I thought episode 11 was awesome, but I still can't wait for Amy and Ty to kiss. You can't give us any hints :)

I really liked this episode! When Lou rode, i was so suprised!! she did so well. Jack and Lisa i think make a good couple. The preview for the next episode look very interesting. A fire maybe? I can barley wait for sunday! Keep up the good work Heartland!!!! Loving it!

Based on the original book series, Heartland, Amy and Lou Fleming live with their grandfather, Jack Bartlett, at Heartland ranch as they cope with the sudden death of their mother, Marion Fleming. Ty Borden grows close to the family as he conquers his disheveled past and gains experience as a ranch hand.

CRITICAL ANALYSIS

Tim Fleming comes to stay at the ranch for a day and visits with his daughters, Amy and Lou. He drops off a cutter horse that Amy agrees to train. Things heat up when Amy takes a brutal fall and Lou fends for her sister’s well being as Tim makes light of the situation. Ty and Amy enjoy one another’s company while Jack and Lisa go fly-fishing at the old cottage in the mountains.
Heartland is intended for a family audience. It encompasses teenage and adult relationships, divorce, personal struggles, success and failure, the death of a loved one and everyday human interaction. Many viewers are able to relate to Heartland and may feel comforted by the fact that others have experienced a similar circumstance. Ranchers, jockeys, farmers, horse-lovers, and Canadians alike will relate to the show and its characters.
A dramatic series filled with the thrill and adventure of ranching, Heartland also depicts the struggles of a broken family. Set in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, the awe-inspiring beauty of western Canada is portrayed. At the climax of Thicker Than Water, pathetic fallacy is used to strengthen the mood. The sky was a somber, fierce and stormy grey, reflecting Lou’s rancorous reproach towards her father as well as the acrimonious tension between the two. The audience is kept in suspense as the relationship between Ty and Amy blossoms.
Set in the current decade, Thicker Than Water may have a message for its viewers. It strives to offer encouragement to those suffering from the loss of a family member or the trauma of a horrific event, as well as reinforces the fact that one must continue with life and aim to make the best of each and every day.
Heartland fulfills the mandate of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. It is available throughout Canada on the C.B.C. television network. The online homepage provides full episodes with descriptions, pod casts and pictures to any Canadian with access to computer and internet services in the country. The program will appeal to all tastes, but not simultaneously. It reflects the experiences of diverse groups of Canadian society; the man and woman, the wealthy and poor, the fortunate and unfortunate, the child, teenager and adult, the lonesome and accompanied, and the prestigious and subordinate. Heartland is based and filmed in the Canadian province of Alberta and acts as a showcase for Canadian culture. Amber Marshall (Amy Fleming) is from London, Ontario, and Graham Wardle (Ty Borden) is from Vancouver, British Columbia. In addition to actors, the music used in the program is that of Canadian talent. The program is at liberty from all political or financial control and is by no means an asset to such vested interests.

Episode 11 was REALLY good!!!! I can't wait until the next episode!!!!!

Wow. I thought this was a great episode, i was in awe to see the special effects and to see Lou "jump"(stuntman) but anyway i loved it and im super excited for the beltbuckle contest and next sundays episode, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK HEARTLAND!

I loved this episode!! I didn't hear about Heartland until episode 10 when I saw it. I completely fell in love with it at first glance! I loved how Lou jumped Spartan. I was so suprised! She was so brave! I can't wait until the next episode! A fire? That has got to be exciting! Can't Wait! My brother was watching it with me too and he keeps saying how much he can't wait until the next episode (even though he does not like horses that much.... tehe)! I'm so excited!

Should have guessed that Lou would have had more of a connection to horses! I figured she was content to leave the 'horse stuff' to Amy.
I was surprised to find that her hippophobia actually stems from Tim's tragic injury at the Calgary Stampede (yay, CBC for *really* keeping it local!). I would have never guessed that Lou was once a pretty good jumped in her own right. Also nice to see she still has it.
What can I say about the gorgeous Canadian Rockies?! What a perfect backdrop for Jack and Lisa's date (Or whatever 'this' is).
CBC couldn't have picked a better locale for 'Heartland'. Everything looks wonderful.

The shows are hokey, the writing is predictable, one knows what going to be said or happen before it does. Maybe enjoyed by the teeny-bopper horsey crowd but adults-no.
