'TC' is too short a username over there, so I'm now known as 'The Real TC' over there. Things are looking good. Avatars are a little too cutesy...would have liked the option of uploading our own images for a profile pic, but that's not important. I can't wait for all those extra goodies to start making an appearance over there.

Wow. I mean, wow. I mean, before, we couldn't possibly ever get enough HEARTLAND. So they give us a second site which is a varitable smorgasboard! Aweeeeeesome! I am 11 yearss old. I have two horses named mister mister and whimpy one is a paint and one is a bay quarter horse I just wanted to say I love Heartland I watch it every sunday. I haven't missed one this year. I also wanted to know if the characters of Heartland really do like horses or if they only care for them in the show. If they do have any horses or had horses what kind and what were their names? If they didn't have horses then they probably don't know anything about them. I think Amy is really pretty. Hi, I love heartland and horses. I Have two horses, one is a grey Quarter named Misty and the other is a Black Tennessee walker named Madason. I have trained Madason for three years. I am realy excited for season 3 and hope to see that Ty and Amy stay together.

Ok. I gotta say this, even though I will get burned at the stake, stoned, whatever. I like this blog better than iloveheartland.com. Why? Well, iloveheartland is so high maitenance! At first I was going on there non stop, and it was like this huge sugar rush. But, seriously, I don't have the time for that. And when you're not on there, like, all the time, it's not nearly as fun. I mean, I met a lot of cool people over there and had fun chatting with people. But seriously, I miss writing my blogs. That was the reason I created Twe in the first place, not so that being Twe would take up all my time. Just so I could briefly say what I liked about Heartland, make some witty/stupid comments, and read other people's witty/stupid comments. Plus, there's quite a bit of catting going on over there. There are some really nasty Heartland fans! Woweeee! ;) So I hope this blog will get moving again soon. Otherwise, I think Twe might go into official retirement until Season 3. And this is not out of deteriorating love for Heartland. This is called a social schedule. Hate those things, but....

Twe--there are no more catty people over there than there are here. These are many of the same fans. They are neither catty nor nasty, ...just want to express opinions like everyone else. Your own comments take up time and space on this site as well. Are other fans not entitiled to the same? As for witty or stupid, which fan gets to decide whose posts are witty or stupid? Go easy. This is fiction we're all talking about here. It's a beautiful work of fiction which is why we all love it so much.
I prefer this site, and Facebook's good, too.

Question: the Heartland Ranch...will that section of this site grow? On last year's site, Enter the Ranch provided a nice glimpse into the 'rooms' in the house and the barn. That was interesting. Will the new Heartland ranch be expanded to include some of the 'inside' information? That was very cool.

Overall, everyone associated with Heartland is very generous with their efforts to give fans a voice, and feel like we are part of the whole experience. Rarely does a cast, crew, or staff make such an effort to be visible to their fans. Thank you!

@Twe: I totally hear what you're saying. Perhaps the issue lies in the particular format the iloveheartland site has taken. I, for one, was vocal in requesting a more 'interactive' kind of blog/fansite. Well, now we have it.

Would I have preferred a more traditional community message board? I have to admit the answer is yes.

I do think the 'blogging' aspect is one of the features that is in the pending phase, and will be rolled out in due time. 'Wordsmithing Made Easy'? I don't know if it's just going to be strictly in the domain of 'contests', but I do hope it's going to mean we can indulge in a lot of endless gabbing about whatever we want.

As for the cattiness, well... that's to be expected. Whenever and wherever people gather, there will always be a difference of opinion, and a clashing of personalities and attitudes. I dislike discord of any sort, and simply make myself absent and silent when such cattiness takes place. I return when things settle, because I don't want to let my temper get away from me and say things I'll regret. That sort of thing has happened too often to me, and it's not something I care to repeat (if I can help it).

