it's not going to be a lot of interrupted conversations in order for Ty and Amy to get things sorted out. That would definitely keep me from watching. PVR it and fast forward.

Amy has a promise ring so we would not really know if it was an engagement ring or a promise ring.

Glad it's picking off where the last episode ended. Not sure how Ty's going to react. I'm thinking he won't propose in this episode. Kinda disappointed the surprise of it is ruined though. I'm guessing Ty never asked Tim yet. That won't go over well. Katie is getting so big. Georgie is a great addition to the show. Can't wait to see how things work out.
Chuck wrote:

From the synopsis of episode 2 posted today I think I am going to hate it.
First I don't think Amy and Ty's engagement should be treated as a farce. They have been building to this for 5 years. Surely it should and could have been a romatic moment. No other engagement on the show has been treated like this, Lou and Peter, Caleb and Ashley, Tim and Janice, or Jack and Lisa. It would seem to me this engageemnt is the most important one to the fans and could have been done with a lot more class.
It is not great writing to be able to come up with a good explanation of how Ty will continue to not propose to Amy. It is poor writing to drag a situation out past the point it makes any sense. Can't the writers give the proposal closure and move on to something else.
I also think it is poor writing because the writers are not respecting the characters they created. To treat Ty and Amy's love for each other and their potential engagement as a joke is not what I would expect in this show. Over all I really like Heartland and I think the writers have done a great job. I am more hooked on Heartland than any show I have ever watched but I think the engagement has been handled very badly. I would like to be proven wrong as the show goes forward but if it contnues as it is I may not be around to see it

BW this is my first time writing and I'm really excited about the new episode. You really are great at these blog posts. I look forward to them every Thursday.
I do have a few questions though... You said in another blog post that we could assume that Ty had already asked Tim's permission to marry Amy. Now I'm confused on whether or not Ty has asked Tim or not... Hope you can clear this up for me.
Also Emily, Amy still has the promise ring remember? So the ring on her finger could be the engagement ring or the promise ring still. I hope it's the engagement, but it could be either one...
Can't wait for the new episode! Thanks again BW!

Sheila - That is awesome that you wrote about a Commodore 64. Why? Because I had those computers at my elementary school and it brings back memories of it. Like the cassette tape used and etc... Thank you for sharing that.

I don't think ty and amy will get married maybe in maybe some of the upcoming episodes (this is my predicition). In a British tv comedy show we watch, As Time Goes By. Jean is bored and wants a surprise. Lionel (her husband) is planning a suprise, yet Jean knows it and says she doesn't want a surprise (yet she does). I think this is what's going to happen in Heartland. It's going to be too preditable for both amy and ty. Amy is going to expect it, Ty now knows that Amy knows about the ring. So, the relationship is going feel strained. Ty is going to wonder when he is able going to propose, while amy knowing about it.

It has definitely got to be a very intense episode with Ty wondering if he should even propose now, Katie getting fleas, Tim not knowing about the "to be engagement", and that Georgie we find out helps out with the horses too. I am definitely excited to see why the horse ran away. I wanted to see Amy fix him in the last episode and see why the horse did that, but now I guess Ill know this Sunday. I can't wait. What happened to Jack going to Paris though? And where is Lisa? That is the one thing that still puzzles me.

Amber would not wear her engagement ring on Heartland, however as Amy she is promised to Ty, which if I remember correctly happened in Season 3 Episode 3 therefore there is a good chance that is the ring she is wearing in the photo above.
The season premiere was awesome!! This show has the best writers always leaving the fans hanging with the last line of the show.

I thought I recognized that gal in the preview. I remember Lisa Ryder from the TV show Andromeda several years back. And in that pic of Jack and Georgie....it appears Georgie may have had a situation by looking at her clothes and face.:)) And I think we can all go way out on a limb and guess that Amy and Georgie will get Phoenix back and he will become Georgie's horse.
As for what happens with Amy and Ty....I think that one's gonna be a bit harder to guess. No matter what, i just hopes Ty acts a bit more like a man in this episode than he showed last week. If Ty can't step up to the plate better than that...Amy may need to think twice about if he's the right one for her. He took 2 steps forward last season...he took 3 steps back last week.:)) Get on the ball Ty before it's too late.;)

It would be a huge disappointment if Heartland goes off track and makes Amy's and Ty's impending engagement like one would expect to see in a soap opera! This show has represented great morals and is a "feel good" show that most people need in their lives. We are constantly watching shows that are about death and love not working out, and that is what I mean about it being soap opera-ish where people you want to get together never do. Please tell me that Heartland isn't going to go off track and disappoint the millions of fans it has that are mostly watching due to Amy and Ty being so great together!

