Well Heartland fans, it's the first day of summer as we continue the countdown to the Season 6 premiere of Heartland. Word on that as well as other odds and ends make up this Thursday's post. Read on!
The countdown continues!
Yes, we're slightly over 3 months, or 94 days until September 23, the date when Heartland's Season 6 Premiere, Running Against the Wind, will first broadcast on CBC Television at 7:00pm across Canada (7:30pm in Newfoundland).
DVDs!
I know Heartland fans in Canada have been more than patient waiting for the release date of the boxed DVD release of Season 5. I had received and announced a June date from eOne Entertainment, which was moved down to August. Now once again --but for the last time, I'm told-- the release date has been moved to Tuesday, September 18. It's a little frustrating I know, but the logic (which makes sense) is to tie in the DVD release for last season to the buzz and anticipation that the start of this new season is going to bring.
So then Canada: September 18 is the date when you can purchase Season 5's DVDs. If you are outside of Canada you'll be able to order the DVDs from Amazon.com, but be aware of which region you're in, as these DVDs are meant to be for Canada and the United States only (unless you have a region-free DVD player!)
Anticipating Season 6!
Now let me give you a small clue regarding what you can expect in Season 6 by revealing to you (some for the first time) the confirmed titles for the first third of the season. Here are the titles to Episodes 601 through 606:
601 - Running Against the Wind
602 - Crossed Signals
603 - Keeping Up Appearances
604 - The Natural
605 - Trial Run
606 - Helping Hands
Hmmmmmm... I'm already wondering what stories these episodes will bring! Except for the ones I've already read. Teehee.
However, we have now seen Alisha!
The young girl looking at the camera in this photo is 10-year-old Alisha Newton, who is a new regular Heartland cast member, playing Georgie in Season 6. Last Saturday the Town of High River, Alberta hosted a huge bash celebrating their association with Heartland, and this was Alisha's first chance to meet fans of the television series she now works on. The photo above is of a cake cutting ceremony, with Mayor Emile Blokland doing the honours to the cake as Amber, Michelle, Shaun and Graham watch. Alisha seems to be enjoying looking out at all the fans looking back.
The cake, I'm told (as they did not send me any), was delicious, and the turnout was fantastic, as you can tell from this photo taken from the roof of the bakery situated directly across the street from Maggies.
High River is a lovely little town and if you are a Heartland fan visiting Calgary, think about taking a road trip south and checking out the town which contains the only visible set from Heartland that the public can see any time of the day or night.
Repeat of 510 this Sunday
This Sunday CBC Television continues its repeat broadcast of Heartland's Season 5 with a repeat of Episode 510. This is the episode where Alcatraz is introduced to viewers. Alcatraz, you'll remember is the horse that no one except Amy thought was capable of being saved.
I hope you enjoy it, and watch for more repeats from Season 5 on July 1 and July 8, when episodes 511 and 512 will respectively be broadcast at Heartland's regular time, 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland).

WOW, this is some great information! Thanks so much BW! I have been thinking about story lines for each one. Here goes:
Running against the wind: Amy confesses about the ring or Ty proposes without Amy telling him anything. They talk about it and they are having problems which suggests the title and but they do get engaged! Also Lou and Peter have finished packing and they start redecorating the Hanley place.
Crossed Signals: Maybe they don't get engaged in the first episode and this one is more about them talking about and getting crossed lines, like getting confused with who knows what. Lou and Peter still decorating, maybe they move in, who knows!
Keeping Up Appearances: Hehe! In the UK there is a programme called this and it is about a family but I doubt it will have any thing similar! Blah blah blah blah......! If Amy and Ty are engaged by now, Lou, Peter, Jack and everyone else knows!
The Natural: I have no clue what might happen in this!
Trial Run: This may mean Ty and Amy are planning their wedding and things, I may be rushing it but I'm not sure what's happening!
Helping hands: Maybe Lou helps Amy plan the wedding! So many things could happen!
This is my interpretation if what might happen but I would love to hear everyone elses! Also, if Ty and Amy had a kid it would be great if it was a girl. Girls ride horses way better, (Sorry!) and it would be lovely to see their child grow up. Amy could teach her how to ride and it would be great. Anyway, I can't wait til next Thursday for another update and I'm loving the Monday time killers! Thanks a lot! Bye from me now!

Ass for Mallory ( Jessica Amlee ) well this seems to be a complicated one. She has bin seen on set, but the twitter read: ".@malloryland sighting! It appears Jessica Amlee is back but it might just be the tying up of a loose end from last season!"
So after reading that tweet lots of comotion already went about, and most came to the conclusion that this will probably be the last year we see Mallory.
Somewere this makes sense originaly Mallory was introduced as "the link to the younger audiance" Since she is all grown up now, that link has slowly bin dying. Obviously we got Shane now, but Mallory allways had her counterparts playing with her as well Jake, Badger and Austin, The Introduction of "Georgie" ( Alisha Newton ) isnt Much of a suprise i am guessing then. Since she will be the link towards the younger viewer togheter with Shane!
I still have no clue if its Jessica's decision are not to quite. I guess it is, as ther is more then enough room for her story to evolve. But alas new times bring new changes and with that new chances!! We will have to see what it will bring to Jessica
Ps. most of this is speculation ofcoarse but i am confident that it indeed is the last season we will see Mallory in!

