There's a new blog post up! Check it out! Famed newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst once said "Show me a magazine cover with a pretty girl, a baby and a dog, and I'll show you a magazine that sells." I bet the Heartland equivalent would be "Show me a blog post with beautiful horses and I'll show you happy Heartland fans." Click through for some season 5 scoop!
Even though production started on Monday, Heartland's trusty photographer Andrew Bako is not on set until next week, so I thought I'd post the above photo, which he shot during the filming of episode 408 last year. These are the horses that Joe released in "One Day," and it is such a great shot I thought I'd share it with you to make up for not having a Day 1 photo from set, as I did last year.
However, I did have a Day 1 video of the very first shot done on the first day of filming. If you haven't seen it yet, just click on "previous" at the top of this post and enjoy!
I also wanted to show some horses as a reminder that Heartland is going to have some very interesting equine characters in Season 5, starting with the very first episode. I know this is going to please a lot of you!
Now that filming has begun of the 5th season of Heartland there will be no shortage of things to tell you every week. Plus there will be tweets every day filming is taking place, some by me and some by my spies on set - so if you aren't following Heartland on Twitter I would humbly suggest you do so, as you'll get insider news and opinions and hints about the new season you won't find anywhere else! Here's the link: twitter.com/HeartlandOnCBC
Speaking of finding, although some of you are brilliant at detecting the differences in the weekly Monday "Spot the Differences" puzzles, I take some pleasure that some of you can't find the 9th difference in this week's puzzle, found here. Later today I will end the misery for those who are stumped and will (in the comments) reveal the final discrepancy between the two photos.
So on Monday expect another photo puzzle with an increase of one additional change, so the two photos will have 10 differences for you to find. (Wait - let me double check my math... 9, plus 1 equals... um, wait, I need my calculator. Uh-oh! I can't find it. Must use fingers... yes, 11. No, 10! That's right - 10! Whew!) These puzzles are all leading up to a fun giveaway I'm going to simultaneously alert Heartland fans all over the world of on Facebook and here on the blog in the near future. The first to solve the puzzle will receive a little something from your favourite television series (as long as your favourite television series is Heartland, that is!)
And I'll be providing other Heartland-related games and puzzles and videos and stuff to help keep you busy and make sure you don't forget me (sniff!) until September.
So right now filming is continuing on Episodes 501 and 502 in the Calgary interior studio sets of the ranch house, the barn and Caleb's trailer through Monday. Then on Tuesday the location shifts to the Heartland Ranch set just south of the city for the remainder of next week. Now that the weather is actually showing signs of granting Alberta something resembling springtime conditions, the cast and crew are looking forward to being out in the beautiful countryside again.
I've been reading some positive stuff from France, where Season 4 began broadcasting last Sunday. French Heartland fans are just now learning the joys of Blair (Ha!!!). France is the first country outside of Canada to begin showing Season 4. As soon as I learn of others (I expect Australia to be next) I will let everyone know.
So that's it for this week. I'll leave you where I came in today, with another photo of those great horses from last season.

Until next week, have a great weekend!

SSOOO excited!!!!
Man! I havn't posted something for a while, have I? Well it's great to be back!
Hey, does anyone here remember the show Dragon Booster? I watched it during my childhood years on CBC and have just started re-watching it lately on Youtube. Thousands of people want it to come back on air and are signing an online petition. If you remember this show, and would like to see Dragon Booster Academy, then please sign this petition, EVERY voice counts. If the producers have enough people asking, it will air.
It really breaks my heart to think CBC cancelled it. :(
And Blog Whisperer, if you don't want me talking about other shows on here, than go ahead and delete this, it's fine with me.
P.S. We'll find out what the baby's names is tomorrow!

Really sucks that CBC will not let me watch the show on here just because im in america.... you want the show to be shown around the world and get more viewers but you wont allow others to see it... how else am i going to keep up with the show when it comes back on ... ugh
[Blog Whisperer: When the show is sold to other countries (and the U.S. is catching up fast - there will be more new episodes starting in the fall) the rights to stream episodes online come with that - whether those other countries choose to do it or not. The CBC is not allowed to make the online episodes available outside of Canada, or they could get in huge trouble with your American broadcasters. ]
