Oh my gosh! A 6th season!!!!! Yay! I live in the US and I previously watched the episodes on youtube, but now that they aren't there anymore I won't be able to watch season 6 unless a miracle happens! Heartland is one of my favorite shows! Thanks BW! :)

Commenting on the photos through time. The original pilot episode has Ty with his hair parted in center and a bit shorter. That 2006 photo has a facial expression that conveys "juvenile delinquent" and even a hardened person. Other photos in 2007 show a softer face and hair. Amazing how things like that make a difference.

We have never missed an episode since Heartland first aired! Heartland is the reason that my daughter wanted to join 4H! Could you let me know if there is a way my 4H girls could be an extra on the show?

And I hope you now know that Frisco never forgets. I posed a question to you not too long ago and you said you would answer it when you knew for sure what was going to happen with Season 6......here's a repost of the question.;))

Also, I have an honest question for BW and I hope you'll give an answer. If you do I know it will be an honest one.:)) You claimed you felt this was the best 'season' finale yet.....and I truly believe you. But my question is, would you be truly happy and satisfied, given the ending, with this episode as a 'series' finale? I saw you mention before that this episode was meant as a 'season' finale, not a 'series' finale.

So given Ty and Amy at this point are really the focal and most loved characters in the show. I know not everyone see's that, but let's face it, the vast majority of fan videos and fan fic feature Ty and Amy. Most of the anticipation going into Season 5 was if Ty and Amy were back together, most of the anticipation going into this finale was on Ty and Amy, and if there is a Season 6, most of the anticipation will be on Ty and Amy....that's just the way it is.

Given that, and given the ending wasn't a happy one for them....it was very uncertain, unsettling and incomplete. Would you, BW, truly be happy and satisfied with that kind of ending for the most loved characters on this show, and then . . . .THE END. Story is over.

I'd really love to hear your honest opinion there.:))

I think if season 6 is the last one its a good way to go. they DO however need to focus each episode on a particular horse like they originally planned as the shows main purpose seems to be lost, as much as we all love heartthrob family drama, its about HORSES and that's why I started watching it in the first place!

Brilliant news glad for everyone from actors to crew and staff. Long may Heartland run it's the greatest, cleanest show on tv. Great story lines great acting from all the stars but I truly love Chris Potter and I would love to see him and Miranda get back together. I don't think Amy will marry Ty YET, but will get engaged, but please bring Mallory back I love her comic wit with Jack all the stars are terrific. To date I have got season 1-4 of Heartland waiting for season 5 and Heartland Christmas to come out, I used to watch on you tube but now I can't so please hurry with season 5 so I can see the last episode. I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland I wish we had Heartland on our tv here.

I Had a bad day, this is the best thing that happened today, and it has make my day beautiful!!

I'm so happy!!!

I am soooo happy for everyone involved in this show. I always thought there would be a season 6 because the writers wouldn't have ended it with so many items up in the air. But I have to admit the longer it took i started to get a little worried.

This year should be great

1. Watching Lou and Peter renovate and move into the Hanley estate,(HA HA)
2. Will Tim and Miranda get together (I hope so as the 2 actors chemistry is great)
3. How did Jack fair in Paris and will he come back with a new French Chapeau
4. Is Soraya actually gone for good or will she bring her English Dandy back home with her
5. Will Kaleb and Kelly be a new character ( I really miss Cindy Busby though)
6. Mallory HAS to come back. We need her.

there is think if have said everything,,,oops oh yeah will Amy and Ty get engaged. I think engaged would be good but they don't have to get married right away. That way there will be more seasons.

My family & I are doing the happy dance!!! We're so excited there will be a season 6. We live in the States & haven't even seen season 5 yet, but we're eagerly waiting until August to buy it. I am in England and it is almost 1am but I have been checking daily to see if there was news of a season 6, best news I have had for a long time it has made my day a lot better. I have just finished watching season's 1 - 4 on DVD again I never get fed up of watching them and look forward to season 5 being broadcast on TV later this year.
Heartland is a wonderful show with a great cast and crew may it continue for a long time.

I am very happy to read that Heartland is back for season six. However I do have some questions for the Blog Whisperer. Can we see a Jack or Mrs. Bell thru the years?? I still remember watching Shaun Johnston as Jake on Jake and the Kid. My parents and I loved that show and were sad to see it go. I would love to see what would happen if Mallory returned to Heartland and Badger and Jake showed up that day too. Interesting. YAY!! That is definitely excellent news, certainly made my day. Can't wait to hear all about the filming of season 6, and watching it of course.
As I commented ages ago after the season 5 finale, I really really hope the writers find some way of showing us what happened between Amy and Ty... even though the new episode will be set months later. Its so not fair if we don't get to see the proposal (regardless of which way it goes)!!!