Anyway, I have 2 thoughts about the Ty/Amy engagement. One: I wish the writers wouldn't drag it out, and Two: it's kind of a spoiler that Amy found the ring, and won't have the romantic element of surprise when she is finally asked....soon, or I suspect at the end of season 6? Okay I gotta admit. When I watched this Episode the first time, and it closed, I was on the ground howling in frustration. I know this may sound over the top, and it is, but I was just extremely angry that after six months of anxious waiting, this is what we get. But I've watched the Episode a couple more times and have grown to respect it. The first time it is viewed is me just waiting for a major breakthrough before that clock hits the next hour. The next couple of times I watched that ending scene, I find myself growing towards it every time.
Lou: I was a little agrivated with her this Episode to be honest! I'm glad Peter was there to keep her in line. She should have known better that Ty was going through an EXTREMELY stressfull time and going along saying that he'd totally screwed up the whole thing was wrong. She also came in blaming Amy vigourously that Lobo was giving Katie "fleas" when she was dealing with what will be the biggest step in her life. Amy was also taking on helping Pheonix and Kendra, while taking care of Georgie in the mean time. But, hey! That's Lou and we all know she's a control freak and gets really scatterbrained when something's out of line.
Jack: I don't have much to say about him this time. I was hoping he would be supporting Ty more and showing him that things would blow over and work themselves out. It seems that in the next Episode Lisa comes back, and he looks more than happy she's back. Actually, it appears that their in a better position than Ty and Amy were in this episode. I recorded the ending so I could go back and pause the preview, and when Jack was spinning Lisa around, I paused it so I could see her hand and couldn't help cut notice she had a ring on it. Whether that's still there from her past marriage with Dan or if its new from Jack, I don't know. Or if it's just an ordinary ring for looks who knows! I recall a Production Tweet from a while back stating that they were filming a discovery that someone is already married. Though I'm pretty sure that was more recent and not towards the beginning of the Season, it IS a possiblity they got married while in Paris, but this is a possiblilty, not a fact, and there's still many question marks surrounding the subject.
Tim: At first when he told Ty he didn't have permission I nearly shouted out that he was an A-hole. But as the Episode progressed and he talk to Ty the second time (this was the most wise I've ever heard him speak) I felt very warm hearted towards him, and couldn't help but feel happy that he played a big part today. I thought it was hilarious when he had to take care of Katie and even more hilarious with Lou coming back to find him sitting on the couch with Katie in his lap, Georgie beside him, eating chips and watching a football game! A STAMPEDERS football game and saying his line: "I think we should turn her into a Stamps fan." I thought that was awesome that the writers put that in there bringing in real Canadian sports and teams. I know this is probably the first time I have EVER said this but....Yep, was definetely happy with Tim tonight.
Georgie: Alisha played Georgie even BETTER than in 601. She did an incredible job and I'm REALLY getting to like having her around. She brings a fresh feel to the storyline and different generation that Mallory grew out of that I have missed. I know everyone's missing Mallory and I do too. A lot. At first I was scared the writers were bringing her in to replace Mallory's presence on the ranch. So far, that doesn't appear to be happening at all. She's different than Mallory. She's got an attitude, and spark, and that's what makes her so lovable. In the preview for 603 she's riding Copper and looking at something. I have a feeling that something is Mallory, which would only make sense as if Mallory came back to find some girl she's never even seen or heard of riding her horse would cause some friction. On the subject of Mallory returning makes it possible she's back on Sunday. They said a Family Reunion was in store for this week, and I didn't think of Mallory at first and was confused at why it would be a reunion if no one was missing besides Lisa. But she's coming and going all the time. So. Is Jessica gonna make an appearance this week? It's definetely likely!
Amy: At times I was extremely frustrated with our Miracle girl, and other times I was very happy with her. Hehe, I had "Crossed Signals" and feelings about her this week. The first thing I wanted to mention in a particular scene was the one with her and Ty in the loft, and she left saying: "You just don't get it Ty." The thought that crossed through my mind was, "Does she have ANY IDEA how much she hurt him there?" She pretty much told him he was a fool and acting like a child, taking all of that as a joke. Like she was pretty much laughing at him, and I just wanted to scream at her for that. Ty has had the toughest time I think he's EVER had on the series, getting blamed on by Lou, shot down by Tim the first time, and now Amy laughing (I'm gonna call it laughing cause I don't know what else to call it) at him. That only was forgiven when she apologized and said she shouldn't have acted like that. When they were walking at the end and apologizing I was like "Yes, yes, yes YES! This is it!" Ty asks her: "If I had asked you that night, what would you have said?" She replies: "I don't know." And was running through thoughts of: "Okay maybe then she wasn't sure, but now? She's had FOUR MONTHS to think about it and she STILL isn't sure?" She seemed so sure and willfull in 601 and during 602 it felt like that had taken a total U turn. When she said: "If we wait, we'll still feel the same." I was like: "No, no, NO!" At first I was extremely frustrated. But NOW... I'm okay with it. They both have each others side of the story and are on the same page with what's going on. So I'm content. AS LONG as the writers don't drag it on past the middle of the Season, I'm good!
And finally!
Ty: I have to tell you, I'm surprised he didn't just give up. I mean I might have if I was in his position. This just shows how strong Ty Borden really is. Not just physically, but mentally. I know a lot of people are calling Ty a whimp and saying he has to step up and be a man. I could disagree more with them. Actually... They're WRONG. He's had SO MANY reasons to just let it go and forget about it. Nothing has been going right for our guy in the loft. Nothing. There's way too many faults to count. It's just killing him. He wants to get that ring on Amy's finger SO BAD, it hurts. At the end when Amy suggests they wait, knowing they will still feel the same, he seriously looks like he's about to burst into tears. He REALLY doesn't want to wait, but he DOESN'T want it to not happen at all. As we've seen in the past, this episode shows how much hurt and himiliation Ty will go through for Amy. He's been utterly humiliated in front of her entire family, pretty much called a whimp by Tim, yelled at by Lou, but he still hangs on, and makes things right. Both he and Amy are in the preview for the next one, and even though it was a clip of the entire family rushing around the kitchen, everything seems content with them, and that's what makes me happy. THAT'S what I missed the first time where I was blind through my anger to not notice that everything is okay between them now, and that's what's important.