Amy polishes the ring before she shows it off to the Barlett, Fleming, etc. families and friends.
604 - The Natural
Of course it's a real diamond!
605 - Trial Run
Duh - Wedding rehearsal.
606 - Helping Hands
The bridesmaids, flower girls and groomsmen all help Amy and Ty pack for their honeymoon to Fort St. John, I mean Paris!

This Heartland-loving family is broken hearted tonight, after reading this. We live in the USA, so we won't even get to see season 6 until a year after it starts. So season 5 coming out on DVD, first in June was something we could hardly wait for. Then it got pushed back to Aug & yet, more waiting... So then we were thinking it would be like Christmas in Aug, since that's what we'd want for Christmas--is more Heartland. Now, you're going to make us wait yet another month. That's not hard for those of you that have already seen season 5. But for those of us that haven't--well, that's like telling little kids that Christmas is postponed. :-(

601 - Running Against the Wind
Obviously its more of a expression often used in situations were it feels like every bit of efford you try has no to little result. How does this fit in a episode?
I asked that myself and i only came to one conclusion, Ty didnt propose its several months later now. Ty got accepted to vet school. Amy is hopelessly trying to give signals to Ty that she knows about the ring, but doesnt confront him. Time is running out before Ty's school courses begins, and it feels like "running against the wind" for Amy to try to make Ty fess up about the ring and falters to one knee asking her. Which she obviously wants to happen!!! ( even mentioning the whole tying eachother down thing wasnt ment like how it sounded )
602 - Crossed Signals
Its nearly that time!! Ty school begins only a couple of days from now!! Amy is getting upset, while Ty finaly made the desicion to ask Amy to marry her. All of this crosses each others paths, but at the end of the episode it finaly happens the big engagement in the only place possible .... The jump course that Ty build in the first season!! ( ofcoarse by now everybody seems to know about the ring, the comming engament and Ty & Amy's struggle )
603 - Keeping Up Appearances
This is going to be the Funn episode were Ty & Amy decide not to tell any one about the engament yet!! And "keep up the appearance" That nothing has bin asked or sayd yet. Obviously our newest member of the family Goergie finds out and blurts it out during dinner!! 0o so much funn!! Mallory who is visiting is stuned ... how come she wasnt the first to find out!! ... did she lost her touch??
604 - The Natural
This could mean anything and everything, i Guess were going to see a lot of lovebird scenes here Jack & Lissa, Amy & Ty, Peter & Lou, Tim & Miranda, and ofcoarse the big farewell between Mallory & Jake!!! 0o i am going to miss her
605 - Trial Run
So hows this going to work out planning a wedding, Ty going to school Amy running the Ranche! Living together and the likes, Maybe even trial of the wedding day!! who knows??
606 - Helping Hands
Apperantly its all going to be to much, and just when Amy feels she's losing controll over the whole situation, there she is ... Soraya!! Lucky for her now her BFF can go and help her plan the wedding ..... or is Soraya back to anounce someting special of her own??
Ok i could keep wrighting but i guess my vision is clear enough as it is for these eps isnt it :p

I went to amazon.ca to see about pre-ordering Season 5. There appears to be a listing for it, but there is no image available. It says "Heartland S5 Comp" available for pre-order and will ship on August 21st. Was that the original release date before changing to Sept 18th and it just hasn't been changed? They were filming at the race track yesterday and monday, basicly meaning that they try out there new racing horse Cisco!! Since the actrice playing Janice has bin spot on set. I take it there is going to be some fireworks between the miranda/Janice/Tim triangle!!
Since Tim thought he would never see Janice again he hooked up with Miranda in 1 of the previous 4 episodes ..... the question is .... why is Janice there .... Is she there only for racing Cisco??? Or is she going to declare her love for Tim .....

Here's what i think will happen in the first 6 episodes:
601 - Running Against the Wind: Ty will propose and Amy doesn't know what to say.
602 - Crossed Signals: Maybe Ty will propose is this episode, i could be rushing it.
603 - Keeping Up Appearances: I think that this one will have something to do with Lou. :)
604 - The Natural: I can't think of one for this one.
605 - Trial Run: Maybe wedding planing days??
606 - Helping Hands: that everyone will help Amy and Ty out as much as they can. :)

Just found the diner on google earth - it gives the address as "121 3 Avenue Southwest". Local shops that are marked on google earth are Pekisko Trading Company Ltd, Hidden Charm Boutique and Monster Hobbies. :-)