And the cast and crew get to keep their jobs! Awesome!! That is always good news!! And they deserve to keep the story going.

I read this for the first time yesterday at lunch on my phone. I didn't read all the post, not the title of it, so I didn't see the "and way more" part. I was scrolling through the Ty pictures while talking to my friend, when all of a sudden I see "NO PICTURE AVAILABLE" and I thought something was wrong with my phone cause I didn't notice the title "Season 6" (again I wasn't paying attention closely). After reading the red letters I started squealing and my friend (realizing I'm not paying attention to her anymore) asks if I'm okay and I'm like "HECK YEAH THEY ARE MAKING A SEASON 6 OF HEARTLAND!" she's never seen the show before so I gave her a quick run down, ending with "And then Ty was gonna propose but was too chicken to and then Amy found the ring in his coat pocket!" and she, never even having saw the show before, said "Well that's a stupid way to end it."

Phewww! I am so glad that I was wrong!! I can't wait to see what happens next! Though I agree with what Stephanie wrote above: I hope they start focusing on more on the horses again... Maybe Ty learns how to gentle Ghost or something like that... I'd love to see some development on that front because the two of them seem to have a connection... almost a deep understanding that I hope gets more attention in Season 6!!

The writers can do a lot with the Amy and Ty relationship through Season 6. At least, I hope they do. I'm ready for that relationship to acutally go to the next level, their kisses didn't advance with their relationship last season; the kisses were just quick "friend" kisses. So, writers, bring it next season, ok? Show a bit more passion between those two. They are getting engaged after all.

OK, now that we can exhale, I just want to stand-up for Ty a little bit and say that I don't think he wimped-out at all by holding-off on asking Amy. To begin with, Ty has become very thoughtful and wise for his age, and asking someone to marry you is kind of a big deal/decision, eh?!! Also, he had not even asked Tim for permission yet. Just because the ring was in his pack and Amy found it, does not mean he was planning to ask her that night. He'd had it in his pack or pocket for weeks/months...maybe so that Mallory wouldn't find it and lose it like she did with Carl's ring back in Season One :>)! And that puzzled-ish quasi-anquished look on Amy's face? To me that could easily be interpreted, as many have already suggested on the blog, as realizing that she maybe had goofed by talking so much about not holding each other back in life, or...her expression could just as easily been interpreted as meaning "Holy Cow, Ty is going to ask me to marry him...how huge and amazing is that! The biggest step and most wonderful thing to happen to me in my life!" I think it is obvious that she will definitely say "yes" when Ty asks her sometime after he's talked to Tim. How the writers handle it all, and whether we have to wait beyond Episode 1, will be fun and interesting to see. In the warped part of my Heartland mind, I guess I could conger-up the twisted thought that Amy saw that the cell call was from Blair, and then seeing the ring, thinking that Ty was going to run-off and elope with the Evil One :>)!! But especially after all the angst that the writers have seen was caused for fans by that last scene in Episode 18, plus the double-angst of the Season 6 renewal drama, they wouldn't do something like that to us now, would they?! ;)! Just wanted to stick-up for my TV pals Ty and Amy!

Hmmm BW...If as you noted ("duly noted"), we can assume that Ty has already received Tim's permission, then that does change my thinking about this. Not sure how. But to me when Ty was outside theoretically "to get some more wood for the fire," he didn't look stressed at all. Somewhat contemplative, yes. Amy's the one who looked stressed, but as I've mentioned before, that look could be interpreted as shock and surprise as much as anything. Not everyone controls their exact facial expressions when reacting to finding surprises, especially when alone at the time which she was. On the other hand, since this is "TV theatre," I guess we can assume that her facial expressions were intentionally "possibly" negative, and maybe that it even took a few takes to get them the exact way the director and Amber wanted them to look. It is definitely going to be "fun" (in maybe a sick way) to see what the writers have in store for us. But unless they want to hear screams of anquish from fans echoing around the globe, I doubt seriously that they will have Amy say "No" to Ty's proposal, whenever it may come. At worst, maybe they'll draw-out him asking her a few episodes. My advice?...During the first 5 minutes of Episode 1...Ty - Ask her...Amy - Say "yes." Why is it I doubt the writers will make it that simple?