I know it's illegal to upload anything on youtube, but when people do upload the Heartland show on youtube I do watch it because I can't get it anywhere else.
Would CBC ever consider having some sort of outlit for US fans to enjoy the new episodes of Heartland? Me and my friend LOVE this show SO much! But we can hardly ever access it because youtube takes it down (which they are within their rights to) but it just really sucks that the US fans can't enjoy the show too. :(

Very disappointed with the show so far this season. The magic of the Amy/Ty relationship has been totally absent this season. They don't look like they should even be a couple...much less engaged to be married. They've both regressed from the growth they showed last season, and all I'm feeling each time they come one screen is frustration and aggravation with their actions. Not a good thing for what are my 2 favorite characters on the show. Love Georgie and what she brings to the show; but my enjoyment level is totally diminished from what I felt last season given I just feel like the magic is gone from the amazing Amy/Ty story that was built for 5 years.

I thought the 1st episode was okay, but the show will NEVER be the same for me if Mallory doesn't come back to Heartland, I mean she was the one that pushed for Amy and Ty to be togeather and now that she's gone, it just seems cruke she's not the to see the next big step in their relationship! I also think Heartland has lost some of it's comedy now that Mallory is gone, she'd better come back, or I will just have to kill myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The horse aspect of the show was wonderful. The relationship part, not so much. When I first stared watching the series, I was watching due to the horse wisperer angle. However, over the last couple of years I have also become a Ty and Amy fan. The writers have changed many aspects of the books...which many have been good changes! I hope that they continue to keep fans in mind and find a way to bring the realtionship to an engagement.

Wow...I cannot believe the build up to a disappointment. Engaged does not mean immediate marriage. It seems like Ty is confident in his feelings for her...Amy seems to be a little more unsure. Ty had to have an accident to reaffirm and guide his feelings. Hopefully Amy will not need the same push.

