Well, last week I started the countdown to the September 18 Heartland Season 5 Premiere, and now every Thursday I'll knock off 7 days and we'll all watch the "Tick... Tick... Tick..." wind its way down to zero, as the Heartland saga continues across Canada on CBC Television, Sunday evenings at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland).
The fall season should be pretty exciting, as a new season of Battle of the Blades will air following Heartland again on Sunday nights and a new talent show - called Cover Me Canada - will follow that. So CBC is definitely the place to be Sunday nights, and it all kicks off with Heartland (OF COURSE!!!) Read on...
The photo I have at the top of this post is a great one of Amber Marshall (Amy) and Graham Wardle (Ty), who took a couple of days away from production last week to join talent from across the country in Toronto and be a part of CBC's Fall launch festivities. You gotta admit, we have a pretty good looking pair of leads in Heartland, don't we?
This week Block 3, under the able direction of Dean Bennett, started filming. Dean - who's helmed more episodes of Heartland than anyone else - is in charge of the 5th and 6th episodes.
To show you how integral Dean Bennett has been to Heartland, here are the episodes he has directed over the previous 4 seasons:

#215 - Dark Horse

and of course the 2-hour Holiday movie, "A Heartland Christmas."
When you add in these new episodes, #505 - Never Let Go and #506 - The Slippery Slope, that makes a total of 19 hours of Heartland Dean has directed. That's more than one entire 18-episode season!!!
This time out Dean will be applying his usual care, as these episodes introduce three new characters into the Heartland fold - Austin, Kelly and Sandra. Remember these names, as I'll be writing more about them in the months ahead!
But if any of you are concerned about what the new characters may be bringing to Heartland, don't worry... I can guarantee that none of them are riding into the ranch on the back of Ty's motorcycle. :)
So on the puzzle front, congratulations to Heartland fan Dakota C. from Tompkins, SK, who found the seven differences in this week's Spot the Differences, Dakota will be receiving an autographed cast photo, signed by the main cast members. Way to go, Dakota!
This Monday there will be a tougher 6-letter Heartland-themed word ladder, just to further test your skills and keep you entertained, because that's what I like to do!
And for those of you who enjoy watching reruns of Heartland on your television, there are two things you should be aware of:
1) On Sunday evenings starting this Sunday, June 19 at 7:00pm (7:30pm in Newfoundland), most of Season 4 - beginning with episode #405 - Where the Truth Lies - will be airing on CBC.
AND...
2) On weekdays at 1:00pm (1:30pm in Newfoundland) starting this Monday, June 20, the first three seasons of Heartland will run in order right through until August 31.

You may also notice that in the changing images at the top of the main page there currently are 4 photos of Shaun Johnston as Jack Bartlett. Every few weeks I am going to try to swap these and feature a different actor/character from Heartland - hopefully with pics you haven't seen before. Watch for 'em!

Thank the Lord! There are no prissy little twits riding in on Ty's bike. I can't tell you how much that opening scene of season 4 irritated me, BW. However, I think by my usual rants about She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named have given you a pretty good idea. Can't wait for the new season. Oh my gosh Amber and Graham are so cute together! I know this is really random but I remember about 2 years ago I went to Vaughn Mills Mall near Toronto to get their autograph; I was first in line and they were the nicest people ever! I am really grateful that the show has done so well, my family and I have watched it since the beginning every Sunday. Each of us have a favorite character. I hope that Heartland lasts for many more years; I'm sure it will!

Sure hope this picture of Graham and Amber is a sample of what's ahead after the tick...tick...tick! We can get CBC here on Whidbey Island so will sure be watching those re-run episodes of season 4, although must admit some of them are painful to watch. Thanks for the reassurance that "none of them (new characters) will be riding on the back of Ty's motorcycle!"

I only started watching Heartland during season 4 with my grandchildren. My grand daughter and I started reading the first two books and then began watching the series. We now PVR all the older episodes that we can find and are enjoying getting all caught up. We are really enjoying all the episodes and the books.

I finished watching the entire heartland episodes!! Soo good. In just a month of so i watched ALL of the heartland shows! Cant wait till season 5! The only way for me to be able to live until season 5 is to watch all the episode over agian. I just finished season 1 episode 3 breaking free! Its hard to believe how much all the cast changes. Ty looks alot different in the first episode and so does ashley and amy and mallory! But soraya is the one that looks the most different. in the very first episode soraya looks like a whole new actress! is it just me? but in the second episode she looks regular. maybe it isnt soraya! but she was amys friend and i never saw that actress again . You never see jesse (ashleys brother again either) he isnt even at ashleys wedding! I LOVE HEARTLAND!

I am going to the Netherlands (I am dutch), and Dutch island called Vlieland and Paris for whole July !!! (This is the sweet part) :)
The bitter part is that I won't be able to go on the Heartland site for a MONTH !!!! A WHOLE MONTH !!! Gahhhh I will miss it so much :( But at the same time I will be having an amazing holiday ! Talk to you in August BW ! :)

O.M.G. I have the same problem as Isabella i am going to Ontario for two weeks. I am gonna be visiting my cousins and get this, I can't watch heartland while I'm there or go on the official website:( I have to wait TWO WHOLE WEEKS! That's the longest I have gone without Heartland, I am about to go cry in a pillow. It's to hard to see the screen through my teary eyes. Hola Katherin, no se cual es tu problema, Boomerang ha estado dando la serie desde hace tres años, el año pasado estrenó la tercera temporada y espero, en realidad somos muchos los que esperamos, que haya adquirido los derechos para transmitir la cuarta temporada.
Desde el lunes pasado, al igual que en Canadá, comenzó a repetir la serie desde el primer episodio, por lo tanto en 13 días terminará y comenzará la segunda temporada y luego la tercera.
Tendrás que tener un poco de paciencia y por otro lado disfrútala, la primer temporada es muy buena.

Cedar Rapids, IA, Des Moines, IA, The State Capitol of Iowa and Portland, ME were one of the few markets in the entire country to NOT pick up Heartland, although these DVDs are now available so thanks for not picking up in those 3 cities of Iowa and Maine.
