Okay, it's not really the "dog days." More like the "horse days" because after all, that's what Heartland is all about, but maybe if we call it the dog days then perhaps the weather will improve for filming. And we can call it that in honour of certain very special dogs.
Today it is totally gorgeous, but the last three days have all seen rain during parts of the day and Tuesday had a MASSIVELY heavy hailstorm. It was worse in the city of Calgary where hailstones the size of Toonies (or silver dollars, if you happen to live in the U.S.) pelted parts of the city for about five minutes. Five minutes seems like such a short time, doesn't it? Well, there were dents in cars, roof damage and bruised noggins all over. The downpour was so bad they had to cancel the chuckwagon races and the grandstand show at the Calgary Stampede, something no one can remember ever being done before. Speaking of the Stampede, I hope some of you in Canada were able to see Amber as she TOTALLY ROCKED her way through her interview duties during the parade last Friday. If you didn't, thanks to KMA88 and my spies I've managed to post a few decent photos photos for you to enjoy.
To answer a question a few of you have posed, the cowboy - and he is a genuine cowboy - in the white shirt seen not far from Amber and Goldie, the horse Amber rode during the parade coverage, is Tim McLean, one of the wranglers who helps handle the horses on Heartland. Tim drove Goldie down and was on hand to keep an eye on her while Amber was up with the other hosts or away doing other things. Tim did a great job - as he always does on set - and it was good having him around.
And now it's time for the weekly answering of some of your questions!
First - I'd like to humbly suggest that before you ask what might be regarded as an obvious question you check out some of the earlier "Thursday" posts because many of these have been answered - even prettty recently! Typical questions that have answered more than once include
a) Why can't I see all of Season 3 online at the CBC site?

Oh... hang on, I AM going to answer the last one because like most of you I have been counting the days until the September 26 Season Premiere of the first episode of the fourth season...
So here we go - there are 10 more Thursdays and 73 sleeps until the new stuff hits the air in Canada. And just because I can't repeat this enough times, Heartland's regular time is at 7:00pm on Sundays (7:30pm in Newfoundland).
Okay, on to the new questions!
There have been a lot of (sometimes desperate) questions about who is returning for Season 4. Well, I recently confirmed Sugarfoot, so you know Mrs. Bell is also going to be there. Of course Amy is back (probably), so that means we also have to see Spartan (at least in photographs). Some of you are wondering about Scott. He's back, as are some or all of the actors pictured at the top of the page (currently - who knows when the top of the page could change? Well, I do... but let's not talk about that.)
Of course Lou is married but things have an unusual way of unfolding in our favourite television shows, and I have a hunch that at least at some point you will be seeing Lou, and of course Peter. And if Caleb is back, of course we are going to see Ashley and her mom Val. Most likely. And who is going to run Maggies if we don't have Soraya returning? Unless it's a whole new staff?
So basically everyone is back, or they aren't, and some others may appear that you may not have expected. For some things you are just going to have to wait. And there will be surprises. Oh yes, there will be surprises!!!
Turandot asks, will Chris Potter direct an episode in Season 4?
Yep. In fact, my sources tell me he'll be directing not one but TWO episodes in Season 4.
Orla asks, I was just wondering if you had any pics of Caleb & Ty together?
Yep again! And I'll dig out a good one and post it next Thursday for all to see.
By the way, today's photo is the lovely stained glass artwork that hangs in the mudroom off the entrance to the Heartland Ranch house. It has appeared fleetingly in several episodes but I thought I'd give you a closeup so you could take a good look.
Healinghorses asks, I am wondering when there will be any contests etc.
Yep a THIRD time!!! I'm going to make sure you all have a few chances to win cool stuff as we approach the Season Premiere, AND especially throughout the season! For some - like the recent trivia contests - you're going to have to be exceedingly clever. For others... well, let's just say you just have to be here on the site at the right time!

...Okay, one more question, only because it doesn't require a "yep" or a "nope"...
Lara asks, I would like to know how you come up with the names of the shows? I know some of the shows are named after the books but what about the others?
That's a good question Lara, and yes, some are named after different books in the series, but being as by the end of Season 4 there will be 67 episodes - almost three times the number of Heartland books - the writers have to be creative. After the episode is written they take a look at what unfolds in the storyline and they come up with a clever title. Not unlike how a novelist names his or her books. Very often the name of a book or movie actually comes after it's been written. I hope that answers your question... it's the best I can do, anyway!

I did not stick around to experience the hail, but it sounds awful. Last Saturday, it went from sunny to cold, rainy, and windy in minutes. I waited five minutes for the weather to change back to warm, and it didn't. And on it rained into the night. You all don't kid about the weather up there!!

The CBC has taken down certain season 3 episodes while they air the reruns on TV over the summer. You can send any feedback you may have about that using the contact form at http://www.cbc.ca/contact . They do read all feedback that is sent in.
Ihope, yes ihope that helped and anwser some questions, but if you want to read it personally yourself go the the Blog named Another Week Another Heartland Thursday, with the photo of Amy and Ghost (the appaloosa horse) and scroll down to the 46 Comments part at the bottem of the page (not the ones that had been posted like 2 weeks ago and BW already answered at the top of the page, not those ones), the ones were you can post a comment on that certain page... if that made any sence. Read through the commetns and there will be one that asks where did the season 3 episodes go (or something along those line) and the Blog Whisperer has Answer her comment, with the exact thing I just posted at the top I hope that help you guys. Sadly,I started watching Heartland in Canada,but was forced to move :(,so now I am counting down the days until Heartland airs in the United States :D. I am a huge fan of the show and have watched every episode over 15 times on YouTube. It is amazing that there is finally a show that is clean,envolves horses and has an amazing story line. In today's culture that is an amazing find :). Hopefully Heartland will lead the way for shows like it.