Last night's episode was really good, but also kinda disappointing. Ty was so upset after he found out that Amy knew about the ring. I think that Amy didn't quite know whether or not she was going to say yes and that is why she just told Ty to wait alittle bit longer. Ty looked so upset when she that because he had been waiting and wanting to ask her right after his motorcycle accident. I thought that Tim was pretty funny last night. He didn't get asked first again! I was glad that he finally approved of Ty asking Amy to marry his daughter, but I hated when he told Ty that when you marry someone when your young, you can grow apart from each other. I think that also kind of changed Ty's mind because he didn't want to grow apart from Amy. I can't wait till next weeks episode hopefully they will talk about it again!

I love this series and am extremely loyal but...I really miss Mallory. There is a definite hole in Heartland where she used to be. Characters worm their way into our hearts, and even though producers may think they are there only to fill an age bridge, to the viewers they are a valuable part of the tapestry no matter what age bracket they fall into. We watched her grow up on the show, and she has more growing up to do and we want to be there to see it happen. She had a whole storyline with Jake that needs to be told!
I loved seeing Lisa Ryder, her character in the old sci fi series Andromeda was fabulous and it was nice to see her again.
Georgie is a real firecracker, and her relationship with Phoenix is awesome to see developing. However, in relation to age bridge characters, she is too young to fill Mallory's place, and there isn't a teenage presence on the show now to add drama. 10 year old drama just isnt the same!
I am rather confused about something as well, at the end of the last season we saw Jack all packed and ready to go to Paris. Nothing has been mentioned about it (it is a huge deal for that man to do anything of the kind), and we have not seen Lisa make an appearance yet. Was that travel part of the story just forgotten about? Did he actually go or what is with that?

Wow, didn't see that coming. Felt bad for Ty. He wants to marry Amy so bad. In my opinion Amy's answer would have been no. She didn't like Ty's attempt at proposing because to me she didn't have an answer. She's not as ready as Ty is. Thought the moment had finally arrived only for Ty to be shot down. It was just as bad as her saying no. Think he was still upset at the way they left it. He didn’t want to wait any longer. I think that’s why he just went for it. “Let’s just do it, get married.” They don’t feel as close anymore. Amy said she loved Ty but the way she said it wasn’t confining. Seems like Ty’s the only one in their relationship anymore. Like one sided. Was upset that Ty said everything was ruined. He was heartbroken. At least there may still be a surprise proposal later.
Loved Tim with Katie. It was cute. Brought some humour to the sad stuff.

Loved Tim's "creative" attempt at diapering.... :) Very funny. I laughed so hard, I got the hickups.
As for the desperatley anticipated engagement of Ty & Amy: WHAT IS THE RUSH ?????????? I am happy to see that they are being mature & responsible enough NOT to rush into this. They obviously love each other very much (as they both told each other on Sunday's episode). And they are happy with it for now. BE PATIENT - they will get engaged eventually: when the time is right !

Hmmmm.....makes you wonder. What do these writers know that we don't. To be accused of jumping the shark, they better have something in mind and it better be FANtastic. If this was just a ratings based play, it will likely backfire!
First off no Woman in her right mind waits and worries about an impending engagement if they don't want to be engaged. If they found a ring and did not want engaged it would be a relief and not "why did he change his mind."
Secondly, where are Scott and Caleb? Now with Sorya and Ashley gone....who will Amy confide in (other than Lou who has her own thing going on)?
Many fans love the series and I hope it gets back on track....with 18 episodes left there is hope. We will just wait and see....

Dear writers,
I hope you read this because it will save your fans. We have spent 5 SEASONS watching Amy and Ty's relationship blossom, wither, blossom, ect.. Amy has had long enough to think about Ty's proposal. In my experience, this is the beginning of the relationship dissolving. There is no going back for Ty emotionally from this point. If a relationship isn't moving forward it's going backward. There is no standstill. We have lost many of our favorite characters, Mallory, Val, Ashley, possibly Caleb and Scott. You have introduced Georgie in the worst way by having her RUIN moments fans have waited a LONG time for. Not a good way to win us over to her. The writing for Tim/Katie/Lou/Peter was BRILLIANT! Excellent comedic timing. PLEASE either end the whole Amy/Ty thing or get them together, but please don't drag this out. When writers do that, people wait till it goes to DVD or later to watch it.