That said, I really hope you stick around. It would be my hope that the more input we give to our fangirl-in-residence, the ever-vigilant Tanya, the more the fansite will be a haven for Heartland fans. Who knows? If people make suggestions as to how things can be improved so our on-line experience of Heartland can be enhanced, maybe our suggestions will be implemented.

In defence of iloveheartland...it is fairly tame and courteous site compared to other news or entertainment sites. Even CBC.ca news comments are pretty vehement sometimes. Some may construe certain fan contributions as insulting or catty, but perhaps it is indicative of how passionate fans are about topics that are close to their own hearts. Catty is often the reader's perception, not the sender's intent. There is such a wide range of life experience on these sites. Perhaps the way fans choose to express opinions is more a function of age than a desire to irritate others.

All in all, the Heartland fansites are a pretty safe and pleasant place to be.
To echo MoMo's thoughts, rarely do talented people from a show like this work so hard to reach out to fans and make us feel so much a part of the story.

Okay, woa, woa. I'm not saying everyone at iloveheartland are morons. I don't like calling myself names. I'm also not saying that Heartland producers came up with a really stupid idea. It's a great idea. What I was trying to say, but which was perhaps a little clouded by my lack of coffee, was that I hope this blog starts up in earnest again soon. The new website offers features which are pretty darn cool and which this site doesn't have. But the one thing that site doesn't have is a blog with a brown dappled background, and a message about moderators which pops up everytime you post. (Yes, moderators, we miss you over there! ;) ). In a subnote, I would also like to point out that some people are catty. This sounds mean. But who are we to disregard the presence of Catwoman?? Careful, people, she's a peep of Batgirl.

Hey Twe..enjoy your coffee, relax and have some fun with fiction, dreamland maybe.
If you really want to go someplace where people are publicly nasty about something, go to any news site where the topic is bailing out the auto industry. Now that's something real where real people get really angry with each other.

Heartland is a pretty sweet place to be. Let's keep it that way.

Heartland's pretty cool. And so are the people here. All of them. Love this place to bits!

You all seem to do a pretty good job of keeping things under control on the blog, so why would I interfere? Spirited, opinionated discussion is always welcome on the Heartland blog, and I have not had to break out the Loving Mallet of Correction (tm) for a long, long time. For the record, I don't see Twe's post as name-calling (or mean) at all: it's not directed at any one person, and it's a valid observation... as a couple of people have pointed out, the web is full of snarky/catty people posting on message boards, but for my money, Heartland fans generally rise above that for the most part, which is refreshing. Plus, we are really interested in everyone's opinions about iloveheartland. Okay, enough from me... back to all of you!]

The fans on every Heartland site are pretty interesting people. I don't who or where Twe is talking about , but all this nasty business is not happening where I am. Please stop the name calling. It's very un-Heartland.

When I first saw that there was a new Heartland website, I checked it out, many a time and at first, I was on there like, all the time.....let's just say that my sleep patterns were outta wack....it was becoming too high maintainence for me as well. I totally enjoy this CBC website.... simplicity at its finest.

So, will I visit the Iloveheartland site as often...sure not, but will I visit....yes! I do have a social life too!!!

Twe.....yes, your blogs have only ever been, and which I suspect will always be, written with an understanding, caring, respectful, genuine attitude. Your words are always eloquent and compassionate. I always look foward to your thoughts.....which, without sounding "stalkish", usually resonate of my own.....the difference being, you have the outstanding ability to put them into words! Thank you. It is bloggers like yourself, TC and the like (our usuals) that only enhance the quality if this website.

i am 20 year old horse lover ! i live in southwestern ontario but i an highly allergic to horses. i found this out when i was 6 years old but something about horses and the thought of living on a ranch in the country makes me extremly happy. Heartland lets me image what life would be like working with sick and abused horses as well as well loved horses who just love to gallop and jump. i can't wait for the new season to start . i've read every single book , it was my favorite series growing up . thank you to the producer, cast and crew who made it possible to see what i would truly love to have
