Well, for many of you a burning question is about to be answered in this Sunday's new episode of Heartland, which is appropriately titled, "What's in a Name." 'Cause this is the episode where we all learn the name of Peter and Lou's baby girl!!!
If you'll recall, we held a contest to name the baby, and in May - from tens of thousands of entries - Catherine R. from Lacombe, Alberta was the first to suggest the name selected. And that was no easy chore, let me tell you, as even removing the inevitable duplicates there were thousands of different names suggested from all those entries.
So for over four months poor Catherine has had to keep the name secret, as have we all, with me referring to the baby as "Baby X" or "Mystery Baby".
Well, Baby X no more, as of Sunday! But of course that's not all that is going to be revealed in three days on CBC Television, when Heartland's third episode of the new season is broadcast at 7:00pm across Canada (7:30pm in Newfoundland). Read on...

Well, last week CBC broadcast the Season Premiere of Heartland's 5th Season and this Sunday the follow up episode --Something in the Night-- will air at the usual time of 7:00pm across Canada (7:30pm in Newfoundland).
This new episode is written by David Preston and directed by John Fawcett, and it'll be the episode where you finally get to meet the animal actor (known in a lot of production tweets this past summer) as "Elvis"!
So here's an idea of what you can expect this Sunday on Heartland...

So, as faithful followers of this Heartland site can attest, I've been posting something for fans of Canada's favourite family drama every Thursday for a VERY long time.
Some Thursdays - especially the odd one during the past 5 month break from the end of Season 4 until now - I've had to scramble a bit to find things to write about.
But not today!!

Tick... tick... tick...
Let me repeat that -
Tick... tick... tick...
I thought I'd start off today's blog post with our ticking, time-passing sign-off, because as of tomorrow we will be into single digits until the September 18 Season 5 Premiere of Heartland. (Yay!) Yes, only 10 more days from today - and 1 final Thursday blog post to go after today (not that I'm going to stop with the Thursday posts - just the "pre-season" Thursday posts!)
Anyhow... It's getting exciting, isn't it?

If you've been following Heartland on Twitter, you'll be aware of a horse in Season 5 named Alcatraz. He's a special horse, with a special problem, and Amy decides that he's worth saving.
Alcatraz's story lasts for a few episodes, and because of some of the things he has to do, 4 different horses have been used to play his role.
Two weeks ago on set Heartland's Production Manager, Lorenz Augustin, happened to catch one of the horses - Razz - with his trainer Dewey, in the pen getting ready for an upcoming scene. Watch this clip to see one very well trained horse:

Today's word for some of you to learn is 'deviate', which is a verb that means
1 - to depart from an established course, or
2 - to depart from usual or accepted standards. (Entertain and educate - it's what I love to do!)
And deviating is what I'm doing on this particular Thursday, 'cause instead of titling this post with the regular, "Thursday, September 1 - Now we're at 17 Days to go until Season 5 premieres," I thought I'd put up something a little different...