I was personally disappointed in this episode. They get us so pumped up for a proposal, then she finds the ring. I thought, "hey, maybe they can salvage this." But, alas, not really. At least everyone knows everything now, and everything's in the open. I was just hoping this wasn't going to drag out to the season finale, which we all know it will *rolls eyes*

Okay, I will admit that I was disappointed in this episode. Ty is once again letting Amy make the relationship decisions. And I thought Amy walking out when Ty was trying to pull a proposal together was very selfish.
And Tim! Saying the reason his marriage didn't work was because he had been too young, when that wasn't the reason at all...
Not too encouraging for Ty.
I'm hoping the writers will give Ty more say in the future episodes.
Loved Jack, as always, and the new girl Georgie. Lou is as beautiful as ever! and Katie is adorable. How did they get her to cry like that when Jack walked out of the kitchen? Aw...

I love this show, it's so good! I just want to say to the people who are disappointed so far that I understand why: Mallory's gone and she was so great and fun and Ty and Amy's relationship doesn't seem to go so well and we all want them to get engaged soon... I get it. But we have to remember that we have great writers on this show and that they won't let Ty and Amy's relationship die, they know how angry the fans would be, they won't do this to us.
Plus, we have to remember all the episodes in the past seasons that made us disappointed, like when Ty left in season 1, how they broke up in season 4, etc... but they always got back together, so we need to trust the writers because they've done such a good job so far. Plus, we all know that Ty and Amy will be together in the end, so we just need to be patient, the wait is what makes this show so addicting!
As for Mallory, I miss her too, but people come and go in life, and since the show is so close to reality, they need to incorporate the aspect of chance to make it real. And if there wasn't all that change and uncertainty with Mallory and Ty and Amy's relationship, we would be bored with the show.
So great job cast and crew, I love you, you're awesome, thanks for such an amazing show!!!

Firstly congrats to the writers in keeping themselves honest, it must have been tempting to go for the predictable happy ending but real life is rarely that accommodating.
Starting with the nice bits, first Georgie. She seems like a resourceful little toughie with the same determined stubbornness as Amy, meaning that she will probably turn out to be just as much hard work - which actually might be a good thing since Ty is soon going to be very busy with Uni. As for Tim, well he was as ever himself until all of a sudden he morphed into this sensible caring dad who not only looked after two girls on his lonesome - that tea-towel nappy was inspired - but just as surprising came up with some painfully honest advice for Ty. As Jack would have noted, 'who knew'.
As for the whole Ty-Amy thing, well we now the truth. Clearly Ty's obsession with an engagement wasn't really about a future together but rather about holding on tight. I guess its understandable really, first he lost his Dad, then came close to losing his own life in the accident, and then to top it all could have lost Amy to a travelling horse show. Thankfully Amy's caution and a lot of timely interruption prevented any serious damage, but it could have all so easily ended up with the pair of them locked into a very uncertain future.
In the end though the best thing for me about this episode was that Amy said 'lets wait' rather than 'no', meaning that the writers will have to come back to this subject in the future, which has to be good. (yes?)

To the writers of heartland I just wanted to say good job and to keep up the good work. The one thing I like about the show is you can’t always predict everything if that were the case the show would be boring and not interesting. That’s what keeps me coming back every week. You are doing a good job keeping everyone guessing. And to the disappointed and unhappy heartland fans give the writers a break they are doing a good job. It’s like I said if everything was so predictable the show would not be as interesting. I don’t know about yall but I like a show that keeps me guessing that’s what keeps me coming back.

to writers I know that u have your ideas on how everything will play out for the season but it seem that the fans where on the same page after season 5 ended we seem to be in a little bit of some turmoil right now I have faith that u will be able to bring everyone back from this.

Chuck's comment is right on the money. After 5 Seasons of build-up to the moment of Ty's proposal, the whole thing has been dragged out too long and the writers are just toying with us now. Either they decide to get married or they don't, but don't disrespect both the character's relationships and the viewers who live vicariously through them. Yeesh. (Of course I'll keep watching though, never miss an episode).

I was kinda disappointed that the relationship between Ty/Amy didn't appear to be as loving as it was in Season 5. I think that what Amy said about not tying each other down within the last 4 months, she should've found a way to connect again with Ty to show him that she didn't mean it that way.
Sometimes I wonder if Amber's(Amy) real-life engagement has played a role in how confortable she feels relating to Graham(Ty).
They need to re-engage the spark that they had between each other, doing things together, supporting each other through life, and communicating with each other heart-to-heart, sharing their feelings and comforting each other.
It seems like Jack's fatherly advice or assistance to help Ty has been lacking. It appears that Jack appears to be distracted with Georgie that he forgot to support Ty.
Now that Ty realizes that Amy wants him to ask however she wants it to be a "Take your Breath away moment", now maybe he will show us and show her how he really feels about her. As for us, we should kinda see it obvious that they are ready to commit.
It was a shame that Lou was not more supportive of Ty when things didn't turn out as he wanted rather than telling him he blew it.

