Answering questions is something I do a lot of during the off season and although I still have no information or updates on the big question that is in everyone's minds, there were a few great questions which have popped up in recent weeks, so I'm going to answer them now! Read on...
One that caught my eye was from Free Spirit, who wrote, ...I am also trying to find that gorgeous photo you posted fairly recently of the herd of horses in the episode "One Day" can you help me find it? I wanted to edit it and put a quote on it.
Well, FS - You're right, it is gorgeous! And so it's one of our pics of the day! I'm sure a lot of new fans will appreciate seeing it for the first time.
That set me to thinking, why not fill the photo section on today's post with horse-only images that haven't appeared on the blog before? So that's what I did! All the remaining photographs were expertly taken by stills photographer Andrew Bako during the filming of Episode 516 - "Wild Horses." Here's hoping you enjoy them!

Yes, there are different companies, and Amazon.com is one of them who acquire many copies of the DVD sets of Heartland's seasons and make them available around the world. And from what fans have been reporting, they get processed and delivered very promptly!
Please note: if you're in Canada and want to order Heartland DVDs online, you can do so through the CBC gift shop - http://www.cbcshop.ca/ but CBC isn't able to ship outside of Canada.

Well I have an update for everyone and unfortunately once again it means we're going to have to wait a while. A few weeks back I reported that eOne in Canada was going to be releasing Season 5 in June and although that was the original plan the company has just changed their schedule and now the 5th Season of Heartland will be available in August. As soon as I have the exact date I'll let everyone know in here. I know it means more waiting, but look at it this way: the August date is still three months ahead of November, when the past seasons of Heartland have been released!

Unfortunately Jordan, CBC only has the rights to stream these episodes to people in Canada. Heartland has been sold to 118 countries and in each of those countries the local broadcaster is the one who determines how the episodes can be delivered - including streaming. And in those countries with iTunes or Netflix the episodes can't be made available before they air on television. Because the US is a couple of seasons behind it's unfortunate, but eventually all episodes WILL air in your country. As I said above though, DVD's are available!

The address is still valid and yep - all mail addressed properly and received will get delivered. It may some time for the actors to get your letter though.

If a letter or card is personally addressed to an actor it is delivered to them. How each actor chooses to handle each of the correspondences is up to them - I don't really have anything to do with that.

Yes Kayla, the 18-episode Season 2 which aired in Canada and has now been seen on U.S. television will be going on sale June 5. So in addition to the 13-episode Season 1 you'll be able to find the second season in actual stores in the United States!

In both the UK and in France Heartland's 5th Season is going to be broadcast later this year. In the past both countries have released the DVDs shortly after their initial airing. As I wrote earlier, Heartland is in 118 countries and I don't have all the dates of broadcast nor DVD street dates - all though there are tons of AWESOME fans all over the world who post details like that here on the blog! The best thing to do is check with the broadcaster in your country; they are the ones who will have the most information for you.

That was a decision that eOne, the DVD distributor, made in their packaging. Perhaps they wanted a different look to make it stand out from the other seasons. I think you'll find that Season 5 will have a completely different look as well! The production supplies hundreds of photos to the broadcasters and distributors in the different markets where Heartland is made available, but has no input other than final approval over how the advertising and marketing of the series looks.

Grasping for straws as the saying goes (or hay in this case), but there have been no tweets from any cast member today...Thursday (yet at least), and I'm wondering if that means something. Maybe they've just been told that Season 6 is a "go," and are focusing attention and time on getting ready to head to Calgary to get settled and begin rehearsing for Episodes 1 and 2, which under normal circumstances, would begin shooting in approx. 4 weeks! I'm still optimistic that CBC is going to keep Heartland going. In many ways, it's the biggest feather they have in their original programming hat.

I was wondering if the horse that played Pegasus in the show is still alive. Hey BW! I recently downloaded Candles in the Wind off the itunes store, but only 26 minutes of the episode was availible for downloading. I went back to the itunes store to try and redownload the episode but it was no longer listed! Why is this? Is there an alternative season finale that you will make availible on itunes if there is not a season 6? Thanks and happy easter!

