Gee, the title of this blog post reads WAY more dramatically than I meant it to. But now that two full months have passed since the Season 5 finale, and because in roughly four months the Season Premiere should air, this means we are one-third of the way through the longest no-new-Heartland-episode phase of the year.
And yes, four months is a looooong time. But because those four months include the whole of SUMMER(!), that's gonna go a long way to ease the pain of waiting, wouldn't you agree? Anyway, read on for some answers to your questions!
With no Stanley Cup playoff game scheduled for this Sunday, it means that once again, right across the full CBC network we can all enjoy a repeat from Season 4. So this Sunday, at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland) tune in and catch Episode 408 - One Day. This is the episode where Amy is hired to conduct a horse clinic with a group of inmates and one of them turns out to be a friend from Ty's bad old days at the group home.
All the photos posted in today's blog are from this Sunday's repeat episode. Lots of horses as well as Mrs. Bell and her bees and Mallory with both Badger and Jake. I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you catch it again this Sunday!
Now for a few questions from past posts...
Ashley wrote, could we possibly have a photo of Jessica (Mallory) on set?
I asked the Heartland stills photographer, but he tells me that Jessica has not been seen on set, and it doesn't appear that she is in the current scripts either. Remember, she did move to Nashville in the second-to-last episode of Season 5. :(
Keara asks, Ok, so is season 6 going to be the last season of Heartland?
No one can possibly know that Keara. With these series, additional seasons go on a year-to-year basis. I can tell you one thing and that is everyone on the cast and crew want there to be more seasons, and that's a good place to start. No one is bored making more episodes, and as long as so many of us fans continue to watch Heartland when it airs on CBC, I think there is an excellent chance we will see additional seasons.
Aoife asks, Hey BW!!;) Do you know if Heartland Season 5 is going to be on E4 in England this Summer like the last four seasons?
As of yesterday E4 had not yet secured the rights to air Season 5 of Heartland. That does not mean they won't, but it means maybe they need a little prodding from UK fans! Don't be shy about emailing them and telling them to get with it!!!
Aimee asks, Isn't it also Amber Marshall's birthday on the 2nd of June?...
It certainly is and she'll be turning 24. Visit Amber on her Facebook page and wish her a happy birthday!
SnowBunny asks, Hi Blog Whisperer ! This might be a really stupid question, but I found myself wondering how the writers came up with new scripts for season 6 of Heartland so quickly ? I mean, with the fate of this show so long in the unclear- had they prepared new scripts in advance in hopes of the show continuing ?
That's nowhere near being a stupid question! Although the producers had not been told that there was going to be a Season 6, they were told to prepare as if there would be, so the writers were all putting scripts and storylines together, hoping that the 6th season would be greenlit and sure enough it was. It would have been VERY depressing had it not been picked up by the CBC, but it was and so... YAY!

The answer is yes and yes. There will be prizes for those Heartland fans outside of Canada, and other charities will be given set visits to auction off. Should any put them online I'll let everyone know both in here and on Facebook, to give more fans the chance to contribute to a worthy cause and maybe get to visit the set of their favourite television show!
ABBEE asks, Hey BW, last week you mentioned that the cast was being interviewed and I was just wondering when/if these will be made available to the public?
No "ifs" about it, they will DEFINITELY be made available both here and through CBC LIVE, but rather than show all the footage at once they're going to spread it out over the next few months so we can enjoy these clips when they air throughout the summer. Plus, like I said, the shot some little treats for me, too! Again, when they're posted I will let everyone know, 'cause that's what I do!
Katrina writes, Hey BW, I am a huge Heartland fan and am so glad that Season 6 is currently in production. If one wanted to work on Heartland on the set as part of the crew, how would one go about that process to get onto the film crew?
Just like any other profession, Katrina. You train for it. All of the cast and crew are trained professionals. If you are really interested in possibly working in film and television, you should research local film schools or similar training institutes where you can learn skills that you can use to embark on a career in film & television.
Mariah asks, How come you can not watch the latest episodes online, when I try it says "this content is currently unavailable"?
The CBC is only allowed to stream episodes of Heartland to Canadians, for they do not have the rights outside of Canada. So far no American network has decided to stream episodes they have broadcast in the US. Sorry.
Nancy asks, I haven't been able to see Heartland for months. Did they quit showing it in CA. USA? All I can find is reruns of 2008 and 2009. What can I do?
Just sit tight and wait, Nancy. Starting in August or September there will be another block of 24 episodes airing on television channels across the United States, and this will show all episodes to the end of Season 4 and will include A Heartland Christmas. :)
And Sandy writes, When are you going to put new episodes on the TV???
All I can do is say... check out last Thursday's post, where I answered that question as well as I could then. I know you can find it, for that's where you posted your question. :)

A couple of final notes
If you are a regular on the Heartland Fan Community Forum --and if you aren't why not?!-- you may have noticed some strange things going on there lately, with a modified appearance and some odd bugs cropping up. What's happening is that a BIG upgrade rolled out, addressing almost all of the feature requests you were asking for, and now as it's being used they are just squashing the occasional bug that crops up. So do keep posting your feedback, but you can probably be assured that any technical problems you are having on the forum will be fixed over the next few days.

Horse Day includes educational stations, riding and driving demonstrations and information displays in an effort to promote horses and equestrian activity in Ontario.

So I was wondering if you could tell me exactly which season it was that Caleb gets caught in the rigging at the rodeo and knocked unconscience / hurt? We try to catch the broadcasts down here in Texas but most of them are re-runs. That was the last/newest episode we have seen. The show airs on Saturday and Sunday in our area. Even though they are re-runs we sometimes turn the TV set on and just go do something else (just to try and keep the ratings up).Thanks ahead of time for your input.

I also had an idea for a monday time waster, my favourite characters on the show are Mrs. Belle, Badger, Caleb and Jake! But, they're all very minor and there is not much talk about them. Mallory fans - I may be wrong about this, but I think I remember either via Twitter or Blog posts from last season that Mallory will likely be back for selected episodes of Season 6. Jessica Amlee probably has some other professional and/or personal commitments this year. I'd be surprised if we don't see Mallory at Heartland a few times during Season 6. And she of course will be one of Amy's bridesmaids at the wedding when that happens sometime between Season 6 and 16!

Hey I was just wondering why the riders in Heartland don't wear helmets all the time. Personally, some of Amy's head injuries could have been spared by wearing a helmet, like when she fell in Season 1, and again in Season 4.

While I am not happy about Mallory being gone, I am still hoping that she will be back at some point !! But why not bring Jake & Badger back without necesarily connecting it to Mallory's return. Let Badger have his own story ! For example: Badger messed up again and is being send back to Heartland to work off his punishment. (Just like Ty back in Season 1).Badger would help out with all the work around Heartland and turn his life around. Then,one day, Mallory will come back to Heartland and be really surprised to see Badger there. Eventually, they will get closer again and (finally !) get together.... (a second 'Ty & Amy' so to speak). What do you think ? Just an idea (wishful thinking...)!