I look forward to watching Heartland every week as it is family oriented show that is Canadian. This is why I am deeply disappointed in the last episode "Crossing Signals" in which the "animal hoarder" was referred to as a "nutbar". I think this is extremely disrespectful to people suffering with this disease and that it sends a message that it's ok to refer to these people (or any person suffering from some sort of mental illness)as "nutbars".

Hello Everyone;
I was finally able to watch the show and appparently I can't seem to watch this show without crying. I was sad to see Phoenix Rising aka Skye be picked up by his owner. The person that does the makeup for the horses to give them that look for this episode. Really did do one AWESOME job. Why do I say that? Because I was really affected by it. What I mean is that I was really sad for the horses. I DIDN'T like seeing them this way. I was actually glad when Georgie had stowed away in the trailer. Because if she hadn't then the horses would have NEVER/NOT ever been helped.
The fact that Katie had head lice in this episode that does indeed go with what goes on in schools. Because I am certain that people who have had kids have experienced their children being sent home with a letter or etc... The fact that Lou and Peter had to ask Jack to watch Katie was cute. Tim taking over was cute, and I like the diaper improvise in this episode. That part where Lou had looked at Katie's new style diaper was cute. Katie watching football - was cute also. I had watched Katie in the episode where Jack was already in the kitchen and Tim and him were talking. Why did I look? Because I REALLY LIKED how she was watching intently.
When Ty had asked Amy to marry him. If I was Amy I would've said yes. Why would I have said yes? Because irregardless when you love someone you love them. Also, these 2 characters have been dating for 5 years and with her saying no Ty may feel a bit discouraged in asking her later. He may have doubts linger in his own thoughts and even though he may not show it, most likely it had affected him and in a negative way.
I like how Amy had went to look at the barn where Skye was from and that just proved even more to Georgie that she is cared about at Heartland. I had enjoyed that Amy was determined to look inside the barn.
I was also happy to see Amy have Skye there at the barn where he was from more as a point for the woman. Because Amy wanted to get through to her how she does indeed need help with her horses. That yes she misses the man that she loves however it isn't fair to herself or to the horses to leave things like this. I really do enjoy how she got through to her. I REALLY DO.
I was happy to see Phoenix Rising aka Skye back at the Heartland ranch. I was also happy that Jack had talked to Georgie about staying at Heartland for a while until the powers that be find her some other place to go to. You can already see the family connection between these 2.
The walk that both Amy and Ty had outside of the barn, I would've loved that walk. It is beautiful there. However I felt really sad for Ty that Amy had said what she did. Why am I sad? I am sad because when a person proposes they put their heart and soul into that proposal and when you know that you love a person you indeed know this.
If I were to put myself in the writer's thoughts and/or the character's thoughts as in Amy I would oprobably think that she means that she has a lot on her plate right now. That Ty will soon have even more on his plate and that she really loves him however she doesn't see the harm in waiting longer. That with marriage comes other responsibilities and that they have to both be certain when the right time is. That since they both do indeed love each other that really there is no harm in waiting. At least that is what I am thinking where this is coming from. I do understand what she means however when she had mentioned it should be special to Ty in regards to the proposal I had felt for the character Ty here. Why? Because even though that thought is nice still the true special moments are the memories that you make together. The true special moments are the things that you don't take for granted in each other. The true special moments is when you are with the person that you love.
The song at the end had triggered tears from me.

I like the new girl Georgina AKA Georgie (: It's sucks about Mallory but anyway... Amy said to Ty that engagement/marriage should wait. Now that sucks! But hey they are together. Tim seemed annoyed about both Peter and Ty asking Jack first for permission to marry one of his daughters. Poor Tim. Thank you SO MUCH crew and cast of Heartland for filming a season 6 for us viewers/fans! I also love the songs and music Heartland has. Bye!

