Another Thursday - another blog entry! For those of you holding your breath, we are down to 24 days until October 4, when "Miracle" - the 3rd season premiere of Heartland - airs on the CBC at 7:00pm.
Don't think you are the only ones who are excited about this. Even everyone on the cast and crew is looking forward to watching the first of the 18 new episodes the show!
To answer a question from the past week, yes, all the major cast is returning, including Kerry James as Caleb and Nathaniel Arcand as Scott. And of course there will be a few surprises - a few new faces and a few that I bet you thought would not be returning. Hmmmn - now who could that be referring to?
And a bit of an update for our European friends - in Germany, where seasons 1 & 2 have aired on Pay TV, both seasons will begin airing on free television beginning in July of next year on VOX. In Belgium, Vitaya is planning to begin airing Season 1 in November. And TV2 in Denmark and YLE in Finland will be broadcasting Heartland in the upcoming months.
And of course, back here in Canada the CBC has begun airing season 1 Friday afternoons at 1:00pm. Check out the Heartland calendar on our home page to see which episodes are being broadcast when.
But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here... First an on-set update, since tomorrow is the last day of filming for episodes 209 and 210: On Monday we welcome back director TW Peacocke, who will be at the helm to shoot two exciting new episodes - 211 and 212.
And another of our 3rd season directors, Don McBrearty, was the director on this week's Sunday repeat episode of Heartland - "Full Circle," which was written by Penny Gummerson. In it, Amy heads into the mountains to visit a First Nations horse healer named Victor Whitetail, and leaves with a new understanding about horses, swinging a golf club(!), her mom and herself.
"Full Circle" plays Sunday at 7:00pm, 7:30pm in Newfoundland.

I just want to say that I like Heartland but I'm really dispointed by the horse part of the story that Lauren Brooke wrote.
I have been riting for 10years now and Heartland has been mij inspiration all along. But your serie talk just about de relationship between Ty and Amy and not spacialy about the relationship with the horses where she is writting about. voilà

Airing season 1 on Friday afternoons is a great idea...it will attract older viewers (like myself), although I have been a fan since day 1.

Uh oh. Not this episode!! .... Of all the Heartland shows I have seen, I have got to be honest: this one made me cringe. As TC pointed out, there was waaaay too much emphasis on "authentic native american guy" being an authentic native american. Ouch. But, even it wasn't all that bad--there were moments I enjoyed, and the golf part was pretty funny.
On a positive note--24 days??? ALREADY?? Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeee(Twe catches breath)eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Saw Graham & Amber (co-presenting with George Canyon) on the Canadian Country Music Awards last night presenting the CCMA Award for Rising Star to Tara Oram! They looked and sounded GREAT, did us Heartland fans proud with their professionalism and genuine big smiles! Congrats & love you both!

Yay! The season premiere preview was on last night. It looked pretty sweet! It's already much more epic than the second season premiere. Can't wait! I couldn't really pick up that much from the preview, but from what i got, it's going to be awesome! I hope Amy can fix the horse! LOL. Oh! and I was suprised to see Graham Wardle and Amber Marshall at the Country Music Awards. I loved amber's dress! so, how old is she actually? 20ish? anyways, keep the episodes coming and coming and coming! Okay, okay, I swear: last negative post on this poor episode. But, I gotta say this: "Full Circle" contains the worst dialogue in Heartland history. "We're gonna be okay. I can feel it. In here." Ooooooooooooouuuuuuuchhhh! Why, Heartland writer, why? Wait....I know! They used this episode to find out who was a true heartland fan and who was a bandwagon jumper. I guess it was useful for that. And at least it had Precious 'ol Pete and the Ty/Kit breakup to reward us for our suffering.