The Ty pictures are revealing. He actually as a forehead! We haven't seen it since the pilot. It makes him look like that 50s actor Montgomery Clift whom we can see on Youtube. He was in that movie with Elizabeth Taylor where he played a poorboy cousin of hers. Sort of like Ty in a way.
I expect that once shooting begins on Season 6 the BW will be bringing us news and stills from the set. We'll try and figure out what's happening.

When I think of Ty being such an outsider with a past, I think of that old movie The Fugitive Kind where Marlon Brando was a blues singer with a guitar and a snake-skin jacket. You can see some scenes on Youtube. The first scene where he goes in front of a judge you don't see is priceless. He explains how he got in trouble and promises to leave town and never come back. Brando didn't learn his lines and instead reads cue cards behind the camera and lights. With his timing and body language it all seems totally spontaneous and real.
Try and imagine the Heartland pilot with Ty in this scene and then showing up at Heartland! I think it would be great.

Okay! So obviously SOMETHING has to happen with the Ty/Proposal, Amy/Finding the Ring situation. As we all know, each and every season is spread four months apart. So, we can rightfully assume that Amy's NOT gonna say nothing about the ring, And, to be honest, I don't think she'll be able to! I honestly believe this is going to be hard for the writers to plan out. Like, Heather, you and your team are gonna have a tough time coming up with a reasonable and mind blowing solution! Unless of course they have already come up with one...
I just can't come up with one myself! It's not like they're gonna have the Premiere continue right where Season 5 left off! So, I'm not sure if they're gonna have Amy and Ty engaged in the Premiere and show flashbacks from the proposal or...
Gugh! This is driving me crazy! I can't come up with a reasonable solution! Just! Writers! Whatever it may be, make it one that all us (Amy and Ty) fans will be happy with. I don't think I'll be able to live through another Fourth Season Roller Coaster!

It is great news to hear that there will be a Season 6. My family has watched Heartland from the very begnning and we have seen every episode. While we are huge fans of the show, we found that Season 5 seemed to lose momentum with the exit of the Stanton characters played by Cindy Busby and Wanda Cannon. Here's hoping that the Heartland writers "kick it up a notch" in Season 6.

You can count on our family watching every episode. We don't intend for our comments to be posted but we did want to share our thoughts.

A Season 6 - man, that is fantastic news! I live in Toronto but was born and raised in Western Canada. Heartland is my connection to the West and hopefully will encourage Canadians and other folks around the world to visit Alberta and Western Canada in general.

I am very excited that Heartland was renewed for another season. My questions are are we still getting the regular 18 episode order or is it going to be a shortened season? Have there been any substantial budget cuts for season 6 that could affect the show too? For the first time me and my friend decided to read the blog at school togethor during our second study period while not many people where there.
We saw the news and I screamed sooo loud, we turned off the computer and ran away :) We did a happy danse around the whoooole school and got alooot of wierd looks from students and teachers alike. Then we got into alot of trouble but it was SOO worth it! I couldn't stop thinking about that all day!

The sixth season of heartland if there are 18 episodes (I don't know if the CBC will elimanate episodes because of the cuts). BUT if we get to 18, that will put hearland at over 100 episodes. the hundreth should be when amy and ty marry.

I was so happy there would be a season 6 my dogs almost trampled me while I was running (they are seriously hyper), not to mention I fell! SOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!

WOW I can't believe that they are making a 6th season of Heartland I can't wait to see it I never miss an episode of the 5th season and i own all of the seasons on dvd and I love to sit and watch them all over again cause I love that lou and peter are staying around Heartland.

This is fantastic news. Now I can go back to watching hockey on CBC - my personal boycot is over. Looking ahead, I am totally pre-occupied with how the Amy/Ty situation will be resolved. It is safe to assume the writers had a season 6 in mind when the final scene was written so I am wondering what direction was given to Amber when she found the ring? What look was the director trying for? I have studied Amy's face, frame by frame, trying to decipher her intentions and I still can't come to a conclusion. Her look could mean anything from shock to disappointment to "what have I just done telling him I don't want to be tied down" to "are you crazy Ty". I saw no elation or excitement in her expression, although her eyes did come alive at one point, which might indicate her realization that the ring was for her. What was a terrible ending has now become the perfect ending since it has left all of us months to ponder their future. Congratulations Heartland for being the best show on television.

I would love to see Amy and Ty get married early in Season 6 and start a family toward the end of the Season. Am I rushing things a bit? Can't wait to see Ty with a baby of his own considering his terrible family life. He will be a terrific Dad.