Are the federal budget cuts affecting Heartland's next season? On the radio it said a lot of CBCV Prime time shows will be canceled! So, if Heartland does get cancelled, how are we going to find out what happens with Amy and Ty and all the other loose ends that still had to be tied up? For nostalgia's sake, seems like just yesterday (well, about a year ago, on April 28th) that the following was posted on the blog...

CBC had a press conference this afternoon. They announced that a specif TV show (Connect with Mark Kelley) and a radio show will be eliminated. Other shows, at the radio or on TV, won't be renewed. It will also affect drama.
As well, they also talked about 6 shows (produced by CBC) less in the TV schedule, but they didn't specified which one will be involve... They said that good shows will be affected, but that they had no choice...
We don't have any more news... The only thing we know, is that the final lineup for fall will be announced on May 10th. Hopefully, we won't have to wait until there to have the answer of our BIG question...
When we will know if Heratland is renewed, we will be starting to being worried about Amy's reaction... But until then... Cross your fingers for a yes!

Well I just read that the CBC will cut only 6 programs (at least I hope the number doesn't climb). Connect and Dispatch have been cancelled. Two down, four more to go. Hopefully, heartland can be spared.

Director's Notes for Season 6: Have Ty's and Amy's kisses be more romantic, like they used to be. Mostly in Season 5, the smooching seemed reminiscent of a much older, staid, longtime married couple. No offense to that demographic, but just a little more realistic passion for the newly-engaged or about-to-be-engaged young couple please. Can you tell I'm getting bored?! Not sure Heartland the actual TV show will ever be able to match the cliff-hanging drama titled: "CBC Programming Decisions in the Wind." Here's hoping that wind is a sweet spring breeze, blowing gently at the backs of Heartland's cast, crew, and fans for a new beginning in May!

Oh I am on pins and needles. Heartland is such a great show. I watch it faithfully and will be so disapointed if there is no season 6! Watching it makes me want to saddle my horse and ride! By far one of the best shows on tv.
As for Amy and Ty's age, I'm pretty sure Amy is about 21 now, she was 16 in the first episode. Ty is probably about the same, maybe a year older as he came to the ranch while enrolled in a program for troubled youths.
The horses are all so beautiful! Makes me drool sometimes. I wish I could live in an actual spot like Heartland!

I think Ty is in his mid twenties (almost). That was in one of the episodes; when he moved to Caleb's trailer he was talking about his age. I agree with Hally, they should be a bit more passionate with each other considering they want to marry.

Well, I guess it's official now. My local paper says that Heartland has been CANCELLED. Once again the CBC rises to the height of absurdity. They wouldn't know a good show if they saw it. My only hope is that some other network or syndicate will pick it up but that's unlikely. Even if they wanted to, I imagine the actors are still under contract to CBC and they'd never release them. It seems the writing was on the wall for the last 6 or 7 episodes as they phased out story lines so how much more would it have taken to film a short scene with a proper ending and insert it if necessary. A lot a people asked for Amy's age; she actually 19, because she was 15 in the fist season (she had her sweet sixteen when Ty came back in the fist episode of season 2). She will have 20 in the few fist episodes of (hopefully) season 6. Ty is 3 years older, so he's now 22.

BW: I read right on CBC's home page that they were cancelling Republic of Doyle and Heartland so I don't know how you can say that the verdict is still out on a 6th season. Having re-read the article posted in the Metro newspaper on April 11, I see it does say on the "chopping block" but specifically names "Republic of Doyle" and "Heartland". I couldn't find the article on line but the website would be - metronews.ca and I live in London, Ontario. Though the more I think about it, they say that Heartland and the Republic of Doyle (probably two of CBC's biggest audience-drawing shows) are on the chopping block to get people's attention, even though it may not be necessarily true.