I loved Grandpa Tim :)) That was too cute but the question remains, where does Lou keep the diapers? ;)
And the look on Tim`s face when he tasted Katie`s food was priceless... "How about a banana?"... Lol
Tim and Ty was great to see because these scenes are rare on the show. Tim`s first reaction and not giving Ty permission was just typical Tim. I do not think anyone expected anything else. Then he gave it a second thought and had another conversation with Ty giving him some advice.
This time I will say something about Ty and Amy. It`s only 2 eps out of 18, so I trust the writers in how this whole storyline will develop throughout the season. Last season they did a great job with Tim starting to drink again and recovering, this was done amazingly. And keep in mind the Ty and Amy storyline is much more important, so it may take a while (or more than a few eps) to be solved but I think there will be a Happy End. An end that will make Ty and Amy and the fans happy.
Thanks Cast and Crew :)

I was going to wait, give the season a couple more weeks to get rolling, but.... this season has GOT to get better ! We're only two episodes in and already I have an episode, 602, that I will never watch again, it's just too painful, disappointing and depressing, much like a number of Season 4 episodes that I skip over when watching the DVD. I assume that most, if not all, of the episodes are already completed, so what ever direction the writers have taken can't be un-done. I do hope that if they have dragged the whole Ty&Amy proposal marriage storyline all the way through the season, they at least got the spark back into the relationship. After episode 602, there isn't even any smoke. Did anyone else feel like that storyline was like an after thought, like a filler between the other storylines ? Some of it didn't seem to make sense. Amy is furious with Jack & Lou for not telling her that Ty was going to propose, yet see found the ring 3 months previous. Then, in the next breath, she's yelling at Ty for the proposal not being romantic and a surprise, which, would have been ruined if Jack or Lou had told her. And what the heck was Ty's apology for not being "articulate" enough ? Not sure what that referred to and the word itself seemed totally out of place. And then there's Amy's "can't we wait" .... for what, or, until what/when ? A few more lines of dialogue would have been nice in that scene, as well as, when they were sitting on the canoe.
Okay, I've vented, enough. I'll keep watching and praying that things improve. If not, maybe I'll just wait until the Season 6 DVD comes out and go through the pain & agony in a couple of days, rather than months of disappointment. I know that won't help the ratings for a possible Season 7, but, the start they're off to this season, and the apparent disappearance of so many of the previous, regular characters, I don't know if I watch anyway. Thanks for listening.

I was very disappointed with this episode for two reasons. The relationship between Ty and Amy has been central to the show. They need to evolve into the next step of marriage/engagement or to move on. The story line of conflict and confusion is getting tiresome and pact. Too many other shows have continued the theme of mixed signals and almost there type of long term relationships to the point that many leave the fan base out of boredom. One more unexplained fight or walking away during a vital relationship is old business.
I do not know what happened to the actors that are no longer featured on the show. The development of the charactors is missed and their absence is showing up as a less than quality journey through time at Heartland. I am growing weary of ill behaved teens and their drama. The show seems stuck and the writers must evolve with the addition of new seasons.
I am very sad that the new season has not seen a rich continuation of a great saga. I am hoping the writers are planning an about face.

I haunt gotten to see any of seasons 4,5 or 6 so I don't know a lot of what you are talking about, but I do love what I have seen of the show. I wish you could still watch the episodes con YouTube, but now I have to buy all the season to watch them. I have seasons 1 and 2. I can't wait to watch more and catch up with everyone else.

Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to add - HATS OFF TO THE WRITERS OF HEARTLAND!!!
You all are impressively creative, you all make the world of Heartland come to life. You are the ones that create the things that we see with the words that you write. You are the ones that are helping this world. What do I mean by this? Your show even though inspired and/or based on a book - you are the ones that write about family, about friends, about community, about the animals and the land that surrounds us.
YOU ARE THE ONES that encourage the people in this world that watch this show to do better. To do better in the sense of the ones that they love and for the animals and land that surrounds them.
I say again; HATS OFF TO THE WRITERS OF THIS SHOW HEARTLAND!!!
Sincerely and Gratefully,
Tanya

Since I can't watch current episodes in US,I dreamt an entire episode last night on the whole proposal. I woke up at 3:58am. Too bad the writers don't take suggestions. Somebody please put the second episode on youtube. Netflix only carries up to season 3 and my usual youtube providers may have lost the ability to load onto youtube.

I think for a new episode a fan should come up to Amy' like not a fan of the show but a fan of what Amy does and a?y was flattered' the fan wants to know her secrets and Amy end s up teaching them.
Another one could be they find out Miranda isnt actually shanes mother but when she finds out she is devastated and still wants to be his mum.
Also TY SHOULD MARRY AMY!!!!!!!!!!;-)