YESS, I am so happy I could cry. Me and my mom watch Heartland together every sunday, it is amazing, I say keep the seasons coming.

Is it possible to get Heartland in the US? I really wish I could watch it more easily other than the 1 1/2 seasons that is on Netflix.

Hello! I've been a fan of Heartland since the very first season, but this is the very first comment I've ever posted to the blog. I'm 25 years old and I don't watch TV at all, aside from the weekly episode of Heartland. I guess you could say I'm a bit of an addict - I actually plan my Sundays around the show. I wanted to post to share how excited I was to hear that a 6th season is on it's way. I was beginning to worry that I'd have to find something else to do with my Sundays, but luckily... y'all don't disappoint. Thank you CBC, for recognizing what a gem you have in Heartland. I remember when Road to Avonlea was on the air, in this particular time slot, and I remember reading about the hype surrounding Heartland's time slot. Road to Avonlea was one of those shows that I used to watch with my family, because it was so friendly. My parents didn't have to worry about a curse word and they didn't have to worry if we were going to get an eyeful of adult content. Heartland is like that... it has a good story, but it's family friendly. CBC, kudos... you have a winner here. To the Heartland cast and crew, you are doing an amazing job. You've managed to draw at least one anti-television person in, and convince her that she NEEDS to tune in every week. :)

this has bin asked before in previous blogposts, But we never got a answer on it. There are vids on the "web exclusive" page ( behind the scenes with jessica ), i however cant view them. i get the same msg "content unavaileble" as i would when i try a episode video ( which i know we cant watch due to rights ). In one of those blogpost replys however you sayd those vids should be open to everyone, and you would look in to it. A answer however never came. Can you look in to that.

seccond question: is there away you could upload some bloopers, i got the dvd's unfortuantly mine dont have add content with bloopers. Realy would like to see some. Now that we going trough our first Heartland withdrawal that would be a nice edition.

@ Cathlene I agree Cindy has to comeback, unfortunatly for us ( not for her :P ) she's moving up in the world, and does well scoring roles in other series. I am afraid we wont see much of her. Although there is allways hope .... right

Jack obviously brings back Lisa :p reather the real romaticus in Jack is about to spring or not guess were going to find that out. France = France and Paris is the city of love. Who knows they might be maried when they come back ... rofl

First, belated congratulations to everyone associated with Heartland on getting the OK for a sixth season, clearly the decision was based on merit!

I see that the speculation over a proposal has already started, and I have to admit the idea of season six opening with Amy grabbing the ring and rushing outside to tell Ty 'yes' would be great - except I don't see it. Poor old Ty has already had it vividly confirmed by Amy's blindness to his fishing expeditions and conversational misfires that 'engagement' is simply not on her radar at the moment, so I don't think he will now chance a proposal until he gets some real solid encouragement. As to Amy, well she is faced with the biggest life changing question ever, being a wife and mom (babies!) is scary and we can all guess how likely it is that she will rush to embrace that, so I don't think the proposal will happen much before the third episode. Of course I could be completely wrong about all this and everything goes off in a happy flash, but then that would mean the writers have resisted the almost overwhelming temptation to bamboozle us for a few more episodes - hmm.

I have just re-watched every season on Netflix I can't wait for season 6 to start :) This news has made my day. I hope Ty and Amy get married in season 6. I also hope Mallory moves back to Heartland and starts dating Jake.

So excited! I forgot to read the blog for a couple of weeks and got on here to this surprise! So excited. Heartland is so amazing. I love horse shows and this seems to be one that I enjoy the most and actually continues to be produced! Yay!

Yeah! I love heartland! Best show ever! I watch like 3 episodes a night i only have episodes left. I wilol die waiting for the fall!!!!!!!!

It's a lot for us to repeatedly ask about it... but is there ANY hope for Heartland's U.S fans? Youtube keeps taking the videos down so it is a fight to be able to watch them, and on the other websites I keep getting viruses. Luckily, I have virus protection, but if I didn't, I don't think I would have a computer right now!

BIG CONGRATS to Graham Wardle for his 2012 Leo Award nomination just announced yesterday, let's hope 3rd time's the charm! The Leo Award website makes mention of the episode "Hell's Half Acre" early in Season Five, an episode that really doesn't feature much of the Ty storyline or Graham's acting abilities. Let's hope the "powers that be" look at ALL of Graham's work this past year ESPECIALLY his outstanding performances in episodes 11, 12 & 13 - "Fool's Gold" "Road to No Where" and "Aftermath", truly his best work and most deserving of industry recognition and Leo Award!! Best of luck, Graham.
